GLC Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Got Barrow town to the PL, expected to avoid relegation, im 3rd after 12 games and ive just got the vote of confidence WTF!
Alexikokopops Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I agree with you in principal but I don't understand how that Scout thing you use doesn't get very boring after the first go.On my current go I'm playing as St Pauli and I'm having to target Regens to make my money, so I've built a fantastic little accademy and I bring loads of awesome, talented but initially underrated players through (Norwegian wonderkids are far too common! ) It's pretty easy, just stick a decent scout in every region and they'll find them all at the turn of the season. Even to me it seems a little bit too easy (I figure by 2012/13, which isnt that far in if you think about it, I may have a championship winning team entirely of regens.) The thought of actually using a program to find all the best ones seems... dumb, to be honest. I know you enjoy it and all but that would just get very boring very fast for me. Half the fun of FM is finding good players. That's what my Crystal Palace side was like in an epic game I had two FMs ago Regens and Chris Brunt. Won the Champions League and Premiership with that. Had this Ukrainian striker called Igor Kosenko and he was the fucking tits
GLC Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I love being in 2021/2022 season. All these regens :D I'd hate it,
DB11 Posted 28 May 2009 Author Posted 28 May 2009 I like some regens. But I wouldn't want a game full of them. I'll probably stop once I hit 2014 if I even get that far. The dearest players on the game: Best player on the game (in terms of CA): Yes he's unhappy and wants to leave but he's going nowhere. Second best is a gem I picked up whilst at Leicester. He was 15 at the time and remains the "Highest Fee Received" in the manager history; £23 million. The most I've spent is only £13 million on this guy: My favourite player. Signed him up at start of 2009/2010 and he stayed with Leicester, going on to be club captain for many years. I resigned at the end of the same season his contract expired and he went to Stoke; an established Premiership team thanks to ME. I kept them up and established them over a 4 year period. I've tried signing him for nostalgia purposes but he won't drop a division I am on his list of favoured personnel though And I've kept the same coaches all these years. Every time I've gone to a different club, I've brought my coaches along with me too; including when I was at Northern Ireland for a few months back in 2013. This wasn't even my shortest spell in charge of a club; that was 90 days at Peterborough in 2010. My total career earnings is £10 million. Managerial record: League Wins: 1 Cup Wins: 3 Games Played: 672 Games Won: 278 Games Drew: 160 Games Lost: 134 Goals For: 990 (1.5 per match) Goals Against: 861 (1.3 per match) Goal Difference: 129
Ozwin Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 The Championship is solid, I've got a formation that seems to do alright at Home but when I'm away I get absolutely battered. Just lost 4-0 and 4-1 to Watford and Coventry who were 19th and 14th respectively. Help me out please.

I GOT RELEGATED! in so much debt it isnt even funny (not my fault) , nearly kept them up, but lost 3 and 4th last games of the season to fellow relegation rivals hull and west brom who came down with me, then i had liverpool and chelsea as my last 2 games, lost 3-0 and 5-2 respectively. will struggle to hold onto schneids, lallana , surms and remy riou. but i have a killer youth squad so i will try them in the good ol' championship and try and bounce back. wasnt fair though, wolves and reading who came up with me spent loads, wolves were signing players like heskey and kalouda and spent around 26mill, reading spent around 20, i spent 12 after id sold 9mills worth. shocking.

Finnegan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Never been relegated. In fact I'm not sure I've ever not improved on a season. Which is generally why I stop playing once I've done a tripple, there's really no point!
morris1234 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 People will be queuing up for your tactical advice then!! when i saw you viewing this topic i thought you might post something along those lines. cheeky bugger. im not surprised i got relegated really, apart from the few player mentioned above i had a shocking side, my top scorer was simon cox whose still only league 1 and border line championship with 4 goals. i always played well though, which is why im frustrated because i played quality most games just didnt score. so annoying against teams like arsenal when they are so clinical. also, thats the first time ive ever been relegated on this game or the older versions, shows what a task i had on, i did well to get promoted anyway, but thats why im sticking with it, i too get bored after a while but this story is by no means done. you all know im an FM legend anyway ..................
morris1234 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Legendarilly shit? legendarilly better than you! oooooooooooooooooooooh
dandannieldanok Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Legendarilly shit? I take that award, relegated with Hereford on 19 points, but didn't get sacked!
morris1234 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I take that award, relegated with Hereford on 19 points, but didn't get sacked! fair play for taking it on in the first place, they have a shhhhhhhite squad!
Finnegan Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 legendarilly better than you! oooooooooooooooooooooh Pft.
potter3 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Player. Possibly the best technical I've seen for a player.
morris1234 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Player. Possibly the best technical I've seen for a player. whos that?
MarkDeVries Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I fcuking knew Nicolas Millan would be good, though it isnt to hard to predict
Fox You Forest Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Quite obviously a regen. Yeah from FML judging by the skin.
potter3 Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Yeah from FML judging by the skin. Yeah from FML, not a regen though, Van der Vaart
AmericanScott Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Haven't played for a month now but thought i'd pick up where i left off. This game was so entertaining
shen Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 As for the rest schedule and work loads issue, I usually have extremely light work loads as I always over-do my coaching staff anyway unless I'm in a terribly low division. I hate being at a club and only being allowed three coaches. At Sankt Pauli I have about 15 on the go at the moment on the first team alone.I'm sorry Danny but that really was one of your howlers. That's the thing, if you're not at a club allowing an unlimited number of coaches, and your squad size is quite big, you need to manage it to keep the work load at 'light'. Actually, what happens when the coaches have an average work load? Does it in anyway worsen training? @DB11: I do believe the rolleyes were justified Also, what does Saivet look like for you? Always has enormous potential on these games but in 09 he starts out pretty old already and never fully seems to improve. My friend bought Saivet for Stoke in 2010 in our network game, this is what he looks like in January 2012:
