Managers of the Season

1. This goes to a fine English manager who since has took over has completly changed the fortunes of the club. He's experienced, plays good football and is an all-round fantastic manager. Congratulations Sir Alex Ferguson. He again saw his team win the league and the reason behind this is his strong backbone of British players, Ferdinand and O'Shea and Evans defensivly. Fletcher, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick in midfield and then Rooney up-top. What I like about Fergie is that he nutures young talent. Anderson, Nani, Rooney, Tosic, Llajic and the Rafael twins, all brought in for probably really cheap as there foreign.

2. Martin O'Neill, this manager took over a team in 16th position 3 years ago and have made back to back top 6 finishes. What I like about his team is the pace of Agbonlahor and Young, but for me the biggest key to Villa's success is the speed on the break with the likes of Young and Agbonlahor. Overall Martin O'Neill has done a brilliant job with attractive football usually playing a counter-attacking game with the pace of Agbonlahor and Young, which suits there pace on the break.

3. Tony Pulis. Noone had heard of Stoke let alone Tony Pulis before this season, but my god we know about them now. Long ball, hard challenges and brutal violence. It's what the premiership is all about. One man in particular stands out and that's Rory Delap. I spoke to him earlier in the season and he actually showed me how weapon works, I was intreiged. So long, so hard and so explosive, I actually said to him "Go on show me it, I've always dreamed of getting my head onto one of those". What a job Tony has done.

4. David Moyes - It's been a tough old season for Moyes with lots of problems, mainly being Ginger. I remember constantly taking the mic out of our ginger in training back when I was playing. "OI YOU GINGER T*AT!, OI YOU GINGER PR*CK!, OI TELL YOUR DAUGHTER SAME TIME AGAIN TONIGHT YOU CARROT TOP!"...To be fair though his reply made me stop and think "That's it Dave, your not starting tommorow." Anyway he's done a good job. Congrats.

5. Roy Hodgson - This manager has invaded more countries than Hitler. Hodgson however being English found success alot easier to come by. He's took minnows Fulham to literally the highest place possible in the Premiership. 7th.

6. Steve Bruce - Though their season has tailed off, Wigan in mid-table still represents a very good season, Despite losing the box to box, influentional, goals, energy, tackling and quality of Heskey, they've still come out fighting. Cattermole represents Wigan and Bruce so well with his late, ugly and solid two foot challenges. The problem is these days, those foreigners can't even play on a broken leg, let alone play well. Jessies.

7. Rafa Benitez - I'm suprised I'm putting a foreign manager so high on the list to be honest, but to be fair had it not been Man United winning the title, Liverpool would of won the title, which goes to show a great job Rafa has done. It was going all so well up until January really which co-incided with Rafa's first managerial mistake. Selling Keane, with Keane out of the side, the british spine that once was completly dissapeared.

Does that say Fergie is English ?

Dave Pundit bores me.

His first couple of posts cracked me up but he needs a few new gags. Calling Scots managers/players English - we get the point. Come up with a new one.

Wide up merchant :dunno: , deliberately gets nationalities wrong so that he's guaranteed a response otherwise most would just ignore his posts

I'm surprised at you davieG, I didn't think this one would get over your head.

It's parody, it's not meant to be serious. Though like I said - some of his jokes are getting a bit repetitive (so Smuts probably loves him.)

Parody or not and I like a 'good' parody he's just not good at it, there's no depth to his paradoic (made that word up I think) ramblings, not funny, not clever enough so because of that I just feel his trying a wind up.

I shan't be opening his threads again as a poster unfortunately as Admin I guess I have to.

8 years of Punditry, perhaps it's time to literally hang up my punditry pen.

Or just make it once a week so it's far more rarer meaning it doesn't get to boring.

Don't give it up, just post it where someone gives a shit.

Well I thought it was funny.
Its better than a lot of the posts we usually get in the closed season

Generally agree. Certainly don't think it's worth the panning it's been getting, it did make me chuckle.

People still questioning the nationalities lol

Youre overdoing it Dave.

I'll definatly be cutting down, once a week. I don't think this forum can handle more than that. There just not ready.

Super Lee Cattermole :worship:

Anyway, I think this thread should be changed into an actual manager of the season awards. ;)

IMO

Premiership: Roy Hodgson

Championship: Owen Coyle

League 1: Nigel Pearson

League 2: Andy Scott
