Tommeh Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Google maps is fcuked. It's saying Liverpool is still in Europe. YES! I was certainly wrong on one thing, game entertainment value after I predicted two snoozefest's. Loved Alex's goal, was talking to a Pool fan at work and he said I "dont like real football" as I support Leicester as it boomed in. What a fooking disabled!!!!!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Expecting a bore 0-0 or something like that tonight. I hope I'm wrong but i can't see there being more than two goals scored. Glad Chelsea went through, can't stand Liverpool. Not the city, not the people, just the club and it's fans for some reason. Drogba was unplayable second half, he's looked quality under Hiddink. He may be a cheating shit, but when he's up for it, there aren't many better centre forwards in the world. The way he shrugged off Carragher with ease at one point was brilliant. Shame Ashley Cole got booked for some Spaniard feining injury as well, would've been nice to see him keep Messi in his back pocket in the first semi. Frank Lampard was as brilliant as he always has been for Chelsea, but Cech has not been the same since he fractured his skull at Reading. Some of his decision making was atrocious tonight. I'd fancy Chelsea to beat Barcelona in the semis, they didn't look too special against Bayern tonight.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Alex's freekick was orgasmic. Delighted to hear the stunned silence of the plastic scousers in the pub after that went in.. Which was only interrupted by my vociferous laughter. Lovely.
Raj Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 So happy Liverpool went out, hate them with a passion. When Liverpool went 3-2, where did their great fans go ? Did they lose their voices ? Glory fooking fans in truth. Liverpool were better first half, Chelsea were better second. Chelsea clearly deserve it over the two legs. Liveeeeerpool win fuk allllllll. My God i agree with Ash!!! BUT Nath has a point. He likes Barca but atleast he does go to Barca and watches em. Fair does to him. Thats the point though. Most closet glory hunters dont even know where Liverpool/Chelski/Manchester?Arsenal etc are. Its shameful.
Darkzzz_ Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Anyway... I am just going to enjoy the next round, I am not going to lie, I would be annoyed if Barca went out, but I would get over it and admit their failures if I had to. I always have done. Some people dislike the Spanish teams for their own reasons, I don't care, but i am almost 100% certain they would be whistling a different tune if Leicester were a premiership team right now. I am not for one minute saying it is wrong, who am I to tell people what to do, I am just saying I don't agree with it at all. I have seen supposed fans of other teams getting worked up about Chelsea v Liverpool it kind of got to the point where I had to laugh. I have taken the bait in the past but I no longer do that, I instead just sit back and enjoy the football the way I want to see it and then get amused by other people who make these silly predictions and comments like "Terry is going to smash Messi" and "Barca" are over rated. Barcelona were even criticised for their performance last night, they done ok, but come on think about it, could you really motivate a team that much more who had practically won the whole tie in the first game? Anyway, I am not going to make any predictions, I will say what I have said all along, Barca have to do their work at home because Stamford bridge will be tough for them. I am sure they will have special treatment lined for Lionel Messi, which will please the hate club. I just hope he can show the form that has made him piss all over anyone in the football world right now and that isn't my biased view, everyone within the game who I respect has said the same when asked about him. But then again, why should I like him, I am English, I have to show my patriotic side because of what "Maradona" done to us in 1986 and all that bollocks... I have to because your not accepted if you like Argentina and Maradona, your not accepted as an Englishman unless you give your own redention of the "German Bombers" song. I remember questioning a bloke and asking why he sang that song for, his answer said it all "Because everyone else does" And that is where I shall end this on the word... "Followers"
Monk Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I just got a last minute ticket for Arsenal tonight through a mate. MIXER that's all I can say!

Darkzzz_ Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 I certainly wouldn't turn down a ticket to any top class football match. Arsenal will see them off tonight. I would love to think that Villarreal will shock us all but It won't happen.

"Followers" Im as prouder Englishman as you will find , Maradona was my idol and if i could pick 1 person in the world to meet then it may be him . It pisses me off that the English all tend to be put in that bracket but i can only speak for myself when i say those arseholes piss me right off, but its a minority who spoilt it . The only ever time i have ever sang the 10 German bomber song was at the World cup 06 when a load of Dortmund fans wanted me to teach it them and they thought it was hilarious and sung it amongst each other all night which was pretty funny , at one stage the whole of Mainz train station were signing it and 80% were German !!!

That is great to hear and If you ever did get near Diego, I would like you to give me a shout, Legend.. I should have mentioned in my rant that I know not everyone is like that, but it is a shame the majority are. That Dortmund story must have been funny, I just had a image of them singing it. Crazy!!

Lillehamring Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Yeh decent game wasnt it . Chelsea vs Barca will be a cracker and it will be too close to call regardless of Nathko playing down Barcas chances if you want to watch a gay-boy-divefest

"Followers" My jokes about Cole keeping Messi in his back pocket were made in jest, I think everyone on here knows what a top footballer he is, and I've not really felt any "hatred" towards Barca. I do fancy Chelsea to beat Barca just because they didn't look anything special last night, it's only a tiny criticism of them, it doesn't mean I'm in some kind of anti-Barcelona brigade.
Finnegan Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 if you want to watch a gay-boy-divefest What were you saying about latent homophobia?

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 You are the leader of the anti-Barca brigade. I am disappointed in you MTWG.*tuts They didn't look good last night though. Even Dani Alves ( ) managed to look average. At one point I think he rugby tackled someone.
Darkzzz_ Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 They didn't look good last night though. Even Dani Alves ( ) managed to look average. At one point I think he rugby tackled someone. No they were below average last night, but even a below average Barca managed to get a 1-1 draw at Bayern. They just never got going, not that they needed to. Alves, I do like him going forward, but going back, I think he must pass himself again, he is that quick. He does make some ridiculous challenges, I hope he doesn't sniper Drogba in the next round, how many times has Didier been shot, more times than Tupac and Biggie for sure.
purpleronnie Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Good news for Chelsea, Ashley cole wont play after getting booked. Oh wait no, he's one of the best defenders in the world, sorry i forgot.
Fox You Forest Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Good news for Chelsea, Ashley cole wont play after getting booked. When the commentator said Cole would miss the next game i thought to myself now that's a stroke of luck for them.

Joe. Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Arsenal will draw 0-0 tonight I reckon. United will see off Porto. Just. 1-0.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 April 2009 Posted 15 April 2009 Cannot see why Tevez is on the bench and Berbatov is starting, baffling decision. Oh well makes it better for Porto.
