Aleksz Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Can you get byes in the carling cup like in the jpt? because everyone is playing in the carling cup 1st round exept me!?
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Have just sold a 21 year old Pacheco for 9m, he came for 60k. Not bad that.
Samilktray Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Gonna spend all night on this, thinking of doing a League 1 team, not sure who though. Swindon maybe...
MarkDeVries Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 I've not been on FM for a while? Any suggestions. I was thinking Almeria for some reason. Any sort of teams like that would be nice
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Bilbao is fun.For about a season. Do they go nuts the first time you sign a foreigner?
lildave3 Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Do they go nuts the first time you sign a foreigner? You can't. That's why it's only fun for a season
Edmund Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Im currently in 2017. The longest ive played any single fm game. Ive had it going for months and just play it bit by bit till I get bored. Im currently Triestiena in Italy. How come Ive sold 23000 season tickets yet get an average attendace of 16,000 I see you lot were discussing regens. Are regens just the old players who have retired and then start again with the same potential etc at a random club with the same nationality or are they just completely randomly generated?

Regens are totally random players, yeah. Basically the youth players that generate in every team's accademy every season. Championship is a piss take. Championship is easy. I don't mean to be rude but you must be the single most inept FM player ever. I thought it was impossible to be bad at this game. Go read the official forums for a few guides or something.
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 I thought I was good at the game! I can win in pretty much every league besides this one, it happens all the time. I can never find the right balance or formation that will win me games in the championship. Bugger off am I reading guides either.
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Every league in the game is the same. The only thing that differs is the standard of players in it. Get some food players, set them to a fairly basic attacking formation, piss the league. fook it. Do you want a 1 striker formation or a 2 striker formation?
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Whichever one you think's best. I've got a couple of strikers so 2 would be nice. I think my defence is part of the problem tbh, a 35 year old Bobo Balde and 31 year old Seyfo Soley aren't quite cutting it.
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Sec, uploading. The game is simple. If you concede too many goals, get a new keeper / defender. If you don't score enough get a new midfielder / striker. Who are you and what season is it?
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Rotherham, 2011. I think I've done well to get to the Championship tbh. And it's not easy to just go out and buy a new player when you've got no money whatsoever and havn't had any since you started with them.
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Regens / free signings / loans. 4 4 2 diamond. I don't want to hear any ungrateful shit about how it doesn't work. It does work. It works in the Championship, The Premiership, League One, The 2 Bundesliga, The Bundesliga, The Champions League. It's a fast, direct (and I mean direct, not long-ball) tactic and if it doesn't work for you it's because you've either messed around with it, you're giving shocking team talks or your players aren't good enough. I'm not saying it's the world's best formation but it's one that works. If it doesn't work in the first game, stick with it, your players need to adjust. Do not keep changing tactics for home / away games. It's a myth that you need to do this. Don't even untick "Counter Attacking" when you play at home. It's designed to work like that and it WILL work like that. Key players in the formation are your AMC, AML and AMR. **BE WARNED**: The strikers are set to swap positions with each other. If you do not like this feature, disable it. Keep in mind that if you move players about within the formation the "Swap Positions" moves with them so, for example, if you swap a winger with a striker one of your other strikers will keep trying to go in the wing spot too. Basically, double check before you confirm tactics (or just turn it off, it isn't a massive difference tbh.) Also note that the AMC has "Free Role" ticked. If your AMC isn't especially creative you might want to untick that.
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 You ledge. I'll try it now. Wtf, that's not a diamond >_>
dandannieldanok Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 I don't want to hear any ungrateful shit about how it doesn't work. Wtf, that's not a diamond >_> You have unleashed hell Ozwin.
Finnegan Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 You ledge. I'll try it now.Wtf, that's not a diamond >_> 4 1 2 1 2 the computer calls it. It's a 4 4 2 with an AMC and a DM, that's a diamond as far as I'm concerned.
Ozwin Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 I'm interested in your team talk routine too Finn? I tend to go for 'Wish luck' when I'm at home and 'For the supporters' when away from home, it worked for the first 3 seasons then decided not to this year annoyingly.
