General Smuts Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 hmmmmSeems my Cox comment was deleted. I only said I love Cox. Great player. I too love Cox. But he's no Chris Powell.
MC Prussian Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I too love Cox. But he's no Chris Powell. Powell could be Cox's dad. Powell is a left-back. Cox scores goals for fun. Powell has scored six times in more than 650 league games. Cox has scored more than forty goals in 100+ games. What a smutty comparison.
Granno Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I'd take a punt on Cox. One of the best players I have seen this season, without a doubt.

I wish Chris Powell was my dad Chris Powell has ladies left on thier back Chris Powell scores clunge for fun Chris Powell has scored six times this morning. With 6 different ladies. Chris Powell will bum you into next week. Simon Cox will bum you for loose change.

flanimal Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I doubt we'll get Cox. I think, like a few others, that we'll sign some foreign striker. Probably a goal machine from Albania, or something, maybe he'll be called Mikoslav Goalmachinksi. Just a rumour.
MC Prussian Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 But what's the deal with Howard anyway? How long's his contract still running for? I find it a bit harsh that some people are slagging Fryatt off for an assumed lack of impact in the Championship, when they fail to mention that he was playing in a overall bad squad guided by an even worse manager last season in the first place. Logically it might make sense, but I'd say Howard still has a one or two "fruitful" season(s) ahead of him and Fryatt should be given a chance. Question is - what type of striker would fit in with such a scenario? A Howard-esque guy like Lambert - so they can be switched depending on the game and/or circumstances? Or bring in Cox? Or bring in two new forwards with the same abilities without selling Howard nor Fryatt?
flanimal Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 You really think a player like Cox or Lambert would be totally good about sitting on the bench? THey're better than that. A bench-striker is going to be average at best, and that's what Dickov is for, innit?

Bryn Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 If we could get Cox we'd be foolish to turn him down for Lambert.
lilsmig Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 i think pearson will pull in another unkown player like tunchev but would like to see cox in a leicester shirt
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Personally i would have both of em'! But i seem to be only one of twelve people who voted Lambert. I just think he will be cheaper and is a player we need more than Cox. Labert can replace Howard or we could even play two big men up front. However i do like Cox too so i wont be that bothered if we do get him instead, but overall its just Lambert who edges it.
Fox92 Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Right, I have voted Lambert. Because, he is bigger than Cox and at the moment we need a big man. I mean Cox is a quality striker but he is much the same height as Fryatt. Although I voted Lambert, it is hard becuase they are both quality strikers [in that league anyway] ..... And then one of my targets on my signature is Cox himself!
teblin Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Swindon manager Danny Wilson has placed West Brom and Leicester on red alert by conceding top scorer Simon Cox is likely to leave the County Ground this summer. (Daily Mirror)
carterfox90 Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 cox no contest has the potential to go far in the game & could make us a lot of money or even stay with us & become a top prem striker for us !!
leicesterseddon Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Cox everyday of the week. the diet from hell i'd rather see cox in a leicester shirt - we need pace up front badly for next year
flanimal Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 the diet from hell i'd rather see cox in a leicester shirt - we need pace up front badly for next year But if West Brom want him, why would he not go there? They'll have more dough from relegation.
Jimmy Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 But if West Brom want him, why would he not go there? They'll have more dough from relegation. believe it or not some players chose to go where they'll be 1st choice not who has the most cash, I know its shocking that players would actually want to play football but it does sometimes happen
flanimal Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 If Brom go down (which is 95%) they'll probably lose Fortune and Brunt, and Cox would get action on the pitch. I guess it depends what the managers say.
Jimmy Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 well Brunt is a winger so his leaving doesn't affect Cox and they still have Miller who impressed in their promotion campaign
flanimal Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Brunt is a good striker though. Winger or not, he's a better forward than anyone else in their team bar Fortune.
Jimmy Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 but he plays as a winger for them, they have been playing a 4-5-1
flanimal Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 Man Utd play Rooney and Ronaldo on the wings. Both are strikers.
