He was a fooking donkey today though.

Thank fook some of you have finally noticed.

All he does is encourage shitty long ball game.

Provocative post-creating attention-seeker, you.

Swindon saw the match - and have the intelligence to analyse it correctly.

Regarding the formation another masterstroke from Danny W. When I saw the side I inwardly groaned as I envisaged another backs to the wall display with no attack of note. How wrong I was. The inclusion of Kanyuka & Amankawaah disrupted the Leicester midfield, they had no time to pass & often their intended target was under pressure from another red shirted defender. The result was that they played the ball back to defence as much as forward & frequently it was knocked up in the air making it easy meat for the Town defence. Leicester had very little creativity although Oakley worked hard. Dyer disappointed although Fryatt looked dangerous. First half we were well in contention with Cox a constant threat. First time I've seen Greer & he looked a very good player. Ifill & Vincent looked very competent & composed on the ball. Brezovan made one sensational save late on tipping the ball over the bar whilst diving backwards. All in all a good point and whilst we were under pressure for long stretches we were very good value for that point. A very pleasing display with a defence that was authoritative & disciplined.
on the paynter front,he won 100% more headers today than ive seen him win this season, dropped back well to provide the link for cox,but was a little lethargic to say the least, especially during the end when cox was understandably knackered after running himself to the ground.

They came with a game plan, raised their effort and played out of their skins. We struggled against this effort - every home game is going to be like an FA Cup tie from now till the end of the season, this is what it means to be at the top of the table in Div.III. Those of you who seem to think we should be cruising matches are learning a valuable lesson, unfortunately I think a load of you are simply too thick to take it in.

As far as home support goes they were appalling, just wonder what they must be like if there side were on a losing run.
We defended as a unit, the midfield didn't fall to pieces, and we caused a few problems for the dfence at the top of the league. Cox had a great game, as did Jack Smith. Brezovan didn't put a foot wrong either apart from one (or maybe two) misplaced kicks.

Wilson got the tactics spot on today, and although people have mentioned his lack of substitutions I really don't see how any changes would have been beneficial.

As for the fans, we totally outsung a pathetic set of home supporters and today was one of those days I was proud to be a Town fan.

Yup. That's us to a T. We were, again, really shit. I say "we" but I appear to have a sore throat this morning so I know I was chanting...such a shame 18,000 of you couldn't be arsed. Why do you bother coming? You don't sing and then you moan.

I have so little respect for the bulk of our "support".

Sad but true. Next match I go to I'm gonna sit in either the Kop or L1/2. Fed up of sitting with the SSM (silent seated majority.)

There was an arsehole stood next to me in the first half who called every pass that missed it's target the worst pass he'd ever seen, even though the previous 10 were the worst too. I was so relieved when he pissed off in the second half.

I had an idiot behind me- defined the word "impatient".

How I wish the bloke who sat behind me for the first four years of the Way would come back.

Really uninspiring performance today.

Where were our strikers - tons of chances wasted.

I can't be bothered to go through 6 pages but my view of today's game has a lot to do with the above.

Was it really that uninspiring. TBH I thought Swindon played out of their skins, yet we still created 7 very good chances :

King in the first half should have scored, decent save.

Gilbert should have scored, good block.

Cleverley cross shot which just eleuded Fryatt.

Great interlink play down the RW where Oakley burst through but put in a poor cross.

King and Mattock hitting the woodwork in the second half.

Gilbert falling over after Berner had cut the ball back.

What I'm trying to say is, on paper we should have stuffed a team near the bottom, but against a forward 2 who were outstanding today, we showed a lot of fight and character to come back from a goal down and get a point. And this point ultimately took us further away from 3rd place.

I'm not sure if Fryatt has fully recovered but he's got over 20 goals this season and I have no doubt his shooting boots will return.

We weren't great today yet still created some great chances and whilst we did resort to hoof ball for the last 15 minutes, this actually put them under a load of pressure and made numerous edge of the box scrambles.

Now for a moan...Oakley corners - please practice them so you can beat the first man.

Dyer - give him a rest, he's seems knackered both physically and mentally.

CB's - Only 1 goal conceded in 2 games, but they have been sprung on countless occasions and I wonder whether an old head is needed to go with one of the two.

