Ozwin Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Like Stoke have 'Delilah' and West Ham have 'Forever Blowing Bubbles' and Liverpool have 'You'll Never Walk Alone' etc. We need to bang it out before the game the way those clubs do. Hearing the fans at Southend singing it at the end sounded so special and I think we should be using it the way the clubs mentioned use theirs.
Matt Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Or Heroes in Blue and White - Although its nothing you can chant though. Its our anthem and nothing no other club can take of us.
Finchy Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Heroes in blue n white, the team that we adore since 1884! They make my dark days bright, when i'm feeling grey I think of Filbert Way. I think that bit could work as a chant

Agree - sounded great on Radio Leicester like 10,000 singing as the players and NP were interviewed. Really wish I could have been there, but thought RL were brilliant with the whole broadcast and commentary today.
Ozwin Posted 18 April 2009 Author Posted 18 April 2009 Glenfield, I aree 100%, Radio Leicester did a great job, made it feel like an even more special day than it already was.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Hey Jude is a crap song. It's a monotonous dirge - completely uninspiring. Besides... wasn't it Holloway who started that off? Lets have the team come out to some At The Drive-In THIS STATION IS NON-OPERATIONAL!
Rich Fox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Ive heard a lot worse, Its the right idea because we need something simple that everyone can sing and make some noise to. The song heroes in blue and white is great and i really like it (think it should be played just before kick off at every home game) but its not something we can all sing really. So hey jude is not a bad shout.
Craig Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 When you're smiling was awesome today, that's our song
Nath Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 When you're smilling got a great airing today imo. When you're smiling was awesome today, that's our song Beat me to it by seconds!
leicesterseddon Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 no other football club in the world sings WYS, and that's what makes it special (even though, let's face it, it's not much of a tune) i mean liverpool can't even say that about YNWA... hey jude? i would think most clubs' fans have at one time or another sung a variation on that... <_<
BrockwellFox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 When you're smiling was awesome today, that's our song 100% - WYS needs to be sung far more often for my liking. Wouldn't mind hearing the Sinatra version played before home games, give it a bit of a jazz mood. nice.
leftsideoverhere Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 100% - WYS needs to be sung far more often for my liking. I'm sure I can still hear it.
BrockwellFox Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 I'm sure I can still hear it. aye.. that and "bring on the sunderland.." are still going round my head... feel like a kid at christmas
Fosse Boy Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 No. We really, really don't. Or...OR... When You're Smiling perhaps? When you're smiling was awesome today, that's our song no other football club in the world sings WYS, and that's what makes it special (even though, let's face it, it's not much of a tune)i mean liverpool can't even say that about YNWA... hey jude? i would think most clubs' fans have at one time or another sung a variation on that... <_< 100% - WYS needs to be sung far more often for my liking. And was it just me or were we singing WYS ever so slightly more slowly at times yesterday?
C-man Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 No. WYS is our song, and it's beginning to be heard more at games now. Hopefully we can get it going on Friday night. Personally, I just believe it's a matter of people having time to learn the song. We're getting there.
lou Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Agree with all the WYS fans........THATS LCFC's SONG!! Still buzzing and very hungover......... was in the back garden clutchin an empty bottle of Champers that my Hubby had ready for us when we got back last night, screaming Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal at the top of my voice well after midnight Oh well never really spoke to the neighbours much anyway
BrockwellFox Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 WYS lyrics please. think this is right, bit befuddled today.. When you're smiling When you're smiling The whole world smiles with you When you're laughing When you're laughing The sun comes shining through But when you're crying You bring on the rain So stop your sighing Be happy again Keep on smiling Cause when you're smiling The whole world smiles with you (aaah + waggly fingers) The whole world smiles with you (aaah + waggly fingers) The whole world smiles with you (more waggly fingers) Go Leicester! (clap clap clap) Go Leicester! (clap clap clap) Go Leicester! (clap clap clap)
Ozwin Posted 19 April 2009 Author Posted 19 April 2009 Suppose I'll have to hear it being sung to 'get it' - doesn't seem overly chantable on paper, well the middle bits anyway.
BrockwellFox Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Suppose I'll have to hear it being sung to 'get it' - doesn't seem overly chantable on paper, well the middle bits anyway. try this
smudger63 Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 The problem with "when your smiling", is, that it isn`t a song that can be repeated over and over, and so by the time everyones realised the song is being sung, the song is all but finished anyway. I suppose if it was played as the players came out, before the game, maybe it would work, but then we`re going down the lines of the club trying to manufacture an atmosphere, rather than us creating our own, which is as it should be, in my opinion! I absolutely hate chelsea dagger, after we score, we don`t need them to play music, we know how to celebrate all by ourselves, thank you very much!!!
