Peterborough United v Leicester City Post Match

Have to say I was ambivalent about Posh before, now I'm happy to watch them slump back to the foot of DivIV where they belong.

Sound like a Leeds fan there, just because you was once a rather large club you don't think it is right for small clubs to do well and challenge.

We are both two good footballing sides on our day, yday you was off par, and so were we by our normal standards.

The result has piss all to do with my feelings about your club, I'm more angry at my side than bitter about yours.

I'd like to see you slump back because your ground is shit, a shed for a toilet and wankers for stewards. I'd like to see you return to your natural level instead of punching above your weight because your fans are twats who sat in silence even when winning 1-0. I thought your policing was excessive and idiotic, the match being moved to 12:00 was ridiculous and your city centre sucks arse.

You have a decent side, scored an excellent goal - I don't give a shit if you do well and challenge, I simply don't think that your support, ground and city deserves the team it has.

All the people who go on about bringing back standing got a bit of a reality check yesterday. A few people have mentioned how packed it was yesterday but that wasn't especially crowded compared to big matches at Filbert Street in the early 80s.

Also the view wasn't brilliant either, I totally missed this fight between Dickov and Gilbert/Gradel.

The thing with standing though is that it wasn't perfect before as clubs allowed too many to stand in one area in order to maximise revenues but the solution wasn't to do away with it completely but to refine it by giving people more square footage, that would have meant a price in crease but we got that anyway and were forced to sit.

Why? Were you standing behind Kareem?

It may not be your cup of tea but I bloody loved it - just because the facilities were rooted in the 70's doesn't mean safe standing in the 10's would be the same. I'd suggest you go look at the safe standing areas on offer in Germany before making similar comments

Yesterday was so, so shit.

Dickov is useless, Barry Hayles is no better.

Pearson should have sorted the striking situation a long time ago. Every man & his dog knew Hayles & Dickov wouldn't be sufficient back up for Fryatt & Howard. Also, Fryatt is so off form it is unreal and he is absolutely lost without Steve.

A win Saturday is a must now, can't believe we've let our lead slip down to just 4 points.

Would love it if Howard bagged a few Saturday, prove his worth to all the moaners.

Ian Stringer of Radio Leicester still described you as "the best side seen in League 1 this season" (???)

You'd never guess he has a background in reality TV.

i didn't particularly enjoy the game yesterday but that has nothing to do with the standing. Pepole were comparing this with Hillsborough when as I said it wasn't especially crowded.

People who have never experienced a proper terrace before have a romantic vision of what it was really like. They've never had to fight their way through a crowd to go for a piss.

As for the view I was behind the goal 10/15 rows back. I saw the ball hit the back of the net for the first goal but I never the player shoot because he was out of my eyeline.

Anyway, I didn't see you in the Drapers, which pub did you go in?

I would also like to talk about our preparation before games that aren't a 3pm kick off on a Saturday.

4 Losses.

1pm - Millwall 1-0

7.45pm (Tuesday) - Brighton 3-2

7.45pm (Wednesday) - Tranmere 2-0

12pm - Peterborough 2-0

6 Draws.

7.45pm (Tuesday) - Walsall 2-2

7.45pm (Tuesday) - Brighton 0-0

3pm (Friday) - Leeds 1-1

17.20 - Oldham 0-0

7.45pm (Tuesday) Hartlepool 2-2

7.45pm - (Tuesday) Stockport 1-1

So we've dropped 24 points from games that aren't a 3pm kick off on a Saturday. Compare that to the fact we have only dropped 14 points on Saturdays at 3pm.

Something is obviously wrong in the way we prepare for our games at these times, be interesting to see what happens when Leeds & Scunthorpe come to town.

College Arms. I prefer my pubs unpacked and unpoliced - the Drapers looked absolute hell.

Went to Charters Bar afterwards, the boat on the river on the way back into town.

I can. The loss of key players hasn't helped nor the ridiculous lack of adequate replacements. Sending DJ out on loan was inexplicable when it was obvious to most that Dickov and Hayles were spent forces. But above all our fallback has coincided with Pearson becoming focused on holding what we have and our fans/media deciding the job was done.

