  1. 1. Fryatts Contract what should we do?

    • Don't renew and allow him to run it down and hope he fire us up
      9
    • Take a small sum from the sheep or another.
      6
    • Give him mega bucks to sign a long contract
      10
    • Keep him on the same deal but extend it a year or two
      74
    • Demand he takes a pay cut to stay
      2
  2. 2. And if he doesn't sign?

    • Play him regardless
      64
    • Def. sell him in Jan.
      33
    • Relegate him to the youth team!!

After a largely uncommented upon snip from yesterdays mockery suggested we are trying to renew his contract

what is your stance on the man?

Personally I want to sell him and get rid of him. If that means letting it run down so he plays well and gets us promoted, well then so be it but we know that he gets lazy when there is nothing at risk.

It would be stupid not to extend the top goalscorer's contract at the end of the season.

Wouldn't it?

Not when we have seen what he is incapable of in the Championship.

If we were to remain in League One then yes I'd want a contract extension.

The service was shite last year. You don't think if we went back up we'd have better service for the strikers, and Fryatt a couple years' more experience?

I'm with Walkers, you need to keep your top scorer.

"Thanks for the 40 goals you scored for us in our promotion season Matty, but as you're clearly incapable of scoring goals in the Championship, we've decided not to extend your contract beyond this season"

I dont care whether he's good enough for the Championship, he'll be a good squad player at least.

plus everyone seems to have forgotten that nob head kept playing him on the wing.

I personally would keep him.

This season could be a kick start in his career and he may come back to the Championship a brand new player.

Keep him for a year or two. He's scored goals this season, 15 in total, and for all his criticisms, that is a great amount. The division doesn't matter. He had a challenge to prove he could score goals, and he's stepped up to the plate.

I think he'll sign a new contract anyway.

Get him to sign one, because no matter how poorly he plays (not saying he is playing poorly dont bite my head off) hes scored lots of goals and is young, people will pay over £1mil for a goalscoring youngster.

Posted

Definately have to keep him, see what he can do after a full season playing and scoring.

Confidence at a high and in a better situation from when we went down, we have to give him a proper go in the championship (when we go up).

Got to keep him, up his contract, if you offer to extend his current contact, why would he want to stay when he could get a better one elsewhere. If he went we would regret it. He will go to a championship team and with service will prove what he can do, and the many people on here who say he will be no good in the championship will realise they were wrong (imo).

He was played out of position for many games last season, he wasn't fully fit and he didn't get the service. Give the guy a break, if he decides to leave the fans who give him stick may have swayed his decision to leave, why would you want our leading scorer to go? If you think Fryatt wont make it in the Championship then what about the other strikers we have? Do you think they would make in the championship, if our leading scorer can't?

Extension. Whether he deserves a pay increase is another matter, that should be deferred until he starts scoring at a better rate than he has done when we are back in the Championship.

He like the rest of our squad last season failed to perform...last season Fryatt was fat too. I think he'd get you 15 goals + if he was fit and had good service/partner in the Champ. He's arguably benefited the most from Pearson and having a clean slate.

RENEW!

To the tune of 'What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor?'

To which I believe the answer was 'Early in the mornin'

I believe the line 'Stick him in a bag and beat him senseless' is more fitting for Fryup.

Not a fan of Our Matty* then Sir?

So the general veiw on it is that matty should be given an extension,so where do the mercury get all the Collocks about the fans gettin on his back?!?!yet Howard doesnt even get a mention!ive heard more fans have an opinion on Howards poor performances and none about matty's....just leads me further to belive that the club pay andersons wages and not the mercury
