Kind of yeah. One of the things you can tweak on the settings is "Luminance" or something like that and I think that's what you mean by the softness :)

Used a program called Photomatix. Good bit of software.

Got myself a new camera this week just messing around, just taken with a 20mm pancake lens to get to know how it works, fairly impressed with quality even I had only just worked out how to turn it on

Some shots from The Festival Of The Forties near Peterborough last Sunday.

The light and shadows were a pain in the bum all morning while I was there. One second big black clouds and the next bright sun. Did the best I could.

I had a go at photographing the Milky Way very early this morning from a place called Afton Down on the south of the island where there is very little light pollution. Amazing to see, even with the naked eye.
