Corky Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 Leicester City won't. I'll have to go in the S and R this season- I want to meet you Daggs, before you leave
Daggers Posted 1 February 2009 Author Posted 1 February 2009 I'll have to go in the S and R this season- I want to meet you Daggs, before you leave I'm not meeting death, well - not unless the collected mass ranks of the BNP/Hooligan supporting FTers are planning on coming for a drink.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 No apparently about it - I'm not renewing.I've loved this divisions away grounds, as crappy as some are they make me feel like I am at a game - not some corporate event like the fanfare playing, pre-match dining facilities, business box, "C'mon You Foxes!" modern City experience. A packaged, soulless and barren matchday that doesn't really exist for me outside of the pre & post-match drinks. The club have spent seasons twisting the truth, treating us all like idiots and then playing on our sentiments to renew our direct debits. Not me, not anymore. I'm not renewing next season either. Moving to L1 has been a lot more enjoyable but it still doesn't make it worth £31 in travel alone every home game for another season. I don't have that kind of money.

Might be an idea to send an email to the club telling them why you're not renewing, or else it just perpetuates itself with the leicester trying to remedy a drop in season ticket sales with initiatives to bring more kids in and rah rah rah.
clazkel Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 This season it seems like many of the ****** that went to away games have stopped going as much as they used to, which has been a big plus for me personally.Without bringing up the no-shirts debate, which was taken completely the wrong way, I think our support this year has improved a great deal and took a lot of plaudits from the teams we've played. Next season I hope the same bunch carry on going, hopefully a few more teenage lads and lasses because we don't have enough of them at the moment for me. Yes i agree with you, the support this season has improved, especially away from home, and it makes away games that much more enjoyable. Even though last season we were relagated i feel the last 6 or so away games of the season the support started improving. Maybe it was due to people wanting to support the team as there was a chance we would go down, but i feel the support started to improve towards the end of last season, and alot of the supporters who went away games towards the end of last season now sit in L1 or near to L1 which makes the atmosphere at home games abit better than the last few season. I could be wrong but thats what i think
Tommeh Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 Pretty much the same as Ched and Daggers, the buzz for home games has gone for me a bit, whether its this league with 17k attendances, sub 500 away fans I don't know but that combined with uni next year means I won't be renewing the st. Still hoping to carry on with all the aways, this season has been fantastic on the road, worth every penny whereas I feel I've only really had good value for money from 3 home games.
Jimmy Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 I hope to be renewing mine but that depends on the work situation
clazkel Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 Im going to renew mine, but i do prefer the away games. Shame you cant buy an away season ticket. Away games have been quality this season so far, whereas home games have little atmosphere (although it has improved) and the odd booing gets on my nerves
Hullfox Posted 1 February 2009 Posted 1 February 2009 Leicester City won't. I won't miss you either. Well I will but not in a gay way.
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 We'll be back in the Championship - the club do cheap tickets every other week in the Championship. I'll go on cheap ticket days but I thought I may follow a team through the JPT as it really won me over this season as being a very worthwhile competition. Sounds like you're liking it in League One... Or are you??? Anyway, gotta see you again before the season ends. Either Stockport or Leeds (getting a ticket will be a toughie, though) at home should do. Also, realize that you'll have to live with a lot more fashion fans IF we should make it back to the Championship. Bigger gates, more fans, more potential scùm showing up.
MC Prussian Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I'm drunk again. It doesn't show yet. Drink some more.
Cobbo Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 It doesn't show yet.Drink some more. I bloody shall!
Thracian Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Well, we'll miss you. Everyone who knows him would miss the guy and, with any luck, he'll have a rethink.

That is actually a very good idea. If anyone really is thinking of not renewing, let Peter Jones know ([email protected]). He can then pass it onto the relevant people.

It is a good idea - but I can't help but feel that it will be treated as seriously as any other comment or suggestion that has been passed on to the club over the last five years. If they care about it at all then they'll contact me, I can't say I am bothered enough to go to the extent of sending yet another email to the club only to receive a reply that manages to ignore any of my points and insult my intelligence in equal measure.

If enough people were to email with their reason, maybe the club will actually sit up and listen. When you sit in one of the FCC meetings, and the point about STH numbers going down is raised, it is hard to try and explain why so many are getting dissatisfied with City without having something to back it up. I just get called cynical etc.
Daggers Posted 2 February 2009 Author Posted 2 February 2009 If enough people were to email with their reason, maybe the club will actually sit up and listen. True - but I think there'll just be a few and they'll be replaced by those who only go to games in Div.II or above. I'll not send one now as it's too soon but I will do something at the end of the season
Katy Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I've gone to more away games this season than the last few but that's due to having a bit more money. I think I will renew my ST but not sure where yet, the kop is wank.

Granno Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I will be renewing. The whole point of me going to Leicester Uni is so I can still go to the football.
Fosse Boy Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I will be renewing. The whole point of me going to Leicester Uni is so I can still go to the football. Dedication!
