teblin Posted 16 April 2009 Posted 16 April 2009 From how lee hoos spoke a few months ago, i think we could be looking at quite a few free transfers. He said something along the line they'll be alot of good footballers looking for work. Think we may see mattock leave if we get a biggish bid, to fund the playing staff elsewhere.
Stueyt74 Posted 16 April 2009 Posted 16 April 2009 spoke to a friend last week who knows lee hughes and he said he will sign for us in the summer, i know this isnt exactly hard evidence and would certainly split fans opinions but as far as am concerned he paid his price by doing his prison sentence and if he can help us get promotion next season i for one wont be complaining. i would only presume he would be a squad member / sub and tbh looked quite good against us at home. Good god. I hope he proves me wrong, but I think Lee Hughes would be a shocking signing. May as well play Barry, at least we can all have a laugh then.
Head Honcho Posted 16 April 2009 Posted 16 April 2009 Great! Two trips to the Northeast almost guaranteed and at under £50 return flights, that'll do me.
Ultra Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 I know Birmingham were after him and dont know if their interest has subsided but Kris Boyd may be a better target then Cox Boyd has too many attitude problems. And the record of recent SPL signings at our club is less than inspiring.
suffolk fox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 I would love us to sign Craig Mackail-Smith from Peterboro quality signing. Would give us speed in midfield ripped us apart at their place this season Kismybum couldn't keep up wiv him!!
Head Honcho Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Wouldn't mind seeing Grzegorz Rasiak or Robert Earnshaw down here next season. The former has definitely got a couple of seasons left in him and if we can sign a decent crosser of the ball he can cause problems. Earnie hasn't quite hit it off at Forest but I reckon a change of club will see him revitalised.
carterfox90 Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 simon cox for definatley cover for howard a attacking midfiedler a good left back imo mattock has been below average even in this league & a good goalie is a must if fulop falls out of favour at s'land would be a great signing
Soar Fox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Liam Lawrence ( if stoke stay up ) Kelvin Davis Luke Varney Andrew Surman Darren Ambrose Lee Hendrie
Asha Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Earnie hasn't quite hit it off at Forest but I reckon a change of club will see him revitalised. Really? I think he's been doing reasonable well for them, he's their top goalscorer and without him they'd be fooked by now. He was awful at Derby, but I think he'd easily be hitting 20 a season still in a better side in the championship than Forest.
Mort Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Liam Lawrence ( if stoke stay up )Kelvin Davis Luke Varney Andrew Surman Darren Ambrose Lee Hendrie Now there's a player that's fallen off the radar.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Theo Robinson - Tricky, speedy, powerful winger with plenty of goals in him. On loan at Southend from Watford, where he has impressed, after another good loan spell at Hereford last season. Could be on loan but I think Watford would let him go for the right price. Still relatively young, only 20 years old, but his goals / games ratio is very impressive for a player who is primarily a winger. We need more options on the wing and this guy would fit the bill perfectly. Reuben Reid- A 20 year old, like Robsinon, who has absolutely excelled at Rotherham this season after being released by Plymouth. He's scored 19 in all competitions, and has an eye for cheeky little goals. We've lacked pace up front so much this season, and Reid has it to burn. Very good player who could also develop well. A bid from a Championship side could unsettle him, I definately think he should be a target, with a realistic chance of capturing. Simeon Jackson - Another young striker who's done well at both R&D and Gillingham. Again, a bid from a "bigger" side, that Gillingham couldn't refuse, means he's a more than realistic target. Sam Saunders- An attacking midfielder / winger from Dagenham and Redbridge who's managed 11 assists in the legue alone this season. Is 25, could be worth a pop. Gary Roberts - Of Huddersfield has managed 10 assists this season, as well as 9 goals. He could also be well worth a go as wing cover. If we sign one of Robinson, Reid, or Jackson, I'd be very impressed.
Unabomber Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Good shout with Theo Robinson there MTWG, maybe Jason Demetriou from Orient would be worth a punt too.

The Doctor Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Now there's a player that's fallen off the radar. yep. played plenty of times for charlton last season and they finished mid-table. hardly plays this season and they're in a relegation battle. Coincidence? I think not so!
Pricey Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 I thought about Jackson aswell. Saw this artical about him http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/...-simeon-jackson
FleckneyFox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 I think Billy Clarke is out of contract at Ipswich in the summer. Whenever ive seen him he looks a good player and has been doing very well in League 2 at Brentford & Darlington. Also Michael O'Connor from Crewe who has a bit of a reputation as a troublemaker and because of it got sent to Lincoln on loan. But hes only 21 and has been capped by Northern Ireland so he has potential. Apparently Crewe are happy to get rid.

I think not so! Hardly featured for either Derby or Wednesday since his move(s)... seems odd for a striker who seemed to have started to setteled at Championship level when Pardew was at Charlton.
Tilley Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Finally MTWG.. someone who is realistic and speaks sense. Some right ****** in here.

The Doctor Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Said on SSN that milans giving pearson a £10m transfer budget next season. if pearson can unearth gems like tunchev next season at a similar price to tunch then that transfer budget would be enough for 7/8 players with 3/4 mill left over. Back to back titles for sure if he can do that.
Candidcamera Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 I think that Perason will have had plenty of first hand of experience from Div 1 players to add to his u'21 international experience. I don't think it is possible to say who he will sign but there's a whole new beginning thanks to him and the team next year.
