Blackadder: Right Baldrick, let's try again shall we? This is called adding. If I have two beans, and then I add two more beans, what do I have?

Baldrick: Some beans.

Blackadder: Yes... and no. Let's try again shall we? I have two beans, then I add two more beans. What does that make?

Baldrick: A very small casserole.

Blackadder: Baldrick, the ape creatures of the Indus have mastered this. Now try again. One, two, three, four. So how many are there?

Baldrick: Three.

Blackadder: What?

Baldrick: ...and that one.

Blackadder: Three and that one. So if I add that one to the three what will I have?

Baldrick: Oh. Some beans.

Blackadder: Yes. To you Baldrick, the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people, wasn't it?

Not really relevant I know but Milktrays culinary dilemma made me think of this for some reason, and I do like to shoehorn in a bit of Blackadder. :D

meatball casserole didn't go quite to plan. The Meatballs fell apart and the carrots were too crunchy.

Oh and i hate you jamie oliver with your 30 minute meals - cheating by using chapattis out of a packet - thats all i wanted a recipe for.

At least you had a go  .

Can't cook to say my life. I managed to get bean juice in my eye, therefore leaving me with no option, other than to have a 'Rustlers' lol.

Did you part cook the carrots before chucking them in the casserole? I think you have to boil and simmer them first for 5 or 10 minutes or something like that first to take the crunch away.

yeah. Boiled them for about 5 minutes, could have done with a bit longer.

out a tin or from scratch?

From scratch, just take 1 celeriac, 1 parsnip, half a swede, 2 carrotts, an onion, some vine tomatoes and half a head of garlic, roast it off in the oven with some parsley and thyme after parboiling the carrotts and parsnips, cover for half an hour after roasting, then whizz it in a food processor with a jug of veg stock, then add in some milk, whizz again and add butter and seasoning, dee-lish!

Off to the Good Food Show at the NEC end of this month including going to the supertheatre to see Gordon Ramsay, so hoping to get some good tips from that!

Cooking a meal for my gf tomorrow because it is our anniversary and I'm a bit poor (and because you can't shag in a restaurant). No idea what to make her though any ideas? It has to be nice and it has to have meat in it but they are pretty much the only criteria.

Coat your cock in sugar

If that doesn't work chilli con carne. The recipe is on the back of the mix packet that you buy in the shop and it's stupidly easy to make.
