Kilworthfox Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 At present we lack a natural leader on the field! I believe if we had a driving force in the same mould as Roy Keane not as a player but the mentallity would be nice. I have selected the most experienced members so who do you think?

I doubt Tunchev's english is fantastic, which will probably rule him out. Kisnorbo I think.
Munzie Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Let's get Pugwash or Birsdeye in on loan. They are tried and tested captains. If not available, what about Jack Sparrow?

Munzie Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 There can be only one: In my 39 years of being on this planet, I have obviously missed out. Who?
Munzie Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 What about... I did find this one as well. What's he holding?
Finnegan Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Is that just every "older" player in the squad? That's how you've amassed this list? Oh I can't wait 'til Thracian reads this. ... oh ... no, nevermind. I can.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Voted Tunchev. He only knows winning from his days in Bulgaria. Surely his grasp of the language would've improved a little?

That's how you've amassed this list?Oh I can't wait 'til Thracian reads this. ... oh ... no, nevermind. I can. I don't really give a shit. If people think age equates to good captaincy fine but I'd oubt it's a concept that would stand up to examination at City in recent seasons.

If people think age equates to good captaincy fine but I'd oubt it's a concept that would stand up to examination at City in recent seasons. I don't think that age neccessarily gives anyone better credentials to be a captain, but, out of our current squad, I would have shortlisted those that Kilworth has for the role. There certainly is potential for the likes of, say, King or Morrison, to become captains in the near future, but first and foremost they must ensure that they become more vocal characters on the pitch. When back form injury, if chosen to start, I think that Dickov would be a good shout.
Lovejoy Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Tbh I reckon Morrison would be the best captain, but isn't the best footballer we have so probably won't be in the starting 11. Therefore I've gone for Big Steve. Does a load of dirty work, takes unecessary shit but gets on with it.
Daggers Posted 28 October 2008 Posted 28 October 2008 Can any of you 19 people currently voting Kisnorbo please explain to me precisely what he did over the previous two disastrous seasons to indicate that he is in anyway up for being a captain? Remembering last season in particular - where he was regularly slagged off on here for his piss poor attitude and ability to go walkabout. Bottom line - no one changes club captain/vice captain mid-season and it isn't going to happen here. Next season we need to buy someone with leadership abilities.
