I've popped in Marty's DeLorian and thought I'd bring the good news in the form of this handy newspaper article: Daily Planet Sunday May 16th 2010 Leicester are new Premiership boys, FA Cup winners and in Europe. What has happened to Leicester over the last 2 years, with a tremendous run in League 1, not only getting promoted but also run away champions with a record 118 points, the Championship new boys walked all over the league, being promoted as Champions. The FA Cup was finally obtained after 126 years of misery, MOTD’s own Alan Hansen was quoted as saying “Off all the teams in all of the world, Leicester deserve this more than any. NOW can I put in an expenses claim for the food I used to turn into energy to move my mouth just then?” Well what did change. After promotion from League One Nigel Pearson decided his entire squad was sh*t and sacked the lot. Matty Fryatt was sold to Gary Megson’s Bolton for a fee of £36million. Pearson took delight in revenging the ginger haired t*sspot for crimes against Leicester city. Pearson exclaiming. “Everyone knows he’s sh*t playing out of League one a-ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” Steve Howard found life difficult at The Red Lion XI (Loughborough) and retired after 22 minutes of his first game. Max Gradel got a decent haircut and ended up playing for Nottingham Forest. Billy Davies said “It’s been a long time since we’ve had a winger who beats his man 50 times and delivers a bad cross, sadly Franz Carr has retired, so Max is the next best thing.” Paul Dickov was given a free transfer to Manchester City, he bagged 34 goals in 10 games, proving the same Leicester theory… when they’re sh*t at Leicester you guarantee they’ll score a bucket load elsewhere. Milan Mandaric had pumped more money into Leicester than a gay Middle Eastern Prince into a rent boy. With top class signings like Robhino, Ronaldo, Cole Brothers, Henry, Ferdinand, Kaka, Dickov (returned), Heskey (!) and even Frankie Worthington came back for a game. However the side did not gel for the first 2 days and only beat Shepshed Dynamo in pre-season friendly by 8 goals to nil. Mandaric sacked Pearson. He was quoted as saying “He didn’t wipe his shoes before he came into my office, twin that with that fact the team hasn’t gelled within 2 days. Enough was enough” For the record Nigel Pearson is currently at home with deepening depression. He took a turn for the worst after being sacked, he knew he’d never further his career after the mighty Leicester City. It’s said he now has an OCD, and will not leave the house until he has re-wrote the team sheet of that sad day at Shepshed at least 90 times. It took weeks for Mandaric to find a decent enough management team, Harry Redknapp was clear favourite as he’ll jump ship for bunch of grapes and half a curly wurly. Mandaric felt the Leicester faithful had been through enough Judas’s for one lifetime and had to plump what he felt was a sub standard management team. The team of Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourhino took charge, there was no turning back after the record 21-1 victory against Coventry on the opening fixture of the season, but this was not perfection according to Ferguson, who was very dismissive of his new Leicester side. “The daft c*nts let a goal in” Ferguson immediately began the now legendary “torture gate” and after many hours of iron maidens, red hot pokers and much talking from Ferguson, Ferdinand finally admitted the fault was his. Ferdinand was then sacrificed at the clock tower. Leicester City Council decided to make good use of the event and threw in Peter Taylor and Ian Holloway for good measure. They were hung from the top of the tower with our friend and yours Gary Lineker as the master of proceedings. The event went well with Kasabian and clowns (Akinbiyi, Junior Lewis and Kalac) entertaining the crowd. It was rumoured Brian Little and Mark McGhee were in the crowd under cloak and dagger to make sure their names were not bantered around. McGhee lost 10 stone just for the event, and Brian dyed his hair a nice shade of auburn, they were unrecognisable. Torture gate ended well for Leicester City, the Crown Court let them off stating “Taylor and Holloway should’ve been killed years ago.. Why did it take so long? The sacrifice of Ferdinand was harsh, but he was at fault for the goal”. England manager Muppet Show Capello was saddened by the news of Ferdinand’s death when he was told on an Italian chat show, fortunately a stripper came out moments after the news was broken to him and cheered the old boy up. Surprisingly Leicester didn’t concede another goal for the rest of the season. The season ended on a high for Leicester, after a close semi final against Nottingham Forest (Leicester won 11 – 0) they ended up beating Derby in the FA cup final 15 – 0. Ferguson was delighted to hear that the derby fans attending that day didn’t make it home. So what now for Leicester City Football Club? A new super stadium is in the planning, housing 600,000 fans, as they expect the glory hunters to jump on board when they win the European Cup next year. Ferguson is currently under going treatment for alcoholism and has stated that the pressure of managing Leicester City is immense. Mourhino takes charge until Ferguson’s stint in rehab is complete Prediction: Leicester to win premiership, man u, arsenal and chelski relegated and deducted points next season for going into administration. The 25-year-old midfielder joined The Royals in 2004 from DC United. He has gone on to make nearly 100 first-team appearances, but has now departed The Madejski Stadium after he agreed to cancel his contract by mutual consent. "It hasn't worked out recently, but he will always have a place in our history," director of football Nick Hammond confirmed. Convey's agent has confirmed that Convey has a number of offers to return to Major League Soccer. "We have been approached by a number of MLS teams who have enquired about (Convey's) level of interest in returning," said Dan Segal. "At this point, he is just listening, and not making any decisions." Not a bad shout........

At the moment it seems like Dyer is just playing without much effort (bar recent games to be honest) because he knows he hasn't got much competition.

I wonder if other teams getting promoted in the past had the same problem, here was me thinking we'd put together a team to win the Premier League straight off in 2 years time. I think we should all send emails to Nigel, his team and Mandaric and warn them.

BoneDog Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 I honestly think we will be in the top 10 of the Championship next season, and I'm hopeful of a play-off spot. I think we will have some cash to spend, and if we sell a few players Mandaric might stump up 4 or 5 million. And I trust Nigel to buy 3 or 4 decent players in the summer. I might be wrong but I trust that no matter who we sold Nigel would replace them with better players. As long as we don't sell Tunchev or King I will be happy. I also think that Nige will get some even better players in on loan for next season from Premier clubs. Having said that, at the start of last season I thought we would be challenging for a play-off position!

It's going to be much harder to contain teams in the Championship than in League one obviously. I would like to think that we're going to be heading for the top 10 next season while building up a young strong side. Lets take it back to O'neil days where we fought for everything, we never gave up and never stopped playing till 90 minutes plus stoppage time was done.

If they dont sign i would of thought they would go back to their clubs, i bet they wont loan them to us in the championship. Does anyone know why it is that you dont really get decent players loaned to you in the championship, but in league 1 we do? If we sign Hobbs, Cleverly, Gilbert? then i think we have a good chance in the champonship, if the work ethic and passion is there Who knows tho!
