Peterborough Post-Match Thread

On a serious note one thing I've always liked about Jobber is he uses the Drum in moderation, not all game, so it doesn't get boring and has an effect when he does use it.

Our next home game is Hereford next Sunday. Watch us struggle to break down 11 men behind the ball.

Posh are still a good side, but we were too good for them and our quality showed at the end. That's what happens when you play 4-4-2 and have a proper go at us. I respect Posh though for doing that and not being pussies like Millwall.

Just got back from Leicester, first time I've been on t'internet since the match and just wanted to say that was such an entertaining game and we played some beautiful football. Full credit to the posh for coming and having a go rather than sitting 11 men behind the ball

Someone tell us why "Jobber"?

"You Only Know Two Songs!"

Because that's his name- Lee Jobber.

I imagine that our Borough supporting freind will have expected a more exciting answer!

Two more than you then.

Although credit where it's due "your grounds too big for you" almost worked and was witty as fu ck >_<

And also the chant after about 20 minutes of "You fat bastard" to Jobber.

Yep, more originality. Happens every week although most clubs usually get it wihin 5 minutes.

I thought Jobber used the drum to perfection yesterday, I don't like it when it dictates every song but it is very useful, and the 15 minute 2nd hlaf ring of fire was fantastic.

And as ever the "get behind em!" "shall we sing a song for you" followed by L1 chanting "Peterborough....etc." and "fergie sort it out" was nice

I wondered where our drum was. It's not the size of the drum mate, it's what you do with it. Leicester's drummer was hopeless. He started getting ironic cheers from our fans when he got it right!

His drums still broke pal.

didn't you see hime pretend to chuck it before you started c hanting "You fat bastard"

On to your stewards and club - absolute disgrace. I rung the club during the week about my drum, they said "yeah yeah that would be fine, we have one ourselfs". I spoke to the safety officer and said i'll let the stewards know on Saturday. I then don't even get to the turnstile and get it taken off me. Now, it's only a drum and it didn't bother me that much. But i just was annoyed that they say one thing and then change it when it's not really fair imo. I mean, it was nothing like the size of your drum. So i'll be making a complaint to Leicester City.

Anyway, well done yesterday. Good luck for the rest of the season - I'm sure you don't even need it though!

Adam.

That's nothing mate, I've had to leave my 5 week old son at the turnstiles before now.

You were the best team i've seen play against Posh in the league in years. The way you passed the ball around our defenders, outstanding. I had the Leicester comentry on and they were saying that you hadn't played that well in ages. So i don't know if we were crap, or you made us look crap.

Translates; Millwall beat us..."mummy I don't like teams beating us...you said that wasn't going to happen" :(

I don't like it when we take the piss out of visiting fans in this division - teams like Peterborough may be associated with the cunt Fry but their support has stayed true despite never getting a sniff of success. To my mind that is worth full respect.

Boro, the Cobblers - in fact anyone who travels to support a Div.III side.

If your focus is on what the oppo supporters are singing rather than the match then you really ought to question what the fuck you are doing at the game.

to be fair the drum broke in the 1st half so he had to use it less and most of our songs don't fit the drum anyway

To be fair Millwall had a plan and stuck to it. They were the best league side I've seen this season, although it was pretty football it was effective.

Not that I am rubbing it in Dave but you were not there. There was a bunch of "bodies" who had obviously failed the Millwall IQ test & had been left with the option of supporting Peterborough. There was about 10 of these said "bodies" thinking they were the business and abusing L when they were clearly not up to the job of witty banter. They were definitely our of their depth in banter terms and had to leave on 88 minutes after we had nailed them for 88 minutes.

Their witty retorts of signing with their hands was shall we say off the mark. Even when we chanted Peterborough they fell silent. The 10, got what they deserved, however the 2900 rest were quite poor, understandably.

The Posh fans I met in the pub were really nice, it is a possibility that they would have enjoyed the wall of noise for 90 minutes isn't it?

Beautiful way to start my Saturday.

BTW what were the fans singing in the last 15 minutes to the tune of the "Cham-pi-o-ne" song?

Hi, bit late reply i know, but i think your refering to....

'Were top of the league, were top of the Leeeeeauge,

Were Leicester City, and were top of the League'

I personally wish this would catch on a bit more, i remember Bristol City Singing it when they came to the walkers last season and it sounded quite good
