Tevez Posted 5 April 2009 Author Posted 5 April 2009 Cheeky bit of silverware for 'em, I hope they stay up!
Fosse Boy Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Most enjoyable game Ive watched all season. Hard to disagree I think. I actually punched the air every time Luton scored.
Tevez Posted 5 April 2009 Author Posted 5 April 2009 1556: "I feel like crying to be honest. Everyone has had a hard season, but I'm so proud of all the players and fans and everyone. Commiserations to S****horpe and I hope they get promoted." Luton captain Kevin Nicholls 1554: "This is a massive achievement for this football club, I just want to go and celebrate with the players and the fans." Luton manager Mick Harford 1552: You cannot ever have seen a group of players, coaching staff and supporters celebrate winning a trophy as much as these Luton boys are doing right now. Every football fan should revel in these remarkable scenes. Congratulations Luton.
Corky Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Well played Luton, something to take away from a season in which they were given no chance. Can't see them staying up, but their fans and players deserve great credit for giving it a real go and getting this close to survival and managing a cup win.
Ross-Kemp Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Fair play to Luton, I hate them with a fooking passion after pre-season, but credit where credits due, they looked good for the win today, don't deserve to go down either.
Hitesh Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Nice one! A bitter sweet for the season I guess after what they have been through and what will outcome this season.
Sparky Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Most enjoyable game Ive watched all season. Think id go along with that , chuffed for the Luton fans
Ultra Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Quality performance from Luton. The win was no more than they deserve. They more than any other club could have been forgiven for giving this competition a miss and focusing on the league. The fact that they didn't does them every credit.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Quite pleased for Luton, even though they're just about dead on their arse as far as league status goes. The irony of them supposedly hating the authorities and the FA in particular, yet selling 40-odd thousand tickets and no doubt buying a lot of merchandise actually at Wembley further lining the pockets of their "enemy" is hilarious, though.
Ultra Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 They'd probably have sold most of the merchandise themselves. The day out, and the prize money, will have provided the club with much-needed revenue. Although they've left it just too late to catch Grimsby, they should return to the league sooner rather than later.

Although they've left it just too late to catch Grimsby, they should return to the league sooner rather than later. That. That'll all depend on how much of their fans jump off the bandwagon after they go down this season, and also how many of their first-team squad they hold onto.
CosbehFox Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Why is there someone in the Luton end with a Yanited shirt on. It was someone showing that they are a supporter of a different club yet were supporting Luton through their plight. I thought it was a good touch.
Corky Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 That smug tosser Mawhinney getting booed was very enjoyable. You could see the Luton players didn't want to shake hands with him.
Ultra Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 It was someone showing that they are a supporter of a different club yet were supporting Luton through their plight. I thought it was a good touch. It's nothing new. When we played at Luton in the Championship a couple of seasons ago, there were kids in the main stand with Man U and Chelsea shirts on..
