What are people's thoughts on Goa?

Will it be hot this time of year (between now and March)?

Yeah I have two friends out there at the minute. Ideal time to go.

It's meant to be amazing, two different friends went last year and said it was fantastic. Especially if you take a trip to Kerala as well. Cheap as well.

Otherwise - Thailand, Cuba. Both good at this time of year.

Anywhere in the Caribbean is going to be expensive during that time, since the "snowbirds" tend to vacation during the cold winters, I shall be going to see the test in Jamaica in February for a weekend and was looking at St Lucia for the last test in April but most decent hotels are $300 per night and up, so I doubt that will happen.

Costa Rica is apparently a beautiful place, great beaches and a rain forest, with all the attendant tropical flora and forna, which I guess means it rains a lot; although according to this site, the rainy season is between May and November.

The only Mexican places I have visited are Acapulco and Puerta Vallarta and I wouldn't recommend either of them.

Since the plunge of the pound, coming to the Americas might not be the best splash for your cash.

Wherever you decide I'm sure will help shrug off '08

Costa Rica is awesome. I went twice during the rainy season and it is still great. You can predict the rain almost to the minute, about 3pm the heavens usually open, but it is just an amazing place. James - I do know a great tour company that I would reccommend, and if you can afford to go as far as Goa then this is definitely in budget.

It was there that I saw THIS monkey

I would recommend Cancun best holiday I have ever had mate. Unlike most places around the world their 'All-Inclusive' is 24 hours. The weather is unreal and for the 2 weeks I was there it only rained once at night and that made it more refreshing.

My Mum and her boyfriend are going out there again in February.

Cancun is America's Ibiza. I wouldn't go that far to be stuck with a load of kids on spring break. I've never been there for that reason. I'd like to see some of the Mayan ruins in Mexico and some of the western areas that are less touristed. Costa rica is a nice mix between tourism and undeveloped. More so than Guatemala, Honduras or Nicaragua. I'm told Belize is awesome.

OK, a new one for you, one I meant to do a while back - Malaysia.

Fly to Kuala Lumpur for around £400 with one of the arab airlines - they'll do a stopover in Dubai or Qatar, stay there for a couple of days.

When you get to KL and have explored it take a few days on Tioman island (look it up on Google images).... there is a ferry out there I can get you the details.... alternatively there are hundreds of lest touristed tropical islands off the east coast of Malaysia..

Upon returning to the mainland take a train to Singapore and spend a few days there.

Why am I not applying for travel agency jobs?

Same in Playa del Carmen (40 minutes away from Cancun) and imo far far better than Cancun! Can't wait until I'm back there in May.
