General Smuts Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Smuts is the new JoeyB. Well he cheats, i don't need to. I set up the game and play it. Lewandowski and Saviola cannot get into my team, i had to sell Kezman (to Chelsea) and Jones (Watford) as well as they couldn't get a game, got about 15m. Sold Givet for 2m, Robinson to Man City for 5m and Hartock for Chelsea for 7.5m so i can play Smithies as my back up. Sold Zoet and Saivet in a swap for Eboue and Capel from Watford plus some money from my side (about 5m - my only money signings) Good lord almighty what was your budget? Also I want some info about FM live, how much is it? and what do you actually do? FM Live is brilliant but will be very difficult to start now everyone has all the best players and most worlds are half a dozen seasons in. Take a look in the FM Live thread for quite a bit of info from myself, Potter, FYF and Ricey who all play it. You basically build your own team from scratch, squad, name, kit etc and then play it like FM09 against other online players. Why cheat? It's not a cheat its a database option on the editor, i fancied a bit of a change and this was something i enjoyed the most about FML - starting your own team from scratch and competing.
Finnegan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 How is anything cheating? You buy the game and you therefore play the game however YOU want to. A game is for fun and so if you can have fun by playing it that way, then surely that's fine.If you were changing the game for your benefit in an online network game, then yes, that's cheating. However, just enhancing your game playing experience isn't. I agree with you in principal but I don't understand how that Scout thing you use doesn't get very boring after the first go. On my current go I'm playing as St Pauli and I'm having to target Regens to make my money, so I've built a fantastic little accademy and I bring loads of awesome, talented but initially underrated players through (Norwegian wonderkids are far too common! ) It's pretty easy, just stick a decent scout in every region and they'll find them all at the turn of the season. Even to me it seems a little bit too easy (I figure by 2012/13, which isnt that far in if you think about it, I may have a championship winning team entirely of regens.) The thought of actually using a program to find all the best ones seems... dumb, to be honest. I know you enjoy it and all but that would just get very boring very fast for me. Half the fun of FM is finding good players. Lewandowski and Saviola cannot get into my team, Lewandowski's struggling to get into my side now. I've three really good regen strikers, a Serb who's one of the best players in Germany, a new kid from Norway who is Wonderkid and I'm trying to develop as he has okay stats and is learning fast but he has 19 acceleration and speed. And a Turkish lad who's got crappy mental stats (9 composure haha) but is tall, fast and an 18 finisher scores for fun.) That and I've got a new favourite "real" striker in Germán Pacheco. I've only ever seen him on one game so I don't know if his stats are randomized but he's coming on really well on my game. Got him for 60k and he's another Wonderkid and he's only 20 in the 2011/12 season. Only problem is he comes with Shoots With Power which I find annoying and he refuses to de-learn it, so I'm having to give him Rounds Keeper to stop him fucking up 1 v 1s.
dandannieldanok Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Bolton are bloody terrible on this, Ricardo Gardner is about their best player.
DB11 Posted 26 May 2009 Author Posted 26 May 2009 I agree with you in principal but I don't understand how that Scout thing you use doesn't get very boring after the first go. Because I just love snapping up the best 16 year old regens and watching them develop. Along with their development, they make Leicester (usually) an extremely good team over the years. Yes, sometimes I can even sell them for money but I dunno why but I just like it I don't use it for the options of like "What's the cheapest Man Utd will sell Danny Welbeck for" etc.
Finnegan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Yeah but I'm just saying it would seem that it'd be more fun and you'd get more out of it if you'd found those young regens yourself. Especially given it's not all THAT hard to do really. I love the buzz I get when I realise my scouts have stumbled over the next big of genuine world class and he's yet to sign a professional pre contract deal and none of the big clubs have found him yet. Oh ho ho! And also, @ this: I'm fucked!

I much prefer FML to normal FM, now my client works after over a month of not working (joys of being a beta tester ) I haven't been on normal FM since. 2 wins away from my first official trophy

Hitesh Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Put the legends league on hold and started a game with Leicester and its not going too badly. Started off slowly but now on a 15 game unbeaten run in the league. Also through to the semis in the JPT and currently playing Northampton in the FA Cup. Currently 2nd in the League level with Leeds with Millwall close behind. Only signed a few players as I didn't have much money, my main aim was to cut the wage bill down first! Problem has been strikers not scoring, got rid of DJ as I didn't think he would be great but Fryatt hasn't done much. Signed Craig Beattie on loan to maybe help out a bit but it was a rush loan signing on deadline day! So any suggestions for a cheap striker would be good... Some screenies...
Finnegan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Try looking for an Atletico Madrid 17 year old called "German Pacheco." I think his stats are fairly randomized (though with a fixed Finishing and Composure both fairly high) but he's going to be cheap whatever and the scouts on an LCFC game I just started to see him on reckon he'd come to me in League One for maybe £100k. I haven't seen him on the data editor but his "-X" potential score will likely be fixed so I'm guessing he'll have the same potential one very load even if his starting stats are occasionally weaker. I bought him 60k for St Pauli as a 19 year old and he looks like this now, ranked as a "Wonderkid." When I saw he'd turned Wonderkid I started playing him every game and he's struggled for goals a little this season but in his first year for me was a ridiculously good super-sub coming on to net crap loads. Also worth noting that with first team exposure his stats gained silly fast. With any luck he'd be an absolute diamond in League One and is my biggest tip since Lewandowski.

WHAT A SHOUT! just had a look, 80k minimum fee release, hes scored 18 in 26 for AM's U18's, bargain. southampton update! currently 18th after 29th game, still quite tight at the bottom, finally found a tactic that works well. giles barnes is a god and bobby zamora is playing brilliantly after getting him on a free in january. akpala and saganowski have been shocking, schneids is doing well and tijani bellaid is proving to be a right coup! got an amazing u18's team, won the u18 league 2 years in a row and won the u18's cup two years in a row , just beat arsenals u18's 7-0 in the final derby have gone into administartion and are bottom of the championship aswell
morris1234 Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 a few players of many many many ive found. none too expensive though as theres no point and as always i dont post the obvious ones or the 'known' players or i try not to at least maciej korzym mohammed abdellaoue tijani bellaid dejan skolnik etien velikonja valentin stocker michael eneramo dieumerci mbokani tsvetan genkov semir stilic roman zozulya hamed namouchi marek suchy alexander tettey dioh williams arthur sorin vadim demidov martin kavdanski ariel borysiuk marcin kardela janvier besala almog cohen moshe ohayon jiri jeslinek jan holenda that'll do ya for now. cant be bothered to write anymore
Finnegan Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 If Pacheco works out for anyone then let me know, eager to know if he's good on every load or if he's a bit like Hakola and is generally shit unless you're lucky. From what I can see he looks like a guaranteed bargain but I've only had him properly on one game so far but I'm 99% sure his potential score is fixed so he should always be decent.

Finnegan Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Finnegan you truely are a legend amongst men. No. I'm a sad, speccy geek with too much time on my hands.
Hitesh Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Finnegan, I've tried to sign him and beat Celta to it but I'm awaiting work permit application - should there be any issues with it??
Aleksz Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Finners how good is Omer Sinsmanglou? My Scout found him with a potential ability of 6!?
