davieG Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 JOSH LOW has been sensationally transfer listed by new Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen, less than three weeks after he joined the club on a two-year contract. Low, who was hauled off by the Cheltenham boss after just 24 minutes on Saturday, is one of six players that Allen has deemed surplus to requirements. Jerry Gill, Craig Armstrong, Andy Lindegaard are the other players to join Low and the existing listed pair Lee Ridley and Aaron Ledgister on the transfer list. The new Robins boss has wasted little time in trying to stamp his authority and presence on the team. Within minutes of being formally introduced as the new manager, Allen took a call from Bristol City manager Gary Johnson to secure the loan signing of winger Scott Murray. He has also added defender Drissa Diallo to the squad and has taken the decision to list players who aren't going to feature in the first team. "I have taken this decision after much thought and discussion with my staff." said Allen "Results have shown clearly that the first team squad needs to be improved and for me personally, we have far too many players here who are not really threatening the first team." Allen hopes to secure the third signing of his reign later this afternoon and will continue his endevour to strenthen the squad within the confines of the transfer window. "We need our first XI improved so I have spoken to all of the players personally." Allen said. "This is nothing to do with their attitudes because all of them have been absolutely first class since I've been here. "They are all good players and all good lads but I do need to make some changes."
Guest Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 "Results have shown clearly that the first team squad needs to be improved and for me personally,we have far too many players here who are not really threatening the first team." I'm sure they'll get enough of that from Allen himself anyway
Corky Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Oh dear. I see Allen is stamping his "authority" already.
Flynny Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 On a serious note, I'm calling a Hayes move at some point.
Ultra Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 On a serious note, I'm calling a Hayes move at some point. No great loss..
Flynny Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 No great loss.. Not really no, but he's still the person to have put in the loudest, hardest cross I've ever seen at the Walkers.
Asha Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Low is shit. Well played Martin Allen, expect Djeziri and Hellings to be bought in at some point.
Father Ted Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Low is shit.Well played Martin Allen, expect Djeziri and Hellings to be bought in at some point. I heard a rumour that the day he left us he had a heart-attack...
davieG Posted 22 September 2008 Author Posted 22 September 2008 Low is shit.Well played Martin Allen, expect Djeziri and Hellings to be bought in at some point. I doubt Allen signed either of these for us it was probably that McKay guy.
lcfc_jme Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 No great loss.. I concur. Hayes is a **** and I for one would not be sad to see him go. willy puller. As for Josh Low, bless him! And suprise suprise Allen is planning on bringing in more new faces for his new club. 'Cos many of his signings here were great successes
Lovejoy Posted 23 September 2008 Posted 23 September 2008 I thought Martin Allen liked shit players .
Jay Posted 23 September 2008 Posted 23 September 2008 I heard a rumour that the day he left us he had a heart-attack... which is a typical rumour then as it's a lood of crap!! he left us because he managed to get an offer from a team in Belgium called Westerlo and left us to sign for them As for Allen I am now positive this bloke is a complete media seeking egotistical cock head NOT because he has ditched Josh Low but because of the way he goes about things I mean accepting a call in the press conference to announce he had the job about signing a player is just ridiculous. I am so happy we now have a manager who doesn't crave this sort of attention and concentrates on the job in hand and nothing else
Daggers Posted 23 September 2008 Posted 23 September 2008 As for Allen I am now positive this bloke is a complete media seeking egotistical cock head I hope he does well or crashes and burns - because either way will let us know who to really blame for last season, him or MM.
ousefox Posted 26 September 2008 Posted 26 September 2008 Low, who was hauled off by the Cheltenham boss after just 24 minutes on Saturday,
