maybe i'm missing something here , but how does this in any way make the anti fascists ( or whoever the the other group were ) look any better than the EDL ?

they seem all too ready for a confrontation and in readiness to use violence from the way i saw it , perhaps someone can enlighten me .

ok i can see how it may be seen as amusing that someone with the motto " no surrender " proceeds to surrender but presumably you do condemn the behaviour of both groups ?

OK :) i'm not trying to be argumentative with you :thumbup:

But do you condemn both groups for the violence or just the group that you see as the inflammatory EDL ?

Would a group of whites be equally within their rights to attack a group of muslims who were preaching anti western rhetoric on the basis that this rhetoric would eventually lead to the worst excesses of sharia law eventually being the norm in the UK ?

Please take this as a genuine question, and not in any way belittling your assertion that the EDL would eventually turn into rampant Naziism if left unchecked, but the same logic could easily apply to extreme Islamic preaching .

I just think there is little chance of either scenarios in the UK :thumbup:

As with all things, I think my opinions are shit and hypocritical - if I could square my personal circle then I'd probably be a nicer person.

Is violence a good thing? No. Do I believe it is sometimes a necessary evil? Yes. Do I believe in free speech? Yes. Do I think the EDL/NF/BNP should have it? No. See? I'm full of shit.

Do I think it's ace that they got a kick-in? Damn right. Do I feel guilty about that? Hell, I'm middle class - I was born to that shit.
