No contest... bevoir road and home park on a wet tuesday night beats the San Siro and Olympic Stadium every time.
norfolkfox222 Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Just a thought of 2 signings for next season, we all know we need a solid goalkeeper we havent really had one in a few seasons in my eyes so how about David Marshall from Norwich if they get relegated? Always heard good things from my Norwich supporting mates Also Nicky Bailey from Charlton seems to be their star player in a dismal season? Thoughts.....
jimmy7587 Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Just watching the championship, and Nicky Bailey would be decent for us. David Marshall is a good shot stopper, but cannot kick though. If we're looking for a full time keeper, then he must be competent all in areas. Hendersen, Logan and all the Loanee keepers will go at the end of the season so we need to be looking at signing 2 keepers this summer. Alnwick from Spurs did okay when he came on loan and David Martin has done enough to warrant being reserve keeper next season? Tony Warner would be a good calibre keeper for the Championship, but, doesn't fill the team with confidence I don't think. Romain Larreiau from Plymouth has always impressed, and he wont be on a big contract so could be bought out quite easily, he would be a decent number 1 I think. Southamptons Kelvin Davis would want to come, seeing as the saints are on the drop. Talking of which, having a raid of them might be an idea; Saganowski, Surman and Skacel would all add depth and wouldn't be too costly. Who else has been lined up? Cox from Swindon would be great. Fryatt will get the nod at the beginning of the season, but I do not see him producing like he has done this season. But I hope he proves me, and most city fans, wrong. Jimmy

I'd be happy with either making Martin's loan permanent, or signing the likes of Joe Murphy, Owain Fon Williams or Lee Camp. That's four possible keepers without much thought. With a bit more effort and scouting, I'm sure there are plenty of others.

I suppose he may not be instant first choice material, but would be an idea to get him on board.

We need better in the Championship, and we can do better. Dean Brill is a decent shout, but I'm going to continue to bang on about Joe Murphy from S****horpe.
