MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Thank god we have a King. Really uninspiring performance today. Where were our strikers - tons of chances wasted. Or are they just getting too tired? What's going on? Still on top, but MK Dons have closed in (69 to 60). Not too happy about today's point. Could've been two more. At least now unbeaten in 18 league games... and counting!
Finchy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 It's a bad patch, it will pass, just be thankful that in our bad patches we still draw It's ok that MK Dons have closed in, a bit annoying but ultimately as long as we go up I don't care and we're miles away from the play off teams. Please people don't start acting like nobs like last week
Collymore Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 You can't expect us to win every game. 9 points clear at this stage is some achievement, if we can get 3 points tues night then we'll be buzzing again. Some people sound like Man Utd fans.
MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2009 Author Posted 14 February 2009 I'm worried about the two following away games. Will the players still have fresh legs now that they've given such a lame show today? Hartlepool and especially Bristol Rovers are two tough nuts to crack. We need Cleverley in the middle again and the striker situation sorted. What did Fryatt and Howard do all match long - chewing gum?
Anish Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 At least we didn't lose. We've got to up our game though - the chasing pack are beginning to catch up and we're not exactly on form.
Finchy Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 At least we didn't lose. We've got to up our game though - the chasing pack are beginning to catch up and we're not exactly on form. ??? S****horpe lost Peterborough lost Millwall drew
Collymore Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 ???S****horpe lost Peterborough lost Millwall drew yeah exactly, it's all about that 2nd spot. Not too bothered what MK Dons do tbh, if they did catch us I'd be surprised mind. It's also nice to see Leeds struggle
GUJJIFOX Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 just glad we got that goal - a point is better than nothing whether we played good football or not, a result is a result - thank god for kingy! still a few points clear, still on top, only a backup keeper to worry about (pentney seemed to have kept us in it - well done him !! )
DanTheFox07 Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Just curious about pentney our young keeper, have just checked his profile on our official site and the skysports site and none of them have how old he is? anyone know?
James. Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 16 point cushion between us and the play offs. Still unbeaten. If this is our bad patch then I'm well happy.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 yeah exactly, it's all about that 2nd spot. Not too bothered what MK Dons do tbh, if they did catch us I'd be surprised mind. It's also nice to see Leeds struggle IMO, we've still got enough in the tank to win the League One title.. Even if we go on a bad-run, we'd still win it tbh
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Frustrating. Berner should be starting imo, with Oakley on the right and Cleverley benched. Also good to see Chambers preferred over Dickov.
DCM Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 16 point cushion between us and the play offs. Still unbeaten. If this is our bad patch then I'm well happy. i'll second that, makes us man utd in comparison to last seasons 'bad patch'
tewkesbury-fox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 It's a bad patch, it will pass, just be thankful that in our bad patches we still draw spot on it was bound to happen, teams look at us as a bench mark in this division, and are going to up their game specially when they come to the walkers its a long old season, besides all though MK won all the other contenders havent really gained.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 The team who finished on 69 points at the end of the season last year were Brighton in 7th place.. we really are marching onwards and upwards Final League One League Table]
Hitesh Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 9 points clear is still good, and I know its our 3rd home draw in a row but we were always going to have a "not so good" patch of results. I don't want to call it a bad run because we aren't losing. But this is why we have such a cushion over other teams. We have accommodated for a run of results when we aren't winning. We just need to keep going and getting the results!
Cropwellfox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 Frustrating.Berner should be starting imo, with Oakley on the right and Cleverley benched. Also good to see Chambers preferred over Dickov. Completely agree. We got out of our last silly run of drawn games when Berner started regularly. I'd give Chambers a start over Fryatt on Tuesday, too. As for a keeper, we need one with a bit of league experience in asap with 3 away games to come. There are a few decent ones third choice... Stuart Taylor, Kasper Schmeichel, Lee Camp???
Ultra Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 We were awful - AGAIN. King once again rescued a wretched individual and team performance with a goal. Up until the goal, we created very little. Oakley and Howard in particular were woefully poor role models for the young players in the side. Can't see why Martin went off - apart from the save that led to their goal, he had very little to do. Maybe he was carrying an injury? The unbeaten run survives - for now. But don't expect it to last the month. And with FIVE of the next seven games away from home, the grasp on the League 1 title is now a good deal less secure.

We need Cleverley in the middle again and the striker situation sorted. What did Fryatt and Howard do all match long - chewing gum? they've had to play as well - I don't see why 4 points from these games is not realistic. I would be quite happy playing all the remaining games away
FilboFox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 One more point towards automatic promotion!!! UP THE CITEH!!!

At least now unbeaten in 18 league games... and counting! Agreed, we are very short on option`s up front! maybe worth giving chambers a chance just to freshen things up for us, Seem`s we are to reliant on Fryatt scoring to win games. not sure when we are playing Mk Don`s again, but if it is within the next few weeks need a big performance to carry on promotion push.
surrifox Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 only 3 points from a possible 12 from our games with swindon and brighton is a weird statistic given how poor their respective seasons have been
Part Of The Crowd Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 IMO, we've still got enough in the tank to win the League One title.. Even if we go on a bad-run, we'd still win it tbh couple of ifs here but if we win our game in hand and beat you there is only a 3 point margin left
Ultra Posted 14 February 2009 Posted 14 February 2009 not sure when we are playing MK Dons again, but if it is within the next few weeks need a big performance to carry on promotion push. In 2 weeks' time. They're coming back into form, we are woefully out of form. Could be tricky..