A positive to come out of this though. Morrison's hoofs at the end seemed to be our most dangerous route and his cross field balls were pretty much accurate into the edge of the box every time.

Hobbs played like a playmaker today and made some cracking surges forward.

Meh. Its a point and i'm taking that as a positive, I personally don't think it was as bad as Oldham last week, but perhaps that is because we deserved to lose yesterday and we snatched a late equalizer making it feel better.

If anyone thought we were going to go throughout the whole season without a blip or a dodgy period they are stupid, TBH I don't think many would have expected us to be in the position we are, this many points clear, I certainly didn't, obviously I expected we'd be near the top but I didn't imagine we would be top virtually all season.

I tell you what the it's going to kick off between me and the bloke who sits next to me soon, When we play well and win he doesn't say a word (Literally) but when we are playing rubbish or losing he soon finds his voice, moan, moan, moan, and this is coming from me. Just a few quotes "Worst game I have ever seen", "Worst team I have ever seen", "Pathetic Corner, Never seen one worse in my life", "We ain't gonna score today", "Pathetic", "Fooking Disgraceful", "Fooking Awful", they are all from yesterday he didn't sit next to me last year (Thank-God, can you imagine...) all those moans and comments mixed in with him getting up and down every 15 minutes for the toilet, but how the fook did he deal with life last season if he is moaning at this season?

I just made it clear that I was laughing AT him yesterday, and when we scored and he jumped around going mad - after 86 minutes of moaning previously I then role reversed and used some of his comments. Next time he moans i'm gonna ask him if he has renewed his season ticket and hopefully he will say no the I can say Good, Don't fooking bother! Because if he is moaning this season, God help him next season.

Twat.

Spot on.

Especially the bit about the fighting spirit - I'm not sure people recognise the fact that we fought and battled, despite conceding, and took near as dammit 60% of the possession across the two halves. For me this is a huge positive and a dramatic turnaround from last season.

As I've said in another thread, if our bad patch is a few draws & remaining unbeaten, then I don't see what the problem is? Only when a few losses start coming I'll be worried.

& as others have said, our fight and determination to grab a point out of the game was something we didn't see last year, so that is something to be positive about.

Tuesday's game has come at the perfect time, I think the players will be very keen to get back on the pitch & get three points, so hopefully we see our away form continue, pick up three points then who cares what everyone else does? As long as we win, that is all that matters.

I think now is the time for Pearson to make a few changes & rest the players that aren't performing & haven't for a while, ie Dyer & Gilbert.

We're top of the table, 9 points clear & unbeaten in god 17/18 is it? You'd think we were mid-table.

Cheer up lads/lasses, stop moaning & fucking sing when your at the game, the Walkers is like a bloody morgue.

I'd forgotten about it but that Gilbert chance was little more than a 10-yard tap in.

Gilbert responded like the ball was a timebomb and was falling all over the place when he addressed it.

Didn't shape up like a footballer at all.

in my opinion its a shame to come on here this morning to see, throughout this thread, so many people openly slagging each other off in such an abusive way. I suffered it in the last week or so when I tried to make a point about bringing through some of the youth team players and not relying on loanees. I felt that Pentney and Ash Chambers turned the game for us yesterday and would like to see more of them.

For me, this site should be an adult discussion about the various issues/themes/feelings of the City supporters, rather than a juvenile 'fookin twat' style scenario.

Finally, I stand tall in my belief that we are gonna struggle next season when we go up, if we are gonna rely on the long-ball game to big Steve looking for flick-ons that are not always read by the other players. This is why I was hoping this season to start building a side that could vary their play. Its a big loss to us that Mark Davies left the club because he was the one central midfielder who could run at defences and did not have to pick-up a Howard flick-on to do so.

Anyway, i'd like to see more ideas on this site (eg. Thracian) and less open warfare.

How else could we have played yesterday? We weren't going to cut them open with fast, flowing football- they had too many men behind the ball for that to happen.

I'm not looking at next season- get promoted first then look at the squad.

lol I see quite a few are complaining about a person(s) around them. Well I surely had the worst, some 50 yr old bleached blonde hag with her husband in all their LCFC megastore deals. I literally wanted to get up, walk two rows behind me, knock her out and calmly go and sit back down. Think I might have even got a cheer for doing it. I bet she has never kicked a football in her life and yet every 2minutes, screamed with her smokers voice some stupid abuse that had nothing to do with what was actually going on!

