fox123 Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 From the Mockery A severed head believed to be the remains of a murder victim has been discovered in a Leicestershire field. The head was found near woodland in Asfordby, Melton. The discovery was made by a man out walking at about 1.30pm yesterday. Detectives are investigating whether the find is linked to two other body parts found in other parts of the country. On Monday, a forearm was found on a grass verge in Hertfordshire – 12 miles from where a leg was found in a holdall on Sunday, March 22. Click here! Police in Hertfordshire are treating the investigation as a murder inquiry. DNA from the severed leg and arm has not been able to identify the victim. Today, officers confirmed they were working with detectives in Leicestershire on the case following the new discovery. Police in Leicestershire are expected to release more details later today. A police spokesman said: "Police were called to Hoby Road, in Asfordby, close to Asfordby cemetery, to a report of a possible body part in a field. Inquiries are in their very early stages. We are not yet in a position to confirm any further details." This morning, an area of woodland and a neighbouring field, in Asfordby, remained cordoned off. Forensic officers and police were examining the area. Three tactical support vans, a forensic van and police dogs arrived at the scene at about 10am today. It is understood the remains were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary for testing. Asfordby villagers said they saw police helicopters searching the surrounding woodlands yesterday afternoon. Dave Newton, from Loughborough Road, said: "I was aware that there was something going on when I spotted a police helicopter over a field yesterday afternoon. "Hoby Road is a relatively busy stretch of road and the police have been there since about 2.20pm yesterday afternoon." A number of builders working in the area saw the police arrive yesterday. Builder Martin Shaw, 54, from Leicester, said: "The police rolled up, lots of them, but they didn't say anything to us at all. "They just closed off the area. We obviously suspected something serious had happened. "We were surprised the police didn't come and speak to us to find out if we'd seen anything. "We've been here for weeks. If it's a body it's pretty gruesome. We're all desperate to know what's going on."
Bellend Sebastian Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 I bought a bass amp there just before Christmas. I'd just like to rule myself out of the enquiry
Katy Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Gosh, that's awful. Why on earth would somebody want to do such a thing to someone.
MC Prussian Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Gosh, that's awful. Why on earth would somebody want to do such a thing to someone. It's all about hurt feelings. Or boredom. But mostly a combination of both.

One that's pretty pissed off. And wants to make a statement. Someone who perhaps has money to burn. Drugs/sex industry? And a bloke who perhaps uses the A1.
Katy Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Have I missed something, but why are people making jokes out of this? Last time I looked someone having their head removed from their body wasn't particularly amusing

BoneDog Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 My remark wasn't meant to be a joke, was just adding ti how some folks dispose of the evidence of their evil deeds. I find that business vile
Zingari Posted 2 April 2009 Posted 2 April 2009 Have I missed something, but why are people making jokes out of this? Last time I looked someone having their head removed from their body wasn't particularly amusing what about the aristo who had his head on the guillotine block , and someone rushed up and brought him a letter , he just looked up and said , "thanks , just pop it in the basket and i'll read it later" i do sort of agree with you though
