gerrytaggart Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 yep same me.... listen to yourselves.....WTF?!?!?! cant we just enjoy our current situation...people on this message board managed to ruin the 4-0 win for me by whinging like little girls with their tits caught in their zips. dis meh team, look how we flyin high so.
Wozski Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Just a bit bored at work and been checking back through previosu seasons League One final positions........... only went back to 2005/06 as it got a bit confusing..... Division Three, Division One, Coca Cola League Two all that bollox............ anyway............ from my brief reasearch, it looks like promotion can be achieved with around 82 / 85 points, meaning we'd only (I don't mean only as in thats dead easy!) need another 35 points or so......... and when you look at some of the rubbish in this division, compared to our squad, 35 points out of a possible remaining 75 points, looks well, acheiveable!! I think if we keep Fryatt in January and don't get to many injuries, we're definately going up!!! Hope I'm not speaking too much out of turn!!

Hope I'm not speaking too much out of turn!! Points to get promoted (Champions' points in brackets) 2001/02 84 (90) 2002/03 86 (100) 2003/04 83 (90) 2004/05 86 (98) 2005/06 79 (82) 2006/07 85 (91) 2007/08 82 (92) So it looks like we need about 84 points to finish second. Interestingly it never seems to be close between the first and second place teams, with the exception of 2005/06 when Southend and Colchester went up
footballno7 Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Have you seen Matty's website, such a sound fella - http://www.mattyfryatt.com/blog/21529.Thir...asn_t%20to%20be ...and hopefully not leaving!!
Narborough Bod Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 With or without a broken head, Hume is better than Fryatt in pretty much every aspect of the game.I know you don't like Hume very much, and I can understand that he can be a frustrating fella who gets on your tits now and then, but the lad would rip this tinpot league a new arsehole. not the most important aspect, everyone moans because Fryatt is only doing it in the 3rd Tier.. Hume at Tranmere - 32 league goals in 100 starts + 49 subs apps Fryatt at Walsall - 27 league goals in 49 games + 21 starts Correct me if I am wrong but I think they were both in Div 1 at the time so on this comparison Fryatt is a better forward.

I can accept Fryatt's goal-to-game ratio was better when they both were in this division, but Hume is the better all-round player though. Fryatt is slow and can't win a header despite being 3 inches taller than Hume. I know it's all irrelevant to this season, but I just feel if Hume were down here with us he'd be ripping defenders to shreds.

We're in this division for one season and one season only. So why not break a few records while we're here? For example, going up as champions on the highest ever points tally achieved over a season or recording the highest ever crowd attendance at a league 1 fixture? Now, I'm no statto, but there must be some record(s) we can have a go at bettering while we are here surely.

Im sure they got like 37K last year near the end of the season.

Hume in a pivotal role behind the 2 playing as a bald Canadian broken headed version of Zola!! Fryatt would have 40 already by now!!

clazkel Posted 25 December 2008 Posted 25 December 2008 http://www.mattyfryatt.com/blog/21585.Goal...for%20Leicester I think Fryatt plans on scoring alot more, but hes not saying what his target is. I hope he scores another hat trick tomorro, that would be a great way to celebrate the new contract and trip to Leeds

Filbert_Ross Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 i said somewhere at the start of the season that he wouldnt score 20 goals this season, I also bet my mate £10 that he wouldnt score 15 goals in all competitions (ive paid up, no bumping here) and ill take this moment to hold my hands up and say I was wrong.
Daggers Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 I think there's a salient difference between being "anti" Fryatt and simply being objective about his shortcomings. You know, Smithers Daggers, "I told you so" has a brother. His name is, "Shut the hell up"!
