Leeds are hitting some brilliant form since losing to Huddersfield and battered Hartlepool around the pitch today scoring 9 goals in 2 games (beckford 5). Unfortunately I don't know how you played or whether you deserved the win, if you didn't then I can't see you being top for too long, especially with the 5 teams millimeters away from you, if you did then its all to play for. Winter is here and now we are starting a tough second third of the season. We are hitting outstanding form right now and I think we can pick up a lot of points now of this period. If you want to keep top spot then you need to keep these 5 teams at bay and really start playing. This period now is the real test over the winter.

You also need to maintain that form if you want to challenge, something that you have failed to do enough over the course of the season. City have been the best side in this division so far, the table does not lie. It will be a tough winter no doubt with some big games in there but I'm sure we have the mental toughness and the squad to cope with it. Plus Hartlepool's defence is known to be pretty weak. The fact that we probably haven't played football completely to our potential consistently and still find ourselves top is a great sign. As long as we can maintain good home form and keep up our solid away record, we'll be there or round abouts going into the final part of the season.

How do you know if you havent played to your potential? This is your first season here. Its easy for you to say that. How do you know what your potential is? Unfortunately we can't make the teams below us lose unless we're playing them... MK Dons - We've played, we've won. S****horpe - We've played, we've won. Millwall - We've played, we lost. Peterborough - We havn't played yet, Impossible to have effected them yet. Leeds - We havn't played yet, Impossible to have effected you. We can only play and win what is put in front of us, We have done that enough so far to be top.

I don't think we've played anywhere near our potential. There is far more to come and if we can work a gap of sorts I am 100% sure that we'll improve our goals difference still further by giving some teams a real tonking. With DJ back our attack has options and I really doubt that Howard will have such a lean time of it in the remaining games. Obviously, teams like Leeds and S****horpe remain a threat but it's MK Dons who seem to be the dark horses. They got a manager who could play the game and are scoring goals for fun. Our win over them at the start of the season was three points that may prove far more important than we imagined.

All we've done so far is put ourselves in with a chance, we need to consolidate and pull away over the 2nd third of the season if we really want to be able to say that we're going to win the league.
