Houdini Logic Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Just got back. 'Kinell that was shite. Quick summary because I can't be arsed to do much more at this time: 1. Pearson didn't want it - his team selection made it clear he wasn't interested in winning this game much. A distinct lack of pace to say the least. 2. Midfield were shambolic - Totally overrun all game long. Oakley hah his worst game for a long time, misplacing pass after pass and summing it all up with an embarassing miss at the end. Andy King can't play in a side that isn't playing well, totally anonymous in the whole game. 3. Dickov/Howard - Doesn't work. Dickov's totally past it now, not good enough. I would agree with all of that. When King is having a bad game/low in confidence he struggles to get the ball forward, always going backwards. We needed a player like Davies in central Mid. It was refreshing to see Chambers - before he came on I couldn't see any possibility of scoring a goal.
Alexikokopops Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 It was great meeting the Foxestalk guys in Victoria station and on the way to the ground. However, this evening's support was poor despite our numbers. There were a number of disturbances in our own fans. Not least, a few kids next to us I assume friends of some of the guys on here who were chanting united songs for half the game, and wereinvolved in lets just say an extremely distastful and irrelevant abuse in my general direction. Glad to say he was thrown out as a result. Jobber had a right go at them quite rightly. Wish I had moved at half time with Alex, TPH & Fez. Had to move in the ground after hearing various embarrassing United chants and then some pathetic Palestine ones. What happened in teh second half? The Palestine chants were enough for me. I was in a rage all night (as anyone who was at Thornton Heath Station on the way back can testify) Peculiar evening - Alex's 12 days of Christmas (94 Squad edition) was hilarious and had the attention of the commuting lot. Even got a round of applause afterwards!I'm off to bed. Nytol! Alex's 12 days of the 94' squad will remain with me forever. Oh yeah, for those of you who missed out on the 12 days of Ormondroyd, you really did miss out, fantastic. Alex was "the leader" singing all the other players' names, the rest of us joined in only on Coatsworth and ORMONDROYD, Fantastic stuff. I don't think Uncle Albert will be to keen on going to the embankment. Immense.FIIIIVVVVVEEEE CCOOOOAAATTSSSWWWOOORRTTTHHHSSSS. 4 Jimmy Willii3 Mike whitlow's 2 Simon Grayson's And an IAN ORMANDROYD Yes it was THAT good. Haha, that was good fun. Emerging from the escalator and realising I had to sing 11 and 12 into the whole of Victoria station set me into a bit of a laughing fit.
Tilley Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Oh well, lets get promotion. As Sosbanfach says, I will care about the cup when we are a mid table Championship club again. Shame about Tunch, hopefully it isnt as serious as we think. Nice to see Gradel get a goal & Chambers get on the pitch.
Ric Flair Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Pleased to hear Chambers make an impact, the boy has some natural ability. Good to see Maxi get a goal as well, Stringer seemed to hype his performance up more than the ratings from those at the game, I thought as much. Stringer seems to love him more than I do.
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Chambers had a decent game actually. Could be an asset.
Ric Flair Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Chambers had a decent game actually. Could be an asset. Injury prone as fook though, if he wasn't i'm pretty sure he'd be first choice striker for us by now.
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Fez has reminded me of some classic moments from last night. Once again out at away games with the rest of the lads, the game was the worst part of the night.
Babylon Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Injury prone as fook though, if he wasn't i'm pretty sure he'd be first choice striker for us by now. When the kid has been given his chance in the team even as sub he has made an impression... shame about the injuries as he would definitely be a key player for us. I think the fact Pearson how got rid of DJ shows what he thinks of the lad.
chiefvole Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 What happened in teh second half? The Palestine chants were enough for me. I was in a rage all night (as anyone who was at Thornton Heath Station on the way back can testify) were they pro palestine songs or anti?

The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Pretty much any combination of 'Muslims', 'Jews' and 'bombs' were shoehorned clumsily in to any existing football chant. It was cringeworthy. Completely unaware of even the basics of the situation.
chiefvole Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 were they pro palestine songs or anti?Something along the lines of "bombing Muslims" i think you are mistaken i know the lad and his father is muslim...... so they would most likely be pro palastinian songs
Alexikokopops Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 i think you are mistakeni know the lad and his father is muslim...... so they would most likely be pro palastinian songs This explains it better Pretty much any combination of 'Muslims', 'Jews' and 'bombs' were shoehorned clumsily in to any existing football chant. It was cringeworthy. chiefvole Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 This explains it better well the person in question does actually know quite a bit about the situation... having an arabic father.... he hears about whats happeining in the middle east on a regular basis fair play to him if he was singing pro palestine songs... shows people do actually care whats happening over there.. even if his arguement was not in the most sober fashion

If he knew a lot about the situation, I'd expect him to realise that simplifying it to bombing a bunch of people as being the solution is a bit stupid. But there again, he does have an Arabic father... although I'm not sure what relevance this has. I've got 2 parents from Leicester, I might go and bomb Coventry.

There is no need to sing about bombing Jews, or Muslim, or whoever the fuck he was singing about bombing. There's a difference between singing pro-Palestine songs and singing about bombing people, even if you do "know quite a bit about the situation".
James. Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 It was an embarassement and the lads singing them were c*nts. In the second half it continued particularly with the smaller guy standing on the seat with the red top and shirt underneath. Twat. Me and Suffolk_fox exchanged words with him and he was one of the most aggressive arseholes I've ever had the misfortune to meet. The stewards were informed soon after and he was ejected.

My dad grew up in Libya, god knows what I might get up to.

That was the one I had an argument with when he was singing about being Mancunian and then expressed some kind of surprise when no one was joining in.
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Who was that, he was a right ****? Same chant about 20 times as well. Really sh it chant.
chiefvole Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 My dad grew up in Libya, god knows what I might get up to. yeah so his arguments were a bit extreme.... there are people who have a lot stronger views to do with Zionists i wouldn't expect the BBC watchers in this country to understand that... try channel 514 on sky, thats a better picture of whats happening and simplifying whats happeing in the Gaza strip to Leiceser Coverntry is pathetic
Alexikokopops Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 Who was that, he was a right ****?Same chant about 20 times as well. Really sh it chant. Fair enough for trying to start a new chant. However you don't have to be that clever to realise that if no one in front of the back row is joining in with any normal Leicester chants they're not going to join in with a completely new chant if you've tried a few times. Unfortunately it seems they didn't realise that and sang it every two minutes for at least the first half hour. I made my feelings known on that.
The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 yeah so his arguments were a bit extreme....there are people who have a lot stronger views to do with Zionists i wouldn't expect the BBC watchers in this country to understand that... try channel 514 on sky, thats a better picture of whats happening and simplifying whats happeing in the Gaza strip to Leiceser Coverntry is pathetic I think if you want to see pathetic, you need to have a look at your mate. Everyone around him was disgusted and rightly so. You can't excuse it by saying that there are people in the world who have more extreme views. It's irrelevant. He should lay off the beer till he learns to handle it.

He was aggressive, pissed off his face and made a twat out of himself. I know you know him, and are naturally going to defend him, but that's how he came across last night to anyone within 20 metres. It wasn't only us, Jobber had a right go too.

SORT OF (so dont go biting my head of for saying that) and about laying of the beer maybe teh atmosphere in the ground last night would have been a bit better if everyone in the ground had a few drinks! might losen a few people up....
