Back from the bearded theory festival.

Loved it again.

Particular favourites were paul heaton...he sang build, a song I've loved for decades.   Manic street preachers we're amazing too and sang songs I was desperate to hear, so i was chuffed to bits.

Other artists I wanted to see were swim deep, ezra furman, katy pearson.

Amazing views, decent weather, loved it.

I wanted to go to Nottingham for the date there but I was wrong footed by how quickly it sold out - I've realised now that an act petering out even in part from lack of interest does not equal an indifferent welcome back when the inevitable reunion comes round.

In a parallel universe they're Britain's favourite band and Oasis are nowhere

Haha yeh, the whole tour sold out pretty quickly and they're off to North America afterwards as well.

A slightly overlooked underrated band from the britpop era. Gaz has some really nice solo stuff too.

Was interested until I saw it was an arena

You are going to find this more and more. Costs of gigs is so high that bands are aiming for arenas now

Metallica in Cardiff next June.

The two night no repeater at West Ham appealed, but the cost/effort of staying over/going up and down for the Friday/Sunday didn’t.

Bagged two tickets for that exact event too. Couldn't resist as it's my birthday weekend that week so thought I'd treat myself. Like yourself, didn't fancy 2 days for the London event, though London certainly would have been easier to get to.

Isle of Wight Festival next week.

Should be a blast, but a little underwhelmed by the line up.  Looking forward to Stereophonics though.

My wife has 3 tickets for sale for Chris Brown at Villa Park next week. You all seem like Chris Brown is right up your street

Does anyone know if Download is available to watch anywhere?

Don’t think it is anymore, Sky Arts used to show quite a bit but that seems to have stopped in recent years.

Went yesterday and have the worst sunburn I’ve ever had right now. Green Day were fantastic though - it’s a great festival.

To be honest mate, he opened well and I thought this is going to be fantastic, but the middle 6 tracks I lost interest. There’s a few Smiths numbers. Highlight for me was Jack The Ripper.  Hope you enjoy it.

Yes he did that in Manchester too. Seems like he moved the set around a little and didn’t open with All you need is me. Glad you enjoyed. I’m off to see Johnny Marr on Friday.

This middle aged straight white guy went to see Beyonce at Spurs last night and she was superb.

Got seats on the 300 level in a block next to the directors box. Excellent view with an air-conditioned lounge, food kiosk and bar behind. They weren’t cheap tickets but it was like hospitality with fully paying hospitality prices. I’ve been there twice for non football things and it’s an excellent venue.

The area around it sketchy as…… hadn’t got 200 metres from the stadium on the way to

my car before someone approached me offering to sort me out with anything I wanted…”weed, skunk, anything mate”

Easy drive home, back just before 1am.

Would do it again!
