I know it’s a Longshot (pardon the pun) but..

if the guy wearing the city shirt that me and my dad briefly saw before Catfish and the Bottlemen (in London, Spuds stadium) is on here, send me a DM and we can go for a pint before Sheff Wed game or Charlton (a).

Wolf Alice tickets for  Cardiff secured. Tracks from the new album (out 22nd Aug) are excellent. A band at the top of their game and well worth seeing live.

Considering tickets for The Who's North American farewell tour, starting next week. Surprised to see the sales looking low (though I suspect the price is the issue)- this is for next Saturday night, all seats in blue are still available.

Off to see the Stereophonics at Sandringham on Saturday.

Was really looking forward to it, then read some of the reviews from a couple of years ago and the organisation was horrific, food prices are extortionate even by concert standards. Even now they are saying leave at least 120 minutes for entering and exiting the car park.

I know it’s in the middle of nowhere and the vast majority will probably be driving there but it’s on a private estate in the middle of nowhere, how busy do the roads normally get in North Norfolk late on a Saturday night ? Other than the traffic leaving the estate I can’t imagine much more being around.

Anyway they’re supported by Jake Bugg and Blossoms and I’m going to write  Sunday off. It will be a good night!

Budget Hospitality for My Chemical Romance at Wembley and Martin O’Neill at De Mont.

It’s been an expensive few days.

Coldplay tomorrow night.

I find their music a little bland for my taste but I’ve always wanted to go for the show. Had cheap a cheap ticket and hotel for their Budapest show a couple of years ago but the flights that weekend were ridiculously expensive so I cancelled.

Picked up a ticket on Viagogo for what I’ve paid Ticketmaster to see a few artists in the last couple years so going for it. 80% above face value but what I was willing pay.

Not exactly a fan of viagogo, particularly the ‘traders’ on their who farm tickets for events just to resell but as I was nowhere near getting one in the presale or general sale and nothing has appeared for genuine resale so it was the only half decent option left.

Official Ticketmaster  transfer yesterday so all should be good.

@Sol thewall Bamba If I find myself back at Watford Junction shirtless I will have questions as to how the evening went :D

I went to this too! Took us an hour to drive the last 5 miles 😂

Was really good though, thought Stereophonics were class!

They were, it was a good day all round. I had seen the blossoms years ago but they didn’t impress, thought they were excellent.

We bailed out before the last two numbers and avoided most of the chaos.

Booked to see the phonics in December in Birmingham.

James, Happy Mondays and The Lightning Seeds in Colchester on Friday

Lightning Seeds were a bit flat, Happy Mondays better in intimate settings (and a younger crowd maybe) but James were fantastic - wholly charismatic stage presence.

F uck Oyo btw, they book rooms into hotels they have literally no affiliation with so it was a mad scramble trying to sort somewhere to stay at 3ish, had to stay about 10 miles out and the gig commenced at 5ish.

We spent the night there in one of the Pink Moon tents, was great being able to just walk 10 minutes after the gig and be at the tent. We dashed back between Jake Bugg & Blossoms too as the bar queues were crazy.  Looking forward to seeing who they have there next year.

Were you in a city top? Saw one there…

No mate wasn’t me. Must have been a few of us there then.

Would consider it again but would want to be staying local. I had tickets for the phonics in Cardiff but couldn’t make it, booked the Sandringham tickets and then they announced a load of arena dates at the end of the year.

I spend quite a lot going to certain gigs.

I was thinking about Suede at Rock City, but £49 for anyone at Rock City is a no for me.

I get there’s a lot of smaller venues closing and expenses are all increasing but you’re going to have to keep prices realistic in relation to the venue.

I bet energy costs are absolutely shafting gig venues. The cooling required for the fridges plus the electricity for light and sound systems must be through the roof.
