Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Personally I'm a non-partaker of the Christmas festivities, but my favourite track with a festive bent is this Featuring Tim Burgess too (let's give him a credit since the vid doesn't ) and a shameless airing of Sarah Cracknell
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Probably The Pogues / Wham! if I'm being honest.
Webbo Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 If you hadn't started this thread Trav I was going to do it next week. This one is my favourite; Unfortunately you have to watch 2 mins of crap acting to get to the song.
Joe. Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I'm keen for a bit of Band Aid (original's best) and Fairytale of New York.
JakeShingler Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 The Pogues. Same love the origional one tho.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I'm pleased it's not just me that didn't get that.
JakeShingler Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Better than last years version with Amy McDonald
Libertine Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Better than last years version with Amy McDonald Who the hell even knows about that? Everyone is referring to the original, trust me.

Libertine Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I'm aware of the perfomance with Katie Melua, but that's it.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Love loads of Xmas ones:- Fairytale of New York by Shane MacGowan & The Pogues Stop The Cavalry by Jona Lewie Pipes Of Peace by Paul McCartney Gaudete by Steeleye Span Simply Having A Wonderful Xmas Time by Paul & Linda McCartney
lildave3 Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Jona Lewie - Stop the Cavalry is definitely my favourite, when that comes on I KNOW it's christmas. Followed by the Pogues/Kirsty Macoll.
Nod.E Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I like Status Quo's one that they just released (It's Christmas Time) Am I the only one who thinks it sounds remarkably like the red drawf theme?
Part Of The Crowd Posted 13 December 2008 Posted 13 December 2008 i personally favour the 1993 number one classic 'Mr Blobby' by mr blobby

Part Of The Crowd Posted 13 December 2008 Posted 13 December 2008 Not Can We Fix It by Bob The Builder? They could by the way. it was a toss up between the two but i think due to mister blobby being the only non human to get there let him slightly edge it, plus his song is absolutely hilarious

Number 6 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 There seem to be many campaigns to get Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah to number 1 instead of Alex. I hope this works, seems very unlikely but have downloaded it again anyway. It's currently #4 in the iTunes charts and now is getting support from Radio 1, here's hoping!

Buckley set for No.3 Its better than Rick whos campaign appears to have faultered. Lets just hope this publicity puts it at least to No.2
Part Of The Crowd Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 Leonard Cohen's version is on the up aswell we could be on for having Hallelujah in each of the top three positions, two of which are even the same version! the buckley one is my favourite though, such a troubled man and so sad he died so young, only 30

The word is thrown about all the time these days, but he really was. Had the greatest death ever too, drowned in a river whilst singing Led Zeppelin. Briiliant.
