Carlos Tevez

I don't think there is a thread about him so...

Just seen this morning on Teletext that he has spoken to an Argentine TV channel saying that he has confirmed he will not be at Man United next season and with his farewell waves to the United fans yesterday when got subbed I think that was the sign he is off aswell.

Liverpool are also apparently the team who are front runners to sign him up for £22 million, which I think is a good price for him. He may not have banged in the goals but I think that stat is a little bit harsh on him because out of his 29 appearences in the League this season I think he has started 14. If you can get him playing in an 11 every week I think he will be quality, just like he was at West Ham.

I can see a shock u-turn in the whole thing anyways in Tevez scoring the winning Champions League goal and him wanting to stay at United for the rest of his career and Fergie offering him a big deal.

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on the saga?

I really want him to stay at United. Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez next season will be awesome. Tevez is suited to the Prem, so I at least hope he stays there.

Quality player.

Was talking with my mate who's a United fan, without asking him he said that he would pick Tevez over Ronaldo all the time. If Liverpool get him it will be a superb buy, especially with the rivalry. Could be another Gabriel Heinze saga, and he'll end up at Real Madrid or something.

United probably won't let him go to Liverpool

I think you are forgetting they have no real say in the matter, Tevez can go in theory to whoever he wants, whoever stumps up the cash the only way United can stop it is to show him the money.

As for Tevez himself the situation is pretty much his fault for the fact that he isn't owned by a club and signed to a non footballing organization, something I still can't really understand how they get away with it in a legal sense

Surely its not upto United where he goes to?

Yeah, but they'll end up having some kind of say in it. Like they kicked up a fuss when Heinze was interested to go to Liverpool.

I'm not saying they can decide where he goes, but I have a feeling they'll try and stop him going there.

he is only on loan at Man Utd the only way they can have a say is if they sign him up

Ah yeah forgot he was only on loan. Thought he was on permanent contract.

Fair play then. Nothing really can stop him

he's obviously a bit angry at the entire situation (a big part is obviously his fault) so might think f**k it I want to go to Liverpool massive team don't need to move house etc.

I personally think he would fit right into Liverpools first team and could really be that missing link for them up front

Yeah I think Liverpool should go for him or David Villa. Valencia need the money so they are much more willing to sell. Might as well go for a couple of other players from Valencia too.

Apparently Zola has spoken to Kia Joorabchian (who is still currently a financial advisor at West Ham) about wether Tevez would look at going back to West Ham next season until January on the same sort of loan deal he has been on at Man Utd, until he has his future sorted out, as no other prem clubs are willing to pay the stupid prices that Kia is trying to get for him to line his own pocket (he has said he isn't letting him go for anywhere under £20 mill). Zola actually came out and said he would love to see Tevez back at Upton Park but a lot will rely on the new owners coming in. I cannot see Tevez going back to Upton Park though just for half a season, although it is never in his hands, his life is more or less owned by Joorabchian.

He'll end up at Man City. They'll outbid everyone. He is one of the few top class players they could realistically get, it will raise their credibility and give them a chance of bringing in one or two more.

He looks the perfect fit at Liverpool for me though. He could go into the 11 as a straight replacement for Dirk Kuyt, a strike partner or alternative to Torres.

Why does he want to leave Man Utd, not starting enough games? Could be a similar situation at Liverpool.

I don't think he does want to leave does he?

I'd rather have Tevez than Berbatov IMO anything under 33m is a decent signing for any side. BTW where does the money go too when he is bought by who ever it may be??

I don't think he does want to leave Man Utd, It's more of that Man Utd don't want to pay the money they are being asked for (£25? £30 Million? Something like that, Plus the money they have already spent on him) and aren't willing to held to ransom, they want him but if they are being asked to pay over the odds then its a case of no deal, if Man Utd ain't going sign him up he has to go somewhere doesn't he.

He's owned by a consortium (I think? :dunno) so presumably split between the members of the consortium.
