dandannieldanok Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Anyone else think Haye has overstepped the mark with this depiction? It certainly got a strong reaction from both Klitschko's and although it is the norm for mocking and insults to be traded before matches, I certainly agree with them that this is way below the belt from Haye.
Tevez Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 It's just his description of "I'm going to rip your head off" If that is a problem, then films with worse horror should not be shown.
Finnegan Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Just think he's a nobhead, really. Some of the banter around boxing is funny and entertaining but a lot of it's just silly. One of the things I liked a lot about Calzaghe and to an extent Hatton was the fact they generally did most of their talking with their fists.
Joe. Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 What the fuck? What's next? My mum's and my dad's head cut off? Will he attack my race or religion? "It is upsetting to see my relations portrayed like that. It is not sport.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 I love David Haye but the chances of him winning this are slim to nil in honesty. Love him to do it, but I just can't see it.
FilboFox Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Boxing is a ridiculous "sport"... I can understand why some might like it but I can't stand it... watching two men beat each other half to death is not my idea of entertainment...

Wow......thats pretty bad, but funny aswel. I know boxing is all about bigging yourself up etc... but this will come back and bite him in the arse. Klitschko is a tough enough proposition as it is, without him being incensed by a bit of stupidness from Haye. He's crossed the line in my honest opinion.
The Reverend Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Boxing is a ridiculous "sport"... No-one gives a fuck - If you dont like boxing, dont post in a boxing thread. No one really cares about wether you like boxing or not, same as no-one cares about you're hatred of Andy Murray. Get over yourself.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 Doesn't Haye respect the Klitchkos though? Unless I've missed something. Thought he recognised them as greats.

Well I'd say it's probably a terrible move... from what I know of boxing, Klitschko isn't someone you want to be winding up and he could well pay for that...
BlueSi13 Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 I think it's great that it's getting people to take some notice of the heavyweight division again! A proper fight for once! i think (and hope) Haye will do it!

lou Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Below the belt??? Nooooo I dont think so. Anyway I dont think this would have been his own idea... his promoters would have thought this one up and I dont suppose hed have thought long and hard about it... hes a boxer! I like him and though I doubt it will happen, would love him to win it!
Samilktray Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Im still baffled by how its crossed a line. Its boxing, not some pussy sport.
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Im still baffled by how its crossed a line. Its boxing, not some pussy sport. Can't call this boxing anymore, it's posing. Says an old-schooler.
Ultra Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Can't call this boxing anymore, it's posing.Says an old-schooler. This. All this posturing is pretty tame, compared with the badmouthing that went off back in the days of Ali and Frazier. None of the current combatants are fit to lace their gloves.
Sir Fynwy Posted 21 April 2009 Posted 21 April 2009 Haye just wants to sell tickets for what might be his only attempt on the heavyweight world title, it's just a circus.
