Someone spiked my drink last night

Mrs IoWF and I went to a private party in a pub last night. We were sat at a table with a couple of other girls who we know, chatting away and generally having a laugh - as you do!

After four pints it was time for me to strut my stuff so we all got up and had a dance, foolishly, as it turned out, leaving our drinks on the table.

After about 20 minutes we sat back down, had some of my lager and then I got this strange feeling that something wasn't quite right. I was talking normally and totally coherently but I had completely lost the use of my body physically.

My wife was up for calling an ambulance. She picked up my hand - it was lifeless. I couldn't move my legs. I just couldn't move at all. My breathing was as if I was having a panic attack. My heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. I sent wifey to the bar to get me a couple of pints of water which she had to pour into my mouth.

Fifteen minutes later it was all over. I was back to normal apart from feeling a bit shaken. Surely somebody spiked my drink.

The owner of the bar called the doorman over who told us that the guy who had been sitting at our table whilst we were dancing was a drug dealer. He wouldn't have let him in normally, but because he had a ticket to the private party, he allowed him entry.

The scary part was that I was totally aware of what was going on but I couldn't have prevented anyone from robbing me or worse, bum-rape.

My wife is really shocked at seeing how quickly I became totally helpless and then how quickly I recovered.

We both learnt a lesson last night - DON'T LEAVE YOUR DRINK UNATTENDED - EVER!

Cvnts, cvnts, cvnts. People who do this are absolute scum. My mate had something done to his drink once when we were out in Harborough, luckily a guy spotted the scumbag responsible and sent him packing before my mate was able to take a sip.

I'm unsure as to what you may or may not have been given but 15 minutes and it's all over seems a bit sudden!

Stuff like Rohypnol-Pills-GHB-Ketamin take hours to go through your system.

Are you sure someone didn't just leave a bottle of poppers open?

When I got back to the table after a boogie, I had about a third of the pint that I'd left unattended. The effects were almost immediate. Maybe if I'd had the whole pint, it might have knocked me out completely.

lol

It is true though, why would you buy drugs to put them into someone else's drink that 9/10 times you don't even know.

I dont understand what they get out of doing it though.

Unless there dragging them off after, in which case I do.

Me neither, it's pretty fooking pointless.

No  Pills and Ketamin dont!

One of the girls we were with is a blonde, blue-eyed, 5'10" tall stunner and as she was drinking the same as me, my wife thinks it was probably meant for her and it was put in the wrong drink.

The lads who we think did it left shortly after she did. We've spoken with her and she's fine.

The bar are going to check out their CCTV.

Worrying stuff but pleased you're ok.

My girlfriend and I went to Dublin for the weekend about 4 years ago and went clubbing on the Saturday night. We were having a few drinks at the bar in the club and I noticed a lad hanging around near us looking at her. He ended up sitting next to her on a long row of seats.

Anyway somehow he must have spiked her drink because about an hour into the night she started to get VERY excitable. She was going on about how happy she was, how excited about everything she was. I tried to convince myself she was just pissed (she is quite excitable anyway!) but deep down knew she had been spiked. I think after the lad saw she was going to be with me all night he f**ked off as I didn't see him again. She started to come down from it as we left the club and then completely passed out when we got back to our hotel.

We're pretty certain it was GHB. Popular drug to spike people with, in small amounts it has the effects above making it more likely a girl would just go off with the bloke who spiked her. In larger amounts it can just knock you out, again a dangerous effect. I think it's colourless and odourless.

The irony of the whole thing was that my girlfriend had a f**king great night. We were both a bit upset, angry and concerned about what might have happened when we woke up the following day (and she felt well ill) but overall this was one spiking with a happy ending.

Just need to be careful and use common sense I guess. From reading comments on here it sounds like a very common occurrence.

Its no laughing matter and a VERY scary experience.

My ex-girlfriend rang me once on a night out about 11ish sounding fine, rang back about 5 minutes later sounding like she'd had half a brewery then lost conciousness resulting in one of her mates taking her home and calling the police, this was after she had left her drink unattended on the table while going to the toilet.

It only takes a second and there are some real scum out there, my advice is never leave your drink unattended, if you are on the dancefloor with a bottle hold your thumb over the top so nothing can go in, even when I need a piss in a pub or club I take my pint with me, never even leave it with mates.

Happened to me and a friend several years ago in a club in Leicester. We'd been getting quite a lot of over-zealous, unwanted attention from a couple of guys and would it would have appeared (to the casual observer) that we were just there on our own. Fortunately we were with our respective other half's at the time who drove us home. We were feeling slightly 'spaced' when we left the club but by the time we were home (a 10 min drive away) were pretty much out of it by all accounts. I was trying to figure out how I was so pissed as I'd not had massive amounts to drink. Didn't think much more of it, went to bed but when I woke up the next morning I was clearly 'stoned' and felt like I'd been hit by a bus. I later found out my friend was in the same state. Took the full day to recover.

We could only assume that our drinks had been spiked (possibly by the guys we'd been trying to brush off), but it's seriously scary to think what might have happened had we not had a safe way of getting home with other folks.

Seriously, take care over this. :(

Thanks for asking, yes, I'm fine. You're right - it was scary more than anything else because you think of what might have happened to me or anyone else who gets their drink spiked.

I've managed to get the name of the known dealer who was sat at my table with his mate whilst I was dancing. Now just waiting to hear from the bar to see if anything showed up on the CCTV.

W*nkers!

What exactly is the point of spiking drinks anyway? I can kind of see the awful point of a bloke spiking a girls drink but why would a bloke spike a blokes? A less violent way of robbing someone maybe? It's weird that two lads in the space of less than a week that I know of have had their drinks done over :dunno:

Have you considered going to the doctor as this sounds more of a medical problem than one which would be drug related.

IoWFox was with a couple of females, which, by the sounds of it, at least one was quite attractive and receiving some attention from chaps in the bar.

IoWFox and the lady in question were drinking the same drink, so it sounds like if the drink *was* spiked, she was the intended target.

That makes sense. I wonder if the same thing happened to Jamie like that as well then.
