ronnup Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Savage is a footballing hooker and I don't want him back here keeping people like Weso and King out of the team.
Houdini Logic Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 I take it they don't screen their callers for what they're going to say before they ring up then? They must screen their callers There is no way you could get that consistency of retards week in, week out.
Corky Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Did anyone ring up and talk about how we are a Premier League club?
Webbo Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 To be fair to Savage, he wasn't keen on moving it was the club who were desperate to get him off the payroll. Having said that I don't really want him back.
Guest Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Did anyone ring up and talk about how we are a Premier League club? We are, didn't you know. In all but name. Name and status that is. Name, status and quality of players, Name, sta

Corky Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 We are, didn't you know. In all but name. Name and status that is. Name, status and quality of players, Name, sta Can't deny it. WE ARE MASSIVE!
Guest Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Made me smile after the Brum game how McLeish was saying we were a Championship club in all but name. We're always the league above where we actually are.... that's the rule!

Daggers Posted 4 August 2008 Posted 4 August 2008 Village idiot + Football topic + Leicester accent = Braindeath. Which just takes me one step closer to taking over the world. Bwahahahahahaha!
Ric Flair Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Robbie Savage back at Leicester? Would have jumped at the chance a season or two ago, but something has seriously gone wrong in his game. Doubt he'd be worth the trouble, unless we can convert him in to a decent right back.
Thracian Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Agree with the consensus. Savage was a seriously limited footballer even at his best. People like Weso, Kingy and Porter would have him running in circles like a wind-up toy. In motor-racing terms it would be like putting a Willy's jeep in a F1 Grand Prix.

He did make the best of what little he had got though, and did a good job for us. Plus he seriously pissed off Graham Poll by crapping in his toilet without permission Don't want him back though, we need to look to the future.
teblin Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 There could well be something in this, heard a few whispers from up here in derbyshire too.
consty Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Savage did make the most of a little talent - he over-achieved for us and did well iwthout a doubt. The one thing that was his whole platform for his contribution to the team was having a very good engine. He could be in the action and in the thick of it perpetually - always harassing the opposition and always upsetting their fans. All made possible by virtue of that very good engine. At 33 years of age, that engine will be much reduced. He will have to settle into being a 'holding' or passing midfielder. And those are qualities he hasn't got. I would not have him back.
Father Ted Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Regarding the Savage rumours, I am in two minds. My heart says yes, my brain says no. Savage is a fans player, always gives his best and always wears the club badge with pride. But then again he has his moments and would be a risk aswell as us already having Oakley, King, Weso and Kishishev. I believe we don't need any more players apart from maybe at left-back/right-back as we have a great balance in the squad.
cecchini Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Short memories Savage worked hard for us, as already said elsewhere he made a difference and was often what gave us an edge. To be honest, i've no idea if he would bring value - if fit and disciplined i'd take him on. If he's not been training then forget it.
Simi Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 **** Savage. Why are people always buying into his love for us? I hope he doesn't come. He has done Derby no favours at all.
ASH17LCFC Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 **** Savage. Why are people always buying into his love for us?I hope he doesn't come. He has done Derby no favours at all. Because he's Robbie Savage and he's better then Oakley, Clemence, Weso, King and anyone else we're got.

More signifantly he's trying to get back to form after a badly broken leg. Fib and Tib. I had a similar break, I struggle to get it over never mind run on it. Nothing new there! His game will definatly of changed, no way would he be able to play the headless suicidal game

Sods Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 **** Savage. Why are people always buying into his love for us?I hope he doesn't come. He has done Derby no favours at all. Good old Robbie! Because he's Robbie Savage and he's better then Oakley, Clemence, Weso, King and anyone else we're got. You dont know much do you. Personally we shouldn't sign Sav, just read Fez's posts.
Corky Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Because he's Robbie Savage and he's better then Oakley, Clemence, Weso, King and anyone else we're got. When he was with us, he was effective because Lennon and Izzet had the skill and vision. Now, he would be ineffective, and Weso looks a much better choice for his role, with some skill involved as well.
teblin Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Radio Leicester claims we are in talks with derby and also dickov will sign by the end of the week. According to my old man.
