The Reverend Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I'm pretty sure that Emile Heskey would think that most of the posts on this subject are thoughtless as well.I had always thought theterm Bruno was suspect and not flatering and this was confirmed by someone on another board who knows him. Yes, i regularly refer to Kerrea Gilbert, Max Gradel and Lloyd Dyer as Bruno. I am a huge racist.

How do you know Emile doesn't like being called Bruno?
The People's Hero Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Yes, i regularly refer to Kerrea Gilbert, Max Gradel and Lloyd Dyer as Bruno. I am a huge racist. I think we should call Bruno Berner, Hansel - or Gretel.
Finchy Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 How do you know Emile doesn't like being called Bruno? I'm still waiting for the answer to this too.
Alexikokopops Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Scratch Leroy, let's rename him Darius Henderson. The real Darius Henderson doesn't do that name the justice it deserves.
Corky Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I'm calling you a bit daft for not thinking it through and realising that it may actually be insulting to our Emile. How were we meant to know if he didn't come out and say it publicly then?
GLC Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Yes, i regularly refer to Kerrea Gilbert, Max Gradel and Lloyd Dyer as Bruno. I am a huge racist. I think we should call Bruno Berner, Hansel - or Gretel. i wonder of hes fat then? all that chocolate roofing might i add pointless topic!
Hackneyisblue Posted 12 September 2008 Author Posted 12 September 2008 How do you know Emile doesn't like being called Bruno? When Heskey moved to Liverpool in one of his first interviews he said he hoped that the Liverpool fans wouldn't call him Bruno.
Hackneyisblue Posted 12 September 2008 Author Posted 12 September 2008 How were we meant to know if he didn't come out and say it publicly then? Perhaps by using some common sense, you don't go into the local corner shop and mention the word P*** do you, or refer to black people as n****** even though they may call each other that.
Samilktray Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Perhaps by using some common sense, you don't go into the local corner shop and mention the word P*** do you,or refer to black people as n****** even though they may call each other that. Give it a rest.
Munzie Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I thought all black people were called Bruno
syston_fox Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Perhaps by using some common sense, you don't go into the local corner shop and mention the word P*** do you,or refer to black people as n****** even though they may call each other that. slightly different to calling him Bruno! Incidentally, would the club call him Bruno as well if he hated it? http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/ClubT...1108190,00.html
Trumpet Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 Perhaps by using some common sense, you don't go into the local corner shop and mention the word P*** do you,or refer to black people as n****** even though they may call each other that. So now your stereotyping people who own corner shops. How is calling Emile Heskey, Brunio - now hes Italian.. \ I meant bruno, don't get the race police on me. / racist? Its pathetic. He may not like being called Bruno, fair enough. But it's not racist. If a black man called me Peter Crouch for example, would that make him racist? No. I'm not making it look like black people can't be racist either, its just an example.
Jimmy Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 slightly different to calling him Bruno!Incidentally, would the club call him Bruno as well if he hated it? http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/ClubT...1108190,00.html I think that kinda ends the argument, the club would of been told by Heskey to not call him that if he hated it

Zingari Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 i think his dad is called Tyrone and has uncles ( or cousins ) called Lincoln and Everton
Sods Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 I remember his first interview in the sun when he left to Liverpool. Big Headlines, 'Dont call me Bruno'. I love Heskey and il always call him Bruno, I dont thinks its racist, i think its a complimant. And something he deserves, hes been a legend. I used to get exicited as kid when he picked up the ball and run at the opposition. They would shit themselves. The crowd would love it and all you could here would be Bruno Bruno Bruno.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 i think his dad is called Tyrone and has uncles ( or cousins ) called Lincoln and Everton Are his Nephews called Stockport, Bedford and Swindon?
Hackneyisblue Posted 12 September 2008 Author Posted 12 September 2008 I think that kinda ends the argument, the club would of been told by Heskey to not call him that if he hated it The club know we don't like pre-match music and hate Chelsea Dagger, so your point is?
Jimmy Posted 12 September 2008 Posted 12 September 2008 The club know we don't like pre-match music and hate Chelsea Dagger, so your point is? my point is in Emile Heskey, Gary Lineker or Muzzy Izzet (to name but 3) didn't like being referred to by a certain name the club wouldn't call them that, the Chelsea Dagger thing is totally different, yes the majority on here don't like it but that doesn't mean the majority of fans in general don't
