Ultra Posted 3 April 2009 Posted 3 April 2009 And Pele. It's all about the name (I think he's still there ) Pele's at West Brom. Don't think he's featured for them much this season though.. I can actually see 1 or 2 Southampton players coming with the Pearson connection and that. Surman - yes please. Not fussed about the other two though..
The Doctor Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 After saturday i reckon we should move in for the carlisle keeper he had a blinder
SwindonRed Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Newcastle and West Brom are fighting it out for the signature of £1m-rated Swindon striker Simon Cox. (News of the World) Theres no way we will get him. There's no way anyone is going to get him for £1m, there is a 33% sell-on clause with Reading for a start. He has one year left on his contract but will leave before next season without a doubt. There will be no bad feeling towards Cox from Swindon fans when he moves on, he will go on to improve himself as a player at a bigger club and will be crowd pleaser wherever he goes. It's the effort that we appreciate the most, I've known many players throw in the towel in when they are playing at a dead-end club just waiting for a transfer, not Cox he gives 100% effort every game and has carried us hopefully towards safety with his goals this season. Mowbray quoted Cox worth at least £2m in todays market, that's what you pay for a goalscorer in todays market he said, and Cox has a proven record with Swindon not just this season but last season as well, in a average side. The teams being touted around who have shown interest in Cox and have sent scouts to watch him, some on four or five occasions are: Derby, Newcastle, Fulham, Leicester, West Brom. The general opinion is he will end up at either West Brom or Leicester, Cox has stated he is not going to leave Swindon to warm-up a bench, like the time he was at Reading.
Stueyt74 Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 After saturday i reckon we should move in for the carlisle keeper he had a blinder Haha, don't make me laugh. You're saying that after one performance? If we're going to go on that basis Zsolt Laczkó was player of the season last year and I can't understand why we didn't sign him. Bad idea my friend.
syston_fox Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Dunno if it's been mentioned elsewhere but we're playing Chesterfield at Saltergate in a pre-season friendly. Tuesday 28th July - 7:45pm Kick off.

varny75 Posted 9 April 2009 Posted 9 April 2009 I think jason koumas would be a great buy for us.Just what we need in midfield and he isn"t playing first team football at the minute.
Stueyt74 Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 so you don't want a decent keeper and a striker that can score goals on a regular basis in the championship then I agree mate, Davis and Saganowski would be good signings, especially as Southampton will be looking to offload players, and Davis' contract is up in the summer. Another thought I had was Stern John, don't know where he is or how he's doing at the moment, but Pearson might be interested.

Stern john isn't at southampton anymore according to their website but a look through their squad list brings up another couple of players that could do a job here. David McGoldrick (scored 11 or 12 for their first team this season) and Micheal svensson ( swedish defender - done well for southampton for 4-5 years but was out injured from the start of last season to the start of this season and has hardly figured since. He's quite old, 33 i think and perhaps might be struggling following his injury last season but worth a look i'd say)
Mort Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 If Saints go down, then Pearson's time at the club could be pretty useful when it comes to poaching some of their better players - BWP still there? (wouldnt be my first choice, but worth a look).
scinnell Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 who would you like leicester to sign? goalkeeper tony warner david martin defender jack hobbs kerea gilbert andrew surman( worth a cheeky bid ) midfeilder tom cleverly lewis mgaun(if forest go down,, can not spell his name:P) nicky bailey gary mcsheffry striker simon cox lee trundle
scinnell Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 seen that collins johns out of contract at fulham in the summer he looked good at leicester last season was injured though worth a shoat me thinks!

mmarkie Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 seen that collins johns out of contract at fulham in the summer he looked good at leicester last season was injured though worth a shoat me thinks! yeh he was well good!

The Doctor Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 I always liked the look of Matt Murry the wolves keeper, could be a good player for us Ain't he the one whose permenantly injured?
The Doctor Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Macheda on loan  Never mind that, the reason he went to man u was because he could sign a professional contract at 16/17 in england where as in italy you have to wait until you are 18. we should raid the italians youth systems the same way man u have done. (also spain - their youth systems are the same all across the continent)
Mort Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 BWP is still there, scored a great goal last weekend but hasn't really dun much else this season IIRC he was pretty handy his first season there, so he might be worth a punt - in the end I'd trust Pearson when it came to who from Saints could be worth bringing in. In the end the quality of some the clubs going down should mean there are some bargins when it comes to the summer window... of course we need to get promoted first!
Asha Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 lewis mgaun(if forest go down,, can not spell his name:P) Clearly not ...that's a terrible attempt. How can you look at that and think it says McGugan.
