theunknownfan Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 What?! How can you make that assumption when we're not even there yet? He said he BELIEVES we're LIKELY going up as champions. Of course he's bloody assuming, he knows he's doing it....

posh1989 Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Posh fan in peace. Don't be too disheartened, still 4 points clear! I won't say we played you off the park but we had most of the game, and Fryatt without Howard feeding him looks very ordinary. I don't know what you think about Dickov/Hayles, but they are both complete pricks - I hope you offload them tbh as if we both go up I don't want to see them and I am sure some of you don't either especially Dickov. Dirty players. Llyod Dyer best winger in the league for me, but today didn't do much. And to whoever asked about the ref - he isn't fit to referee an under 10s match, completely bottled it to the pressure of a big name club appealing. Good luck in your quest for promotion, and may the title race continue!! EDIT - Just thought i'd say, your players were arguing alot in the last 15-20 mins, especially Gilbert and Gabel (if that is his name) - looked like a team who has been up there for so long that they're starting to crack, your thoughts on that?? If any was there that are on here, you will know what I mean.

Ultra Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 All i heard on the radio was that the ref had a shocker, anyone who went want to comment on this? Thracian, Davie G and I discussed this. None of us would use this as an excuse for the defeat, though. We got what we deserved - jack. The momentum in the run-in is definitely with Peterborough. Even if we manage to hang on to 1st place, the long-term signs for next season are not good.
Fox92 Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Just got back in, and i am tired and frustrated. ___ Thought we missed Howard, King and Cleverly. Oakley and Hobbs were perhaps the best players out of a poor bunch. Thought we didn't deserve to be 1 down at half time, having Peterborough not been in our half much. Dickov missed a chance that may have changed things, but then again we were very, very poor. ___ Thank god we have Howard and King back next week and hopefully we should do Carlisle. ___ I want to get promoted automatically, but playing in this league once (hopefully) and winning it would be nice!
ousefox Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 They were poor today but we were even poorer. We did not look like scoring once. Tony Warner was immense today and was not at fault for any of the goals. We missed Howard a lot today but i thought Dickov had an OK game as well as being a lot better than Fryatt. I feel he should start on saturday.

Wasn't great but did what was needed.
Dames Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I fail to see why Pearson persists with playing Barry Hayles?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Leeds beating Dons and Crewe holding Millwall at half-time. Shame we can't make our own good news though.

Doyle Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Posh fan here, Was a great game to watch, everybody knows Leicester are a good side and under performed today. The run in to the end of the season is going to be very tight. Posh have the momentum to maybe clinch the title though. A great performance on the pitch and the atmosphere created due to that was amazing. Good luck for the rest of the season, lose a few though please

Webbo Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 We were especially poor today. Their keeper never made a save. The ref was crap but that's not why we lost. Not a single player stood out today, all poor to average.
Tilley Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Shots on target? Could count them on my left hand, fucking wank. Pissed off today with that. Bottling it.

A great performance on the pitch and the atmosphere created due to that was amazing. Good luck for the rest of the season, lose a few though please Until you scored we never heard a sound from the home fans. In fact, it was only after the second went in that your fans were 'creating' any atmosphere. There was more atmosphere in the Drapers Arms at 10.30 than there was in the ground at 12.00 I thought. That said, Ian C's fooking miserable prediction cam scarily close again - it was miserable weather and we were shit. Why we persisted in trying the long ball into the wind throughout the first half when we had Fryatt and Dickov to challenge their centre backs is completely beyond me. Posh only really had one shot on goal in the opening 45 minutes, but the shot they had was an unchallenged effort from about fifteen yards out and that had goal written all over it. Second half we battled a little more, but still couldn't string two passes together. Every loose ball went to a blue shirt. Apart from Millwall and Cheltenham, it feels like that's been the case for quite a few games now. We win the header, or the tackle, and immediately launch a hopeful punt forward - we only look composed when we're going backwards. Fryatt, Dyer, Dickov, Oakley, in fact everyone except Maxy, seemed to turn away from goal every time they got the ball. Is that nerves? Tiredness? Lack of confidence? I don't know. But it makes no sense for a team at the top of the league to be playing such timid football. We don't run at defenders any more, we don't close down and we try to pass the ball into the net. Lighten up, City, for fook's sake, you're top of the league.
carterfox90 Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 JUST GOT BACK TO TELL THE TRUTH WE WERE AWFUL THANK GOD WARNER WAS ON FORM ELSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LEAST 4-0 HAS THE WHEELS ON OUR PROMOTION TRAIN COME OFF.............I THINK SO BOTTLED IT NO CAPTAIN NO PASSION NO FECKING CLUE NIGEL SORT IT QUICKLY !!!!!!!!!!11

We will still get promotion, whether it will be first or second place. I think we'll still finish as champions to be honest.

B_lcfc Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 posh fans were awful...u call that support? city fans were still singin even when we were 2-0 down, what was with all the passing back instead of forward to, oh well theyve worked hard this season longs were champions all is gr8
Matt Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 We were awful, Didn't deserve anything, and I'm not just picking him out because I don't like him because all our players we as bad as each other today but Dickov - Will people now realise he isn't the answer? Just because he scored last week, made him a hero in some people eyes, IMO the game improved in our favour when Old Barry was bought on, still poor but better. And some bloke was saying on the way back was still slagging Howard off saying "We lost, but we didn't miss him and the loss was nothing to do with missing him" fook. Off. I said if we lost it was wide open and I could see us finishing 2nd, now we have lost my heart is saying we will finish top, my head is saying we will throw the league away and finish 2nd. I can see us losing to Leeds and drawing to Scunny, losing that 4 point gap, I think we will be relying on Peterborough's remaining results to do the job for us.