Anyway back to the performance. It really is a sign of a top team who can play so poorly yet still get a point towards promotion. First 20minutes, we tried to play the right stuff and some of the passing was great. For some reason we didn't have that cutting edge and I'm still not sure whether that was missing from the midfield or the front two. Couldn't really fault Howard, he won a lot of headers again and even worked his way in to some half chances. Fryatt was closely marked but even so, seemed a little slow today. He would be so much better if he had pace like Cox.

Anyone who saw the game must surely agree that Dyer needs to be dropped to the bench, he was so ineffective. Morrison's long balls were just desperate when we didn't need to be. I really think Brown should start on tuesday night. He must be a good player for playing so much in Hull's success last season. Hobbs was ok today, think he will turn in to a quality CB, perhaps too good for Leicester i'm afraid.

I see a few mixed reactions on Cleverly. For me, he is always trying to make things happen but I'm not sure where his best position is yet. He's not a natural winger but he also didn't look great when started in CM against Northampton. Switching Cleverly and Oakley in 2nd half didn't seem to achieve much but was worth a try from Pearson. Oakley wasn't at his best today but then if we are going to bypass our midfield like that with long balls to Howard, then how are they supposed to get a grip and start their passing game.

Pearson didn't seem happy on the touchline today, I really don't think that's the way he wants us to play. Don't think he approved of Morrison's long ball tactic but I could be wrong. He seems to have giving Dickov enough chances now and so I see bringing Chambers on as a sign of that which will please a lot on here. Not sure Chambers is up to it yet myself but hope I'm wrong.

On tuesday, I just hope we start playing the way we have for most the season. We pass the ball around with speed and style. We have skillful players to do this and so should use them. So tues lets get back to what we know and are good at. Brown and Gradel to replace Morrison and Dyer and lets have 3 points!!

i'm afraid I agree with you on Hobbs - I think he's quality and am surprised at the amount of stick he got post Swindon. For me, of all the loanees he's the one we need to keep, but I reckon he's the one least likely to stay. Give him two or three seasons at City and I reckon he could be like Walshie, however dont think its gonna happen.

It's a sign of the times that most grounds have a crappy atmosphere. The bottom line is that todays generation of "singing" fans are not a patch on those of yesteryear. In the old days you just supported the team - full stop.

A large proportion of the current breed seem to me to be a bunch of know it all yet know nothing half-wits. Talk about gobby parents living their failed footballing careers when shouting at little son Johnny in kids football. Most of todays booing culture is just taking that level of support into professional football.

Television and radio phone-ins have a lot to answer for.

So true, sign of our modern society. We like to moan and groan and don't know a good thing when it slaps us in the face! Only happy when complaining. Doubt we will evr get back to cracking atmospheres!

Up until the goal, we created very little. Oakley and Howard in particular were woefully poor role models for the young players in the side.

Are you taking the piss? Didn't we hit the woodwork three times? Didn't their keeper make a couple of good saves? What about that one-on-one?

The problem is, the authorities have made the atmosphere cack, to not be allowed to stand and sing at a football match is an absolute fucking joke. You cannot project your self whilst sat down, it's the equivalent of singing a hymn at a funeral. This rule has to change and fast because it is ruining it for all fans.

Can't believe how much stick Howard is getting! Ok he wasn't great but he was much more useful than most the others in the team. He won countless headers, some he had no right to win. For me Fryatt was always a step too slow and didn't feed off the flick ons like he can do. Anyone who who slates Howard on here doesn't know much about football and can't have been watching the game.

We were poor on the whole.

Bright points:

Pentney had a great game when he came on, showing he is more than capable.

Hobbs was wonderful again and doing a great job whilst Tunchev is missing.

We didn't lose.

Dickov didn't come on.

Nice to see Chambers being given a run-out.

Bad points:

Gilbert and Dyer continue to play poorly.

Despite King somehow hitting the post and bar 3 times and scoring he was virtually non-existent again along with Oakley and Cleverley.

Fryatt's not scoring.

No Gradel on the bench.

Today, I bear the scars, or the bruises in any case, of yesterdays equaliser. >_<
