Leicester Supporters Enjoyed Their Day at Hereford

Reading through the Foxes Talk forum it appears that their supporters enjoyed their day in Hereford yesterday. And it wasn't only the result they were happy with.

Here's what one supporter thought:

Great day out, lovely City. The Barrels served some cracking beers and provided the sort of welcome that would make anyone go there again. The fans completely took over another pub near the ground where, again, it was all good natured fun and when I finally found a place to eat a steak in a City that's famous for its bulls it was well worth it.

And another:

The Barrels was a quality pub.

And another:

Good to meet you both today in the Barrells today, that was a great pub I couldnt stop drinking in there! I am feeling a bit rough now though but it was worth it. I lost my mobile phone celebrating our second goal but luckily someone had handed it in to a steward.

And another:

Just back. What an awesome day! Great pubs in a lovely town.

And another:

What a fantastic day. From start to finish. On arriving in Hereford the sun was out and we headed for the Chip shop, that we visited the last time we played Hereford, again it didn't fail to impress.

And another:

Thought Hereford was a lovely place, especially the pub on the corner (I think it was called herdings?)

And another:

I was in there for a couple before the game, nice little pub, even the police that came through had a smile on their faces.

And another:

Just want to add what a fantastic location for a football ground, the sun certainly helped but it was a great day.

And another:

Best away day this season for me Got to Hereford at 2, a pint in the pub just across the car park from the ground and got talking to a Hereford supporter.Arranged to meet outside the ground after to go up to the Barells for a couple. This to me is what football is all about.

And just one more:

Absolutely brilliant day. Great fun on the curved terrace. One of the guys next to us having a tin of cider confiscated only for it to be given back to him at the end of the game. We started a "Freedom for Strongbow!" chant at the time.

Like pretty much every away day I've managed to make it to this year, I've had a fantastic time. Think I'm gonna miss going to grounds like Edgar Street if we get promoted.

And two observations about Hereford's finest:

Policing - has anyone got a bad word for them yesterday? Seemed to me that they couldn't be friendlier and more helpful.

Anyone else see the two female coppers near the burger van in the carpark after the game, they can search me anytime they want!!!

I agree with all that. Really nice place. Police were great, even directed us to a suitable pub. I saw very little trouble except for some idiots behind where I was standing who were escorted out for smashing the back of the stand in. All in all it was a great day and it was a pleasure to sit in Hereford and sip a pint in the sun, especially as it was followed by a victory on the pitch.

I was stood near them. They were banging the panels at the back and a couple gave way. I don't think there was any malice involved.

I'd concur with that - the panels we were sounding a beat on were obviously stronger. :D

What with Hereford, Cheltenham and a good few others I could mention it seems our fans have been making friends on the road this season rather than developing the sort of reputation that would have home people dreading us coming.

You can't ever imagine that happening at Millwall admittedly - it was like a corner of hell hidden out oif sight from the rest of the world - but generally I'll miss this season's trips to the terraced grounds and to places like Walsall, Stockport and Hartlepool - all places you'd probably never visit in your lifetime if wasn't for football.

I can imagine us getting one or two friendlies out of it.

I can't ever remember a season with so many cracking awaydays.

Most places have welcomed us with open arms - and not only because of the amount of money we've put behind their bars..

His wind-ups of the Hereford fans were classic. He went a bit OTT trying to grope one of them though. :(

The kid who got off at Malvern was pretty amusing.

He was annoying. Thought he was a little girl at first. Gonna be one of them that needs a good battering when he's older.

Wasn't online over the weekend, so I haven't had the chance to talk about this match. It was very enjoyable, sunny day, standing up, good banter and our fans were in decent voice and number.

Not the best start but battled back to win it with terrific perseverance from Dyer and then great skill be Gradel for Howard's goal.

One part of a vital six points from this weekend. Superb

In 20 years' time, he'll be in a pub telling folk he took us all on with his bare hands..lol

He would've been an absolute b'stard to deal with if we'd lost, though..

Ahhh, what a plank he was.

He was more than a plank. Before it kicked off, someone else was telling him to shut up.

No-one should go to a game just to proclaim we're crap or rubbish.

There were four of them, two of them are L1 ST holders too.

You have to wonder why anyone would go to the bother to travel distance just to bitch and moan for 90 minutes.

I had some plonker constantly whacking the metal.

I felt like saying 'Alright mate. Whack the metal but at least do it at some type of tempo. Some type of rhythm because when you don't it's annoying and adds nothing to the atmosphere'. I swear he was doing it to wind me up but he was so trollied, it would have been a nothing comment.

Cracking at the service station - with bewilding looks from the South Wales Liverpool supporters Club there. Feel like a tool for saying no to Saarfend but I suppose it must be done.

I thought the stewards were very good- always picking up the beach balls that went out of the stand and handing them back. Had a smile on their faces while they did it too.

I'd happily go back there for a match. Great day out.

And SUAS- were you at the Prancing Pony before the match and waved at the Fox Travel coaches?

What a brilliant day, and what a result!

Anyone who says we are all about the hoof does not deserve an opinion. Our second half performance was great, and just what we needed.

As for this guy....
