Quantum of Solace

Yeh but Phube, I think you're missing the real point here.

How extremely hot was Olga Kurylenko?

Errr... well I spent the entire film thinking she looks like a cross between Catherine Zeta Jones and the character from Mirror's Edge.

Maybe?

Really enjoyed it although these films are my thing.

Decent enough storyline and good acting again from craig.

Would love to say more but I'm running late for dinner with olga kurylenko, cheers then.

Preferred the English one.

Decent bond film, shit directing. Editting is literally about the worst I've seen ever.

But not worse that the song or Lead Henchman's hair... surely!!!? :o

what is a quantum of solace ?

It is a phrase used in An Ian Flamming Bond novel.

I think to mean a piece (large or small) of solace.

Used here to be a nice link between Bond's need for solace after his lady was murdered, and QUANTUM the new S.P.E.C.T.R.E!

I saw this on Saturday at the Cinema de Lux. Complete let down. Started off as well as it finished last time round but then drifted as it went on, particularly in the last 30. The end was a mess and a total anticlimax.

Shame. I was expecting much more.

Oh and if you plan on having drinks at the cinema, they only cost around £4. You can buy a pint of Guiness for £3.85. Absolute bargain.

It gets better though. You can get a soft drink and popcorn combo for around £6. :giggle:

I saw it on Halloween at Meadowhall and it is good in places.

'Q' and 'money penny' are not in it, so thats dissapointing, although I don't they were in the last one.

Disappointed. Missed the trademark Bond humour. The storyline seemed worse than weak and and there wasn't enough build up to the action scenes. The whole thing was commercial rather than compelling. Five out of 10 tops.

What a fantastic film.

Coming from someone who hates Bond, only liked the latest 2 because there not as lame and corny as the older 1s.

I have grown to love Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo's Film Reviews on Podcast - and they have stopped me seeing it. I'll wait for aXXo to release a version.

Pretty much agree although I would give it 6.5/10. The storyline was awful.

I can't believe the evil vilan's masterplan was to

Steal water from Boliva - not even all of it, just 60% and sell it back to them at an inflated price- what rubbish!

How it started, I was intrieged to see where the story was going - but was do disapointed with the ending - action for action's sake is rubbish.

Funniest thing to the film was the car chase at the start.

Alpha something's chasing Bond's Martin.

I liked the film but I love every Bond, dont know why because some of them are awful. I even like On Her Majesty's Service. <_<

The storyline is pretty average for a Bond, not quite as gripping. If they increased the length of the film to the average length of a usual Bond film then it could be a whole lot better.

speaking of which, this is what annoyed me the most - they mention this great unknown organisation a few times and then, after the opera - boink - it isn't mentioned again - what happened to the 'Guy' character, and the siberian - nothing, just the french bloke and the fat pervert.

also, the chase in siena was very similar to the chase at the start of casino royal, without the cranes.

i was so excited about this movie, and whilst i enjoyed a lot of it, plot-wise, this was a real dissapointment. and the ONLY joke was in italian, and the subtitles, of course got changed into Norwegian. BOND SHOULD BE HUMOROUS!!!!

to be honest, this was no job for bond, this was a job for the Bolivian Water Board.

It is the second part of a trilogy... so nothing has been finalised yet!

oh, so this is effectively 'the empire strikes back' - stunning to look at, important to the development of the characters, but nothing actually happens and the audience is left slightly confused and wanting more...
