Milan calls on Blue Army to raise the roof!

Milan Mandaric today called on the Blue Army to "raise the roof" at the Walkers Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The Leicester City chairman issued an impassioned plea to the club's supporters on the eve of their League One clash with Bristol Rovers (3.0).

"We have a young team but this side needs encouragement, and that's why I'd ask everyone who is coming to the game to really get behind the manager and the players, and raise the roof," said Mandaric.

"Let's create a great atmosphere and then take that into every game for the remainder of this season."

On Tuesday, Mandaric said the fans who barracked the team during home draws against Walsall and Northampton should "take their money to the pub".

His suggestion prompted a massive response from City fans which has been reflected in the Mercury this week.

Today, the chairman attempted to explain the reasons behind his earlier comments.

He said: "I may be the chairman of this football club but, deep down, I am a supporter like everyone else, and want to see us doing well and winning matches.

"But I hate to hear booing and, considering the position we currently find ourselves in, I felt as though I needed to come out in the local press and try to help put a stop to it once and for all."

In midweek, City slipped to sixth spot in League One following the midweek 3-2 defeat at Brighton. It was their first away defeat of the league campaign and left them with a haul of just three points from the last 12 available.

Mandaric said: "I felt so disappointed after our defeat at Brighton and certainly felt for those fans who had taken time off work to travel down to the south coast and cheer us on.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we are still very well placed in the table, with a good manager at the helm who I know will get things right on the field and get us out of this division."

Mandaric said he had "purposely" adopted a low profile as City made a flying start to their bid to climb back into the Championship at the first attempt.

"I have purposely taken a back seat since the start of the season because Nigel and his staff have been doing a great job.

"But after a frustrating few results I felt the time was right to speak up and make sure that everyone was still pulling in the same direction," he said.

"Although expectations are understandably high this season, we should be one happy family and be united in our goal."

Telling those that are booing to go down the pub is not the way to unite a family is it!

HE is right tho' when you look at it, when our fans have got behind the players and their is a great atmosphere in and around the stadium the players play well. MK Dons etc, but when people start booing and getting we play poor, northants.

People need to put that behind them and go with a positive feeling and start signing whatever it takes just get behind the players be the "12th man" and im sure they will repay us!

It would be amusing if a few thousand of our fans took this rally cry literally and all tried to climb up the stadium and take the roof off.

indeed it would or get 20,000 fans to jump up and down then the stadium would come down let alone the roof ...,. wednesday fans shown us that at the last home game last season

They will...

BOOOOOOOOOO!

I will

BOOOOOOOOOO!

You if i see you outside the ticket office again*

*Note that the booing that will be done outside the ticket office will be funny booing and not aimed at any players in particular

What about at Brighton Milan eh, when we was singing for 90 minutes, and only 3 fooking players came over to acknowledge us being there. Now you're telling me, that after Tuesdays shit, he expects everyone to be happy again, well sir, Fook off.

He's so fickle is our Milan. One day it's stay in the pub, you are all morons, now we are one big family.
People in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease may experience lapses of memory and have problems finding the right words. As the disease progresses, they may:

  • become confused, and frequently forget the names of people, places, appointments and recent events
  • experience mood swings. They may feel sad or angry. They may feel scared and frustrated by their increasing memory loss
  • become more withdrawn, due either to a loss of confidence or to communication problems.

How would it unite people? And saying they're not City fans is rubbish, many have paid out good money for years and years. A bit of spontaneous booing should not bring into question their loyalty it should be a wake up call to all those at the club not to take the paying fan for granted.

PS I don't and never have booed any players.
