What every game !! Fryatt has just fluked his way to 23 goals and Howard is the reason we're going up.

I don't blame Matty if he leaves, nearly everyone on here makes out he's nothing speical and make sarcastic jokes or digs at him. He should be the hero not Howard.

They work well together thats the point Fryatt has done brilliantly no doubt about that, but Howard has contributed to his success by winning flick ons unsettling defenders etc

Yeah, the vitriol directed towards Fryatt is shocking...the number of threads on here with people expressing their wish he should stay...disgusting really.

Read them, most people take the p**s out of him. He doesn't deserve that, i'm glad though when you go to the game. 95 % of people clap, cheer and rate him. Then the 5 % banging on how many chances he misses and how great Howard is.

Mate whats with the negativity we just won 4-0

You are deluded! Everyone wants fryatt to stay from what ive read.

Just drop the Howard comment and celebrate with us?

Listen mate, you're just a little bit upset that Howard is getting praised because in your eye, a striker should be there to score goals....that's fine but it's a very naive view.

"Most" people are not taking the piss out of Fryatt. A blind man can see he is crucial to our team at the moment. Whether he can replicate this form at a higher level is still questionable however, and if this idea is the source of your baffling mirth (because i honestly can't see what current threads/posts you are referring to) then I'm confused.

Anyway, no more.

Great result, lets keep it up..... and keep our feet on the ground - only half way through the season, this is not meant as a downer just a bit of perspective....

Did anyone listen to this? It was a bit bizarre. I always listen to supposedly non-biased commentary (i.e. not Radio Leicester) given the chance, but this was too far the other way; the commentators only seemed to be interested in talking about Peterborough. When City scored the first goal the bloke said 'Leicester have taken a surprise lead', which is a bit of a weird thing to say even if Posh were quick out of the blocks. They didn't really start to give Leicester any real credit until we were 3-0 up, and hardly mentioned a Leicester player by name apart from Oakley and Fryatt, despite seemingly being very familiar with the Peterborough side.

Anyway, I can't get too upset because a) it doesn't really matter and b) we won

as the game wore on they were saying how well we were playing, and that five or six wouldn't have flattered us. I suspect the commentator mentioned the players he recognised most, ie Oakley, Howard, Fryatt, Dyer. He rarely mentioned Davies and King for example, probably because he hadnt done his research. He also said there were a lot of empty seats, and would have expcted a larger crowd. Hell we got 23k the Saturday before Christmas. That's none too shabby.

The BBC had about ten reporters at the ground if you include local radio. And they say they need more of our money in the form of a larger licence fee!

Sorry going on off one when I'm actually chuffed to bits!

Absolutely brilliant performance, best of the season without a doubt. Thoroughly enjoyable to be a Leicester City fan today. Even Steve got back on the scoresheet!

The only downside to this is that the I <3 Howard club will give him motm and give him stupid ratings like 9-10 and give Fryatt 6 or 7.

Why don't you just shut the fook up for a second and think about some of the shit you are saying.

We just beat a good attacking side 4 - 0, both Howard and Fryatt played well.

I don't know if you were at the game but Howard does so much work that for some goes unnoticed, he creates a hell of a lot of room for Fryatt.

And just because some people see the work that Howard puts in for 90 minutes it doesn't mean that they don't give Fryatt the credit he deserves for scoring.

He is on fire and obviously all Leicester fans appreciate a player who has scored so many.

I think you are getting misunderstood that because people are praising Howard they must think Fryatt is shit, can you not see how hypocritcal you are being.

Howard and Fryatt both played well, and it is a matter of opinion as to who had the better game, IMO it was Howard.

However who gives a shit if people give Howard a higher rating, we won 4 - 0 against a good side, top of the league 15 points ahead of Leeds.

It's good times atm, enjoy it. Complain when we loose 4 - 0.

Theres plenty of teams in leagues above us who would love those crowds, leicester support as far as numbers go always impresses me. Birmingham are only averaging 1000 more than us each week.

Fantastic performance, unbelievable. Everyone played well.

And I have never celebrated a home goal like I did when Steve bagged, I went mental. Clocked someone round the eye, elbowed someone else in the nose and just generally jumped on top of people lol

I second that,

Leicester City FC had a good result today. I think we will stay in top spot & gain promotion to The Championship by Feb/Mar 2009

I hope Matty Fryatt does sign a new Contract deal by next week or earliest the New Year.

Nice to see Steve on the scoresheet too.

If you dont change your sig, Tilley, I'm never gonna be able to get anything done today!!

23,390 turned up to see that.

Outstanding.

:santa:

And they were given just the sort of performance that will get them coming back - apqart from the POSH portioin that is.

I thought Southend was promising. Very professional.

But today we added a bit of panache.

Some of one-two's cut Peterborough to pieces and their goalkeeper must have been close to Man of the Match for them.

For me the highlight was Steve Howard's goal.

You could tangibly feel the relief that went with all-out celebration.

Howard has been immense lately and today was no different. Instead of just Fryatt, the whole team seems to be playing off him. He's never let his goal drought get him down but has pluged away playing his part in the team effort.

His strike a couple of minutes from time was a fitting change of luck for him goals wise. It was a cracking effort just about as close to the corner of the net as possible without hitting the post and it was a nice touch for him to acknowledge the crowd and the bench in his relief.

Kingy's eighth goal of the season took him level with Lloyd Dyer so he won't mind that, Tunchev's return at the back steadied the defence and Davies showed in midfield that he two is capable of getting forward for a pop, adding to our goals potential.

Gilbert continued to show why he was missed so much, Oakley was involved in all sorts so that, altogether, that was a good a team effort as I've seen from Leicester in the league for ages.

Some of the best football we've played for years. Some of the little flicks and back heels we played today were just outrageous, and most of the times they came off.

Unfortunately for us this just shows other teams that you can't come here and try to play football, expect 10 men behind the ball at home for the rest of the season now.

Beautiful way to start my Saturday.

BTW what were the fans singing in the last 15 minutes to the tune of the "Cham-pi-o-ne" song?
