dandannieldanok Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 South Africa playing well tonight, Spain not looking that comfortable.
Jimmy Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 what a double save from the keeper from the pen but his team let him down almost immediately
Jimmy Posted 20 June 2009 Posted 20 June 2009 South Africa don't deserve to be 2-0 down, but their coach does for not taking their best striker to the tournament
Radovan's Caravan Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 There was/is a poster called Chandler who was full of conspiracy theories. A few of these include:- Roma getting hammered 7-1 by Man U a few years back in a plot involving France, Italy and Spain to stop England getting world cup 2010. He was adament that South Africa would not host the world cup as FIFA would take it away. Probably still is. - Madeleine McCann was snatched in some elaborate conspiracy. He knew who had kidnapped her and was going to reveal it to us on here. We're still waiting for that reveal. The posting styles of Radovan and Chandler are exactly the same. They both love their ridiculous conspiracy story. I think you need to lie down and have a good rest Mr breadandcheese if you think me to be someone else because I accuse the BBC of once again engaging in its favourite past time (poll rigging) and that this is an opinion as ludicrous as the belief that the World Cup would be taken from South Africa or that the disappearance of Madeleine McCann was an elaborate conspiracy. (Re. the latter you don't actually say what the poster's theory was. Many people at the time of the disappearance who considered the McCanns complicit in the crime accused those who thought the McCanns to be innocent of being 'conspiracy theorists' because they maintained they were being framed by the Portuguese police.)
Finnegan Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Isn't a Serb getting uppity about another nation being corrupt a little ironic?
Uncle Albert Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Are my eye's decieving me or are some people talking about Madeline Mcann in a Confederations Cup thread? Brilliant stuff. And anyways I will give my view on Madeline Mcann I think she is alive and well in Portugal, maybe Sao Jao and at this current time she is probably lying on a lylo with a Sangria in one hand a copy of Nuts magazine in the other. Back to the football I am hoping for a Brazil win tonight and in style aswell.
Jimmy Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Half Time score Italy 0-3 Brazil (Luis Fabiano 2, Dossena O.G.) Egypt 0-1 USA as things stand Italy are out
David Guiza Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Half Time scoreItaly 0-3 Brazil (Luis Fabiano 2, Dossena O.G.) Egypt 0-1 USA as things stand Italy are out Brazil are way to fast on the counter for some of Italy's players. Could be more in the 2nd half to be honest.
Jimmy Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 USA will go through if either of the following happens, they win 3-0 and the Brazil score stays the same OR their score stays the same an Brazil win 5-0
Edmund Posted 21 June 2009 Author Posted 21 June 2009 Luis Fabiano From what ive seen of him in the South American World Cup qualifiers he looks a very good player. Strong powerful and fast. Ive not seen the goals were they any good? Is Pato playing?
Jimmy Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Luis Fabiano From what ive seen of him in the South American World Cup qualifiers he looks a very good player. Strong powerful and fast. Ive not seen the goals were they any good? Is Pato playing? goals were simple Pato on bench
Edmund Posted 21 June 2009 Author Posted 21 June 2009 goals were simple Pato on bench Italy heading out at the moment. They have had a mare of a tournament.
Ultra Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 USA and Brazil both 3-0 up. As things stand, USA will play Spain in the semis.
Bert Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Set up for a Spain-Brazil final. The best 2 teams in it for sure.
Ultra Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Italy heading out at the moment. They have had a mare of a tournament. Absolutely. Their media will not be happy..
Edmund Posted 21 June 2009 Author Posted 21 June 2009 Absolutely.Their media will not be happy.. To right they will get a roasting. Remember when they came back after losing to S. Korea. Also that own goal was shocking
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 I have to say that at the start of the tournament I only watched the games for the sake of it, but as it goes on I have found myself really enjoying it and I can'tr wait for the semis! What a great tournament!
StanSP Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Sounds like they somehow turned down the sound of the crowd tonight. Maybe less mics or put them closer to the pitch ? But Brazil Italy was good match. Attacking football throughout. But Brazil dominated on the counter. Italy have no spark. Maybe De Rossi on his day. Also, I hate Mark Bright.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Italy are poor, Lippi has a pick of talent from the youth and nothing tournaments like this are ideal to try things. He went for the old guard and was found out. Pepe and Rossi look very decent for the future squads. Brazil are a joy to watch though.
Jordan Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 Egypt are gonna humiliate the U.S. on Sunday. I'm thinking about not watching the game.
Edmund Posted 21 June 2009 Author Posted 21 June 2009 I have found myself really enjoying it and I can'tr wait for the semis! Yep im also excited ive got a semi on already. Roll on everyone bring on the semis. Sounds like they somehow turned down the sound of the crowd tonight. Maybe less mics or put them closer to the pitch ? I think they did last night as well. Certainly less of that drowning sound Italy are poorBrazil are a joy to watch though. Correct and correct.
Radovan's Caravan Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Isn't a Serb getting uppity about another nation being corrupt a little ironic? Mr Finnegan you have shown yourself to be a man of levity and humour. Let us say that I was just trying to draw posters attention in an ironic way to the Mubarak racket that is CAF and their grammatical monstrosity 'The Africa Cup of Nations.' But I take exception to your innuendo that Serbia is a corrupt country. We are a nation of black marketeers, swindlers and cut throats. And proud of it (but not when testifying before the International Criminal Court in The Hague).
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Correct and correct. Yes indeed they are, but they are still the most successful European nation and I guess we can never really write them off. But I think they are on the decline now, every team has one and this looks like it is happening to them. Will be interesting to see how Lippi will go about his squad in the next few qualifiers they still have to qualify and on these showings they could struggle. The second half shown they were better when they had Pepe and Rossi coming into the game a lot more, the youth is the way to go. But who am I to question a world cup winner?
