Edmund Posted 24 June 2009 Author Posted 24 June 2009 That Alditore is fooking strong. He would be good in the prem. I see he plays for Villareal.
Jimmy Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 FIFA need to remind the refs that Football is actually a CONTACT sport. USA have had 3 red cards and I don't think any actually were
Edmund Posted 24 June 2009 Author Posted 24 June 2009 Without being disrespectful to USA a Spain Vs Brazil final would have been quality.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 After such a great run, Spain were always going to have a shocker at some point. They've been a bit toothless tonight, but wouldn't want to take anything away from the US who have defended brilliantly. I can't see this being indicative of either side's fate at the World Cup though.
Darkzzz_ Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 The U.S have been excellent at the back this evening. Spain have knocked, but the U.S have handled everything. I hope they win it now for the determination they have shown here.

Tommeh Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Anticipating a great world cup if this game is anything to go by, Spain have missed Iniesta for me and fook knows what Riera's doing in this squad let alone team. US have been impressive, well worthy of their top 10 ranking.
Tevez Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Someone who couldn't cut it at Newcastle on loan and a Championship defender have just shut up Villa, Torres ,Fabregas etc. Great Turnaround!
Guest Bilo Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 USA have a decent record at the world cup, its pretty much the same as ours They went out at the group stage in 1990, 1998 and 2006. They did make the quarter-finals in 2002 though. This'll give them confidence though going into next year, and with a kind draw they could go well.

I thought it was better then that, they do suffer though due to their confederation so often get tougher groups
Koke Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Kudos to the USA. They defended very well as a unit, and especially DeMerit was very good. I hope they go on to win it. G'won the underdogs.
Jordan Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Dear Spain, BOW DOWN. Sincerely, USA ...but seriously, I'm stunned--but the good kind of stunned. I ... I... I don't know what I'm going to do now to celebrate this. But I'm going to celebrate this. I'd say I can't wait for Sunday, but I kind of want to let this win marinate for a little while first.
purpleronnie Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 A big kick in the teeth for the eurosnobs. Spain ppfffttt nothing compared to the mighty Yanks. It must be something in the genes...which I could bottle it. USA USA USA!
MC Prussian Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Just seen the two goals. Spain defending quite shockingly. Deservedly out.
Jordan Posted 24 June 2009 Posted 24 June 2009 Someone who couldn't cut it at Newcastle on loan and a Championship defender have just shut up Villa, Torres ,Fabregas etc.Great Turnaround! Oguchi Onyewu looks at your half-disparaging comment and sneers at it in utter contempt. What we're seeing in South Africa is the Gooch we're used to over here. There must be something in the water at Newcastle. Whatever it is, their whole team drank a lot of it last season. And DeMerit really rose to the occasion tonight. It'd be impossible to take him out of the U.S. lineup now.

A group containing a team now generously ranked 6th by FIFA should suit the Yankees nicely.
lcfc_jme Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Spain were gash infront of goal to be quite honest. USA absolutely outmuscled, out-worked and out-finished their more illustrious and orgasmed-over opponents and it was actually enjoyable to watch. Will be interesting to see how Spain pick themselves up from that, they've not lost or conceded twice, or even been shut out, in a while. Take nothing at all away from the USA, though. Will be HILARIOUS if they go on to win it now. Oh yeah, and apparently no banning of the vuvuzela?!? Ecstatic!! :w00t:

Those vuvuzelas are the most annoying things ever seen in a football stadium. I'd rather have a season ticket at Cov than sit next to someone blowing one of those things for 90 minutes.

BlueSi13 Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Gutted by this result, true the jizzing over all things Spain had become quite tiresome but the last thing the game of football needs is for the USA to win a major tournament.....que "we don't even give a shit about soccerball and we still win your tournaments"....disaster....C'MON BRAZIL!!!!! Besides i still wouldn't consider the USA any sort of threat for the World Cup, they were a joke against Brazil and Italy earlier in the tournament, they've just hit a VERY lucky patch
Bert Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 USA have a decent record at the world cup, its pretty much the same as ours
Edmund Posted 25 June 2009 Author Posted 25 June 2009 Watch out for the USA in years to come. Ive been saying this for years. There main sponsors Nike are pumping millions into grass root levels, this is something which is not being done here and with the younger generation starting to take interest, they could be a top nation within 20 years or so. On top of that a huge population where they are taught that losing is not acceptable unlike England where there are no losers or winners (gay). You heard it here first.
