And did anybody else think that Oakley's tackle on Mackail-Smith was an obvious foul right before Fryatt's goal? Not that I'm complaining or anything.... ;)

Looked a hard challenge but I think he won the ball... unlike Dickov's attempt at a tackle! >_<

In other news - those Peterborough celebrations when they "scored" looked fun

That was very funny, I see two of them hugging 5 minutes after the incident.

Today was spot on in every way. Great team performance, 2 comical moments, wonderful support.

By a mile the most enjoyable home game in many years.

Oh and their support was just how I said it would be.

3,000 POSH TAKING OVER LESTA! lol

The only downside to this is that the I <3 Howard club will give him motm and give him stupid ratings like 9-10 and give Fryatt 6 or 7.

He was magic today.

Dickov is a twat though.

Agreed on for a minute and could have been sent off.

And I have never celebrated a home goal like I did when Steve bagged, I went mental. Clocked someone round the eye, elbowed someone else in the nose and just generalljumped on top of people lol

The stadium went crazy. Every fan went nuts for Stevie, the players did too as did Matty and Pearson on the bench. Fryatt even tried lying a goal on a plate for him today but it didn't come off. Fryatt was amazing too...everything he did turn to gold.

BTW what were the fans singing in the last 15 minutes to the tune of the "Cham-pi-o-ne" song?

Left-side/right-side. Which I found embrassing tbh. I'd rather go for the Leicester songbook than sign that bag of barclays. Didn't like the Mexican Wave either - it's not very League One.

Yes, clear as day. I'd have been seriously annoyed if it was the other way around. I thought it was Boyd - knew I needed my glasses for today.

Never seen so many people jump at once. :giggle:

Real superb. Davies was incredible today but it doesn't look like he'll be here much longer.

Fantastic, everything went well.

Very good result, best moment was all the Peterborough fans going crazy thinking the ball had gone in.

Really pleased for Howard as well.

Roll on Leeds.

A Howard screamer in stoppage time to give us the points would do nicely.

 Cheers for that mate! :crylaugh:

Quality performance, by some distance the best seen at the Way this season.

We needed to be up for it against in-form opponents, and we were. We rode our luck at times during the first half, with the own goal and them hitting the woodwork twice, but no-one could deny we deserved our lead.

Tunchev was immense once again, but there were other brilliant performers like Gilbert, Oakley and Davies. And Howard's goal at the end was a fitting reward for 90 minutes of non-stop effort.

The only blemish was Dickov's booking for a petulant and unnecessary foul. A player of his experience should how to channel aggression towards more productive ends.

Let's hope the side can take this form to Leeds. If they do, we could be in for a party and a half! :D

That was probably our best home league performance and result since we beat Sheffield utd 4-2 some years ago.

It was also imo our strongest and best team in terms of positional balance.

A proper left and right back, two good centre halves and as well as two strikers both playing well a well balanced midfield in which Davies was outstanding.

On that evidence he is exactly the type of midfield player this club has been looking for for several years. Obviously it is early days and it looks unlikely we can keep him for much longer but those are the characterstics we have been missing.

We are about half way towards out ultimate goal of promotion and anyone who thinks it is signed sealed and delivered should think again. Several sides are in advance of the usual number of points gained by this stage of the season including us obviously so it could be that 94-96 points will be needed for automatic promotion.

Yeterday though was an excellent performance. We simply outclassed a very good team on a run of 17 unbeaten games. The reaction of the players at the end of the match showed just how much it meant to them. The key was movemet. For once we passed and moved and they had no answer. Ok they hit the post and our first goal was lucky but in truth 5 or 6 nil would not have been over the top. Their keeper made several good stops and there were other occassions where the ball would not quite come down for the strikers.

Let's be clear Peterborough were not bad neither did they have an off day they were simply outclassed and it was great to watch.

Now it is all about our approach to the rest of the season.

It is about confidence and self belief and not arrogance.

It will be about patience and determination when things are not going so well.

and it will be about support from the stands and from the managerial team.

very good post  i dont think pearson will let arrogance or even over confidence get to the players, he seems to level headed, i was delighted at the response from every 1 in the ground when the final whistle went :chant: and the support to howard was fantastic and well deserved, felt proud to be a leicester fan...roll on leeds

I thought we were bloody brilliant, best ive seen us for a few years.

Davies and Tunchev were superb, we need to try and sign that Davies.

Delighted when Howard scored, ive slagged him off in the past but he is probably the most important player at the moment, wins everything and creates so much room for Fryatt.

Bring on the Leeds!

****ing weddings.

So pleased to see that Howard bagged. He has needed it, no matter how good his performances have been in recent weeks.

I see Leeds have sacked Gary Mac, I reckon Boxing Day will be a brilliant game.

For me, best we have played all season.

Don't think anyone could have predicted a 4 - 0 win against the Posh.

The early own goal helped us settle very quickly, thought the defence were excellent especially the Tunch.

Midfield played their part brilliantly today not only going forward but also in defence.

I must say that I must eat humble pie regarding Matty Fryatt, being one of his sternest critics, I have to say that he impressed me today.

It was good to see him actually manage to go round their keeper to score the second.

His work rate today both on and off the ball was very good, at last he seems to have learnt from his past mistakes and is playing more as a striker should. Long may he continue to do so.

Was really pleased to see Howard manage to get on the scoresheet with a long overdue goal.

As someone mentioned on RL, Howard / Fryatt are reminiscent of the Heskey / Cottee partnership from some years ago.

As Heskey has proved, you don't have to score the goals yourself, as long as you supply the ball to your strike partner, that's good enough.

For the third goal, it was good to see us actually score from a decent corner kick.

No doubt Thrac was pleased to see Kingy score.

All in all a very good performance, let's hope we can maintain this sort of form for the rest of the season.
