lavrentis Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 You have probably seen this before but.. Apparently, teenagers, dogs and cats are the only ones to hear this noise. I can hear it perfectly well, my dad 50 years of age can't hear it. Click here to listen to the sound
davieG Posted 20 December 2008 Posted 20 December 2008 THey use this outside shops and in Malls to keep you young yobs out. I think we could do with a few down LCFC there's far too much noise coming from the teen scene keeps me awake.

act smiley Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 How can you not? I went into it thinking that what with having some mild ringing in my ears anyway, it'd blend in but its pretty obvious stuff.
Smiffy Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 Teens are using it on their cell phones in school apparently so they can hear when their phones are ringing but the teacher cant. Saw something on the news about it not long ago. Just sounds like a tele on a blank channel to me. Is that what I'm supposed to hear?

Vacamion Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I can't hear it. What is the noise? Is it a voice telling teenaagers to let their jeans hang over their arses and wear eye make-up ?
Suffolk_fox Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I'm 36 and can hear it, so can my kids (8 and 9) Am I the oldest? Can Thracian hear it? Can he read even make out the link?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 December 2008 Posted 21 December 2008 I'm 40 and I CAN hear it, though it's quite faint. What's supposed to be the age cut-off point? I have very good ears though. Once I couldn't sleep cos I could hear a disc spinning in my PS2 downstairs when I left it on by mistake. Had to go down stairs and turn it off.

Late teens/early twenties... basically you should lose your top end (high frequency) hearing as you age... but some people will always have better hearing than others...