Even the programme for the Colchester game (Page 61) carries a Leicester Mercury advert headlined "We're Going Back Up With Nigel".

We might but there's no guarantee and the job is in no way done yet. Even Mandaric came out with his triumphalist comments which - while acknowledging we needed to complete our task - basically implied that we were as good as up.

We're not. And it's folly to make assumptions in football.

That advert came out at the start of the season and has been used ever since.

Absolutely.

We should beat Carlisle on Saturday but there's no guarantee we will do so - especially if Pearson, as I suspect, decides to make Gradel a scapegoat for yesterday's defeat.

We are going to look like complete cocks if we don't go up at this rate.

Our run in is tough, theres no doubting that. Scunneh, Leeds, Crewe, Southend.

Earlier in the season I was being rideculed due to my negativity. People said that the run in would be piss easy. Finally some people seem to have woken up to the fact that we could easily lose those 4 Games, with the way we have been choking at home recently.

Granted, we can easily come out and produce performances like Millwall, grit, determination, battle hard, pride. But we havent done that in the last two weeks, whats to say we will start with Carlisle again.

One thing is for absolutle certain. We are not going to Wembley this season. If we blow it, we wont win the semi-final... no way. However, I feel we can do it, we can scrape 2nd place, because of our excellent mid-season run.

As has been said, Millwall do play Peterborough. Lets accept that Posh have won the title, they should be favourites, and I certainly feel they will come through and win it. We need them to beat Millwall to stop their juggernaut. If Millwall catch us, well, that would be a tragedy.

However, let me stress that I think we can sneak it. It may just go down to the last day, and it may be that we win the games we can win and go up. (realistically, I would be looking to beat Carlisle, Scunny and Hereford, lose them, and we are in deep shit)

I cannot tell you how much I would fear for this club if we didnt go up. Everyone would be deflated, we would be a lughing stock of English football, Pearson would come under fire, Milan would be tearing his hair out, the players would be destroyed. We would not bounce back, and so would begin a long and dismal spell in Fizzy Pop Tier 2.

Thats my negativity done for the day.

You're about as frightening as a feather duster!

but with a smaller vocabulary!

we'll resume this next season,

To the rest of you, I wish you all the best and look forward to two good games next season.

Well that's not right is it.

People aren't asking for a return to terraces such as Peterborough, they're asking for SAFE STANDING AREAS. Completely different to terracing.

Look how it's worked in Germany, it's just not comparible to how a terrace is.

How do you celebrate a goal properly in one of those?

The problem with the terracing at points yesterday was that people had forgotten how to use terracing or had no previous knowledge. Rather than helping each other and clearing the gangways, they just stood there. The stewards all disappeared and you'd be lucky if they were 10 in the whole away end. Poxy really. A lot including myself was late for the game - a mass surge of about 400 at kick-off wasn't going to help things.

Crap day really.

I didn't see the game nor the highlights but I did hear that Kisnorbo had a good match.

I did worry about him being selected because I don't think that he matches our style of play as good as he is. I worry he is too entrenched in how we played for the last few seasons..

My question is, how many games is it since we played with Kisnorbo and won? I think it might be a fair few...

Won two, drawn three, lost three in matches this season as far as I can see. Two wins in eight including the collapse at Brighton and the ignominy at Rotherham. One of the wins was against Stevenage. Hardly inspirational.

I was surprised we used him Saturday because we'd already been forced to make enough changes without making more changes that we didn't have to.

He was okay against Peterborough but no more than that.

The Posh fans on here are making me giggle a bit to be fair. Peterborough looked very average in my opinion and apart from the 15 minute spell at the start of the second half they were unimpressive. The first goal was completely against the run of play. Apart from a couple of pinball moments around our box and the freekick which bounced off the bar, Peterborough didn't look like scoring either. We didn't play well and didn't take the few chances that we did have. 2-0 was very flattering, but a 1-0 could have been justified based on how few chances we created.

I'm not worried about our ability to bounce back, something which I couldn't have said last season.

I was going to post what Tilley posted about kick off times last night.

Whenever we play at a different time to 3pm, we seem to be shit.

Evenings at home have been a real chore this season - I'm not looking forward to our Friday night match without beer.
