Ultra Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 couple of ifs here but if we win our game in hand and beat you there is only a 3 point margin left Except the game in hand is against Millwall. So a win for you is far from guaranteed.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Except the game in hand is against Millwall. So a win for you is far from guaranteed. we also have a rearranged game against crewe, either could be the game in hand really
lildave3 Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Not too good, but we rescued a point out of it. Was impressed with Swindon if i'm honest, worked hard, pressured us on the ball and didn't really give Fryatt a sniff. It seemed to me that alot of players looked tired, they just weren't reacting quick enough. Dyer was woeful, he really does need a spell on the bench. Chambers did well when he came on though, once again proving he can inject some life into the game when we need it - something Dickov obviously can't.
Salieri Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 We were awful - AGAIN.King once again rescued a wretched individual and team performance with a goal. Up until the goal, we created very little. Oakley and Howard in particular were woefully poor role models for the young players in the side. Can't see why Martin went off - apart from the save that led to their goal, he had very little to do. Maybe he was carrying an injury? The unbeaten run survives - for now. But don't expect it to last the month. And with FIVE of the next seven games away from home, the grasp on the League 1 title is now a good deal less secure. I was expecting an angrier response from you! Were we not quite as bad as the last couple of games?
samuel Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 It doesn't really matter, all the surrounding teams have had enough slip-ups in recent times to have made our "barren" spell easier. Yes we will definately lose in the coming weeks but in all honesty the gap between the top two spots and third place is going to be a bridge too far for the chasing pack as has shown today, inconsistency personified. The only consistent team is Leicester, 18 unbeaten and we are having a lean spell. Who are made champions at the end of the season doesn't matter really, getting out of the division does!
Fosse Boy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 I am waiting for He's not balds 'tarded rant Same. Not that he'll have seen the match as it wasn't on TV. I'd like to place a small wager on him saying that we're going down.

It wasn't a good performance today as you'd imagine, and I don't think we deserved anything from the game. Suppose you could call it revenge for their late goals at the County Ground earlier in the season. It was just a collectively poor performance by the whole team really, and were outdone by some good play from a player who looks scarily dangerous at times. Hopefully Martin's alright, although to be far Pentney played well when we came on. I also thought Chambers looked a handful when he replaced Cleverley and made an impact. Anyway, King's rescued us again and fair play to him. He'd hit the post twice previous to the goal and stuck at it. It's not the greatest result by any means but it's another point and it could have been worse. I just hope we don't make a habit of it.
He's not bald Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 We havent lost, still unbeaten! Yep...Brilliant!
Guppy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Just wasnt our day today, we had enough chances to win but they battled well and probably deserved something. Dyer is completely out of form, i'd play mattock LM and Berner LB next game, much more solid. Also, Chambers and Pentney looked quite good when they came on so thats a positive. On another note, did anyone else see Steve Staunton walking to the ground today? Whats he do nowadays and wonder who he was watching..
Fosse Boy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Yep...Brilliant! Tell us all that we're going down! I've got a fiver riding on this!
FilboFox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Come on people, we shouldn't be too disheartened by this... yes, we've dropped two points but we are still 9 points ahead of MK Dons and our away form has been our best form of late and with 5/7 of the next games away, surely that's a positive?
Asha Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Was disappointed with the performance today, but we managed to fight back to get a point that puts us a point further clear of 3rd.

C-man Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 In 2 weeks' time. They're coming back into form, we are woefully out of form. Could be tricky.. The last time the top two clashed this season? Scunthorpe vs Leicester on the 22nd November. We had had 3 straight draws, a lucky win against Bristol Rovers, a loss to Rotherham in the JPT, an unimpressive win against Yeovil, oh and a draw against Swindon. We went to Glanford Park, won 2-1, and we haven't lost since. Woeful form.
JoeyB Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 All i have to say ontoday is. We drew but the chaseing pack did poorly bar MK. Simon Cox just to quick for us and fair play to swindon fans who i thought were excellent!
MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 Btw, what's the club's record for games unbeaten? And what season was that We could draw all remaining 15 games and probably still get promoted automatically.
Finchy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Btw, what's the club's record for games unbeaten? And what season was that? It's 19 games apparently, but i don't know what season.
colbo68 Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Was disappointed with the performance today, but we managed to fight back to get a point that puts us a point further clear of 3rd. Wanted to make a couple of points today. First, it was good to see Pearson playing the kids - and I thought Pentney and Chambers played very well when they were given the chance they needed. Secondly, if we are going to rely on the Fryatt/Howard partnership up front next season we are going to struggle. I say again and still maintain that they are currently playing at their correct level. Hats off to Big Steve who is playing his heart out at the moment and won several key headers (he looks like he's lost a few pounds), but Fryatt was absent today and looks like he's lost some confidence.
Webbo Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 A fair result today, we didn't do enough to win it. I was quite impressed with Simon Cox, very pacey.

Maybes Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 All i have to say ontoday is.We drew but the chaseing pack did poorly bar MK. Simon Cox just to quick for us and fair play to swindon fans who i thought were excellent! Shame some of their fans were intent on glorifying fighting... Various chants "Top of the league and you've got no lads" "Walking around leicester and got fook all" "Where's your famous babysquad" However they were in the minority. As for the game, we played ok and were matched by Swindon. Andy King has the best chances of the afternoon and on another day would have had 3 goals. The points column keeps ticking over....
Bert Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Steve Howard was SHIT today. All he did was moan and give away stupid fouls. Good to see Ash get on and liven things up, we need some fresh ideas for when we go down 1-0 at home, because we struggle a lot when it happens. Still, had Kings 2 efforts which hit the post have gone in, and the one (can't remember who it was) that hit the bar gone in, it would've been a different story. Swindon had done their homework and frustrated us.

They looked a better side than their position suggests - gave us very little time on the ball - dont agree with you on Howard today - I'm not a Howard fan, but I think the problem today was Fryatt not reading his flick-ons - I'd like to see Chambers given more of a chance with Howard cos I think his pace would make the difference
