Alexikokopops Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 That may be flanimal, but you seem to be completely missing the point. Brunt has been playing as a winger who has been playing as a winger but could fill in as a striker (supposedly). Therefore if he leaves it will not affect Cox because Cox will be playing as a striker. Oh, and Ronaldo started as a winger and has gone on to play through the middle. He still plays out wide more than through teh centre.
Fox You Forest Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Fortune... Maybe just me but i think he's a poor excuse for a striker.
flanimal Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I'm just saying if you're a winger who can score goals you can easily play as a striker. Walcott, Henry... makes no real difference. Brunt would make a great striker. Whether they stay up or not, Brom will play him upfront in 2009-10.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I think that it is definitely between us and a couple of other clubs. Peterborough think they are going to get him after he apparantley spoke to Fatty Fry after the game on the final day. I just can't believe that as he won't improve their team so I don't think they are in the run in for him.

From the interview I saw of him on the BBC he is massively ambitious so will go for the club that gives him the best chance of success at the highest level. That will not be Peterborough. If a low end prem team come in for him then we will be no where near his thoughts. If however it is a host of championship clubs then it will come down to which team can closeest match his ambition. I am sure that MM can put on the old Serb charm and we would then be in with a very good chance of getting hom.

L2 to PL in one step is massive, and he's going to cost at least £1.5m. If the Premier team is West Brom, well, they ain't gonna be Premier for long!

flanimal Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Yeah, the promoted teams would be interested. Big step to Premier League though.
i luv u foxes Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 id prefer to have cox no danger but cant see us signing any of them tbh wud be nice if we could have both

Well Leicester and Mandaric have very high ambitions so if thats the case it should be a no brainer for him.
carterfox90 Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 both strikers play a different game but for sheer skill factor alone cox but as someone has already said lambert would fit better into our system of play
Mark Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 A system that we have to alter to be successful in the Championship!
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Can't we just sign them both..... please. Simon Cox is small but has pace - what we need. - 35 goals in 62 apps for Swindon in 2008-present day. WOW. Rickie Lambert is big - also what we need. - 50 goals in 127 apps for Bristol Rovers. ___ Danny Wilson confirmed that he has turned town bids from Leicester and Celtic for Cox. Bristol Rovers confirmed that they accepted a £750k bid from Huddersfield but Lambert didn't move in January. So, surely, we could get them both in for say errrrm, £2,900,000. How much have we got again?
hairy Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 I heard the deal was done for Cox. Then Milan started telling everyone we had signed him, when the paperwork hadn't been completed, and now Swindon want more for him on the basis Milan will loss face if we dont sign him. The butcher told me

lefox Posted 9 July 2009 Posted 9 July 2009 Lambert then, seeing though Cox is at West Brom. I have to say I'm a bit gutted..
