Finnegan Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Poor, in my opinion. Wouldn't get in my side. I've stricter standards with strikers than anything else. Those stats on a seventeen year old and fair enough I'd play him every game to get him to improve but at 21 he's not going to be seeing major improvements every few games. Can't jump or head, average finishing and composure, can run fairly quick with the ball but that's about it. Would take Gignac, Lewandowski or Falcao over him.
Lovejoy Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I'll raise you a 21 year old that drastically improves: Andres Guardado .
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Guardado doesn't really need to drastically improve, he's insane to begin with. Moreover he's also worth about £30m (probably about £50m to buy first season!) I can sign a front five to challenge for the Top Four with that alone.

And When I'm home I'll post a screenie of him at the start, and then a few years later. Pretty vast improvement.

Pretty vast improvement. £20m release fee at Depor!? Are they nuts!? Still. You could get Gignac, Lewandowski, Falcao, Helder Barbosa, Schneiderlin and Kroos for that £20m. I know what I'd rather do.
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Sigh. Guess who I just drew in the Champions League semi finals?
Ozwin Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 The championship is a bastard, my side isn't even bad! I just can't win. Upload an away tactic for me please bitches.

I play the same tactic home and away. Can't be arsed uploading it again, you must have it in here somewhere. The 4 - 5 - 1 tactic called Swans something is perfect for the Championship.

Would take Gignac, Lewandowski or Falcao over him. Wouldn't say he's poor, he does quite well in the Prem. And if a 19 year old had those stats, I guarantee you'd buy him, seriously... especially if your scout said he had more potential. Obviously you can get better, but how do you play your games? Eg. how many (playable) leagues do you include? I've noticed it gets extremely hard to sign players like Lewandowski, Falcao, Gignac before they sod off to bigger clubs, especially when you're a side with limited resources to strengthen the whole squad. Even though I love Gignac, I'd never end up buying him, cos by the time I can afford him, I've already got lots of cheaper and better alternatives (mostly regens) lined up. And Pacheco is very poor in that game. He's at Castilla and has woeful physical and mental stats, but good technical ones.
Maybes Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Cheers then Madrid £25,000,000 for Nasri will do nicely.

And if a 19 year old had those stats, I guarantee you'd buy him, seriously... especially if your scout said he had more potential. Sure, but he's not nineteen which is two years of his best developing time I've lost out on. Add to that the fact that I've had Saivet before on this latest version and even with top training and consistent games his development was no way near as quick as some other good youngsters on this. As far as I know I think he's still a "-10" on FM but I've really found him disappointing in this release. In 07 I had him straight away every time, not now. Obviously you can get better, but how do you play your games? Eg. how many (playable) leagues do you include? Currently Germany, Italy, Spain and England all have a number of leagues down. Portugese, Dutch, Brazillian, Argentinian, Mexican, Croatian, Serbian and Czech first leagues. Uhm, Russian premier league, errr.. think that's it. All the best regens on my game are coming from Norway! They're insane. Roma got the best of them for free, I'm gutted I missed out. He's 21 and "World Class Striker" seriously - he spawned with nearly all red stats. I've noticed it gets extremely hard to sign players like Lewandowski, Falcao, Gignac before they sod off to bigger clubs Not sure what database you're using, as I've said before I dislike "January" databases so I've still got the original going and Falcao rarely ever gets signed in the first two seasons if at all, Gignac goes at the end of the first one to be fair but both of them can be brought for £5m each in the first window. If you're playing as a top-flight club that's generally fairly affordable if you offload some dead wood. Lewandowski rarely gets bought by anyone top class and usually can be gotten at the end of the first season for £1m but DB11 said it's way harder to get him on the January database to be fair so I'm not sure. especially when you're a side with limited resources to strengthen the whole squad. Even though I love Gignac, I'd never end up buying him, cos by the time I can afford him, I've already got lots of cheaper and better alternatives (mostly regens) lined up. Oh yeah, fair enough on the first part. I'm currently playing as St Pauli and it's taken me quite a few seasons to get players. You only get about £10m a season and that's if you're succesful! I've signed a phenominal amount on free transfers, though. I got Lev' and I've been very lucky with regen strikers on my game. I have three of them that are "leading Bundesliga strikers" and all are very young. All of them are better than Saivet and still have potential and it would cost me about £13m to buy Saivet (21 years old, 12 finishing) from Bordeaux at this point. And Pacheco is very poor in that game. He's at Castilla and has woeful physical and mental stats, but good technical ones. Ah fair enough then. Like I said, I've only seen him on one game - I imagine I've gotten lucky here.
GLC Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Been offered the Bayern Munchen job with 35 mil to spend, should i take it?
Finnegan Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Been offered the Bayern Munchen job with 35 mil to spend, should i take it? Depends where you are at the moment and if you enjoy it. I've found the German league good fun to play in but I think playing as Bayern would be too easy for my tastes.

Im Barrow town in the PL in 2013, 3rd after 28 games 2 points behind 2nd(chelsea), 4 behind 1st(arsenal) the board has already given me the vote of confidence though Only problem is Bayern are 16 points off the top and are currently in 8th

Finnegan Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Is that even mathematically possible? Presumably if you put then in BSN it's still going to take like six years to get to the Prem?
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Yeah but it would mean winning the Conference Prem, League 2, League 1 and Championship in four consecutive seasons.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 They start in the BSP. Either way he's cheated massively, no way that's possible.
SMX11 Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Its quite easy tbh, the first season is the hardest but with the amount of quality free transfers available you can easily move up the leagues. I nearly got bradford to the prem in three seasons (i know thats a lot easier than barrow) but i lost in the play off final against watford tamas priskin 86 minute but now i got the juve job

lcfc_jme Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Interesting! But thanks. Also, what does Saivet look like for you? Always has enormous potential on these games but in 09 he starts out pretty old already and never fully seems to improve. Saivet looks pretty poor for me, it has to be said. I signed him when he was 19 but he only played 25 out of my 50-odd games due to injury. Has bizarrely come back from injury to be labelled a wonderkid, though .. I guess now he's learning the language and being labelled a wonderkid, he'll improve properly if he stays injury free. We'll see - will post a screenshot when I get time to play. These two are quality, though: He's just lost his wonderkid status, but Real Madrid want him and offered me £25,000,000 with a 40% sell-on fee! And this kid is quite obviously labelled a wonderkid, won Prem Young Player of the Season and is just phenomenal, to be fair:
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I'm sorry GLC but you're never going to convince me.
