dandannieldanok Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Out of interest, who do you think would be a good partner for Torres IF they do sign a striker in the summer? I think Keane was rather unlucky at Liverpool in the fact that Benitez would always sub him or even when he scored 3 goals in 2 games, he would be on the bench Plus, Benitez claimed he was a 'board' signing. Personally, I would like to see Benitez sign his 'own striker'. Well if they were going to sign a striker then Tevez would be a very good option especially considering he's definitely available. If I was Benitez though I wouldn't bother buying a striker, Torres for me just seems to be suited to that lone role with Gerrard supplying. Let's face it if they did bring Tevez in or another top striker, they're not going to want to bench warm and fill in for Torres when injured.
Koke Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 Tevez is not worth that KIA is asking for. He's a £15m player at most, and I can fully understand why Ferguson don't want to spend £25m+ on him. He's just not worth that. And if Benitez thinks he's worth that much then he's a clown.
Ultra Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 I don't think Tevez would suit Liverpool's style at all. He'd probably end up like Keane. Benitez would be better off buying a couple of full-backs. That's where Liverpool's main weakness lies.
Uncle Albert Posted 31 May 2009 Author Posted 31 May 2009 I think Tevez would be perfect for Liverpool, even if it isn't playing through the middle. I can see Tevez playing where Riera is now on the left side, Riera doesnt have to track back like a normal winger because Mascherano and Alonso make up the extra defensive men. Tevez would able to play on the left and come inside to play aswell just like Kuyt has this season and he has scored a fair few goals in the League. Also if Torres was to get injured then Tevez would play through the middle, if they had adopted that method and played Keane out on the left then Liverpool would have had a good enough striker in the weeks where Torres was injured. Tevez fits the bill for Liverpool.

Maybes Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 How much did they spend on Berbatov? Too much is the answer. Neither player is worth that amount.
Uncle Albert Posted 31 May 2009 Author Posted 31 May 2009 How much did they spend on Berbatov? £30 million. Spurs made a tastey profit off that I can tell you.
Number 6 Posted 31 May 2009 Posted 31 May 2009 £30 million. Spurs made a tastey profit off that I can tell you. I bet. I'm not saying Tevez is worth that money either. But out of Tevez & Berba, I know who I would rather have in my team.
Uncle Albert Posted 31 May 2009 Author Posted 31 May 2009 I bet. I'm not saying Tevez is worth that money either. But out of Tevez & Berba, I know who I would rather have in my team. Yea I know aswell. It's not that I think Berbatov isn't a bad player but I would rather play someone who is going to run about for the team for 90 minutes than someone like Berbatov who only seem's to be interested when he has the ball. I know Berbatov wasnt bought by United to run about like Tevez and Rooney but come on at least show some interest. I think if it was Tevez who missed that penalty against Everton in the Semi he certainly wouldnt of got the stick that Berbatov recieved because they can see how much Tevez want's to give to United compared to Berbatov. Maybe next season Berbatov will show his £30 million price tag.

Matt Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Breaking News Knew that weeks ago . Well breaking news that it has been made official Apparently Man Utd did offer the asking price (25m) and offered Tevez a 5 year contract though.
C-man Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 If I was a United fan I wouldn't be losing any sleep over this. He's a hard worker and a very good player but for that amount of money they could get some one else with equal or perhaps great talent.
StanSP Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Madrid will put in a ridiculous bid. Liverpool, Chelsea or Man City will all have their say too.
Bakey Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Madrid will put in a ridiculous bid.Liverpool, Chelsea or Man City will all have their say too. Could do as Villa's agent has said Valencia want to keep him.
Matt Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Where is he off? SSN Breaking News; Sky Sports Sources: Chelsea and Manchester City are the only clubs in the running to sign Tevez.
StanSP Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Could do as Villa's agent has said Valencia want to keep him. Don't Valencia need the money ?
StanSP Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 Unless Valencia are just holding out for more money? In the hope that clubs make an unrefusable offer?
Kilworthfox Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 SSN Breaking News;Sky Sports Sources: Chelsea and Manchester City are the only clubs in the running to sign Tevez. Kia Joooooorabchian or what ever confirmed this on BBC radio 5 about half an hour ago. Man U offered 5 5yr contract and stumped up £25mil! Tevez rejected this and will go Chelsea or Man City!
Ultra Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 From what Joorabchian was saying, it would be more likely to be Chelsea. Man City would be too much of a risk for him at this stage in his career.
