davieG Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I don't get any anymore.Where's it all gone? I was just saying the same the other day, when I was with NTL with an NTL email address I used to get over a 100/day. Since I've changed to google none!. NTL always denied it was anything to do with their security and yet every spam mail I got was also addressed to many other NTL addressees. I'm missing all those tempting drug offers, penis enlarge pills and penis extension ops, life seems so boring now!

Not junk email, not spam - I'm talking the hardcopy stuff. I used to have a doorway full of flyers and leaflets. Not now. Nothing.

Monk Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 It seems to come in waves, though Gmail seems to filter it very well. I've only ever had one or two occasions where it has missed one.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I must get 4 fcuking menus a day through my letterbox. Drives me bonkers. I don't get much other junk mail though.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 The junk mail seems to have dried up for the last couple of weeks at work. However, this is the slow time of year. No Christmas, holiday brochures are out and not yet into all the SUMMER OFFERS! Having said that we only had 2 door-to-door items last week (the stuff with no address on, normally there are 3 (which is the maximum by law)) and next week we have none. A little worrying cos they can add £15-£25 to your wages, depending on the size of your walk. However, I have seen/heard quite a few advisors saying that during a recession a company should increase it's advertising budget, so I fear the worst - I fear things are going to get a lot worse all round. The loss of junk mail may be the only positive!
Zingari Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 i just find it more interesting these days and don't class it as junk ; maybe it's an age thing

lavrentis Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Just had one not long ago from Wentworth Direct Finance. Bastards, I always get em.

The stuff that comes through my letterbox gets put back into the Royal Mail system; I have opted out of unsolicited mail, and don't appreciate it whether it comes addressed to me or not.
Lovejoy Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Wenever I get a menu through the door I try it at least once if it's reasonably priced. I suspect I'm in the minority here .

So when someone sends you a birthday card or such like, without asking you first, you "don't appreciate it"?
Guest Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 So when someone sends you a birthday card or such like, without asking you first, you "don't appreciate it"? That is not unsolicited though, that's pedantry gone stupid. Besides, if you knew anything about me, you would know that I don't really keep quiet about my birthday!!
BigGibbo Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 I don't get any anymore.Where's it all gone? I think yours must be being diverted to my gaff!

JakeShingler Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 I guess if you've got long legs you must be on a real earner. Or a car.
Finnegan Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 I think a lot of the people assuming you were talking about email sort of answer your question. It's cheaper to spam your email inbox than your letter box these days.
